In my application, I have Private Sub btnSendSMS_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnSendMessage.Click in my program.
I would like to simulate a button click of the above within my other sub (an SMS receive detector) when an SMS is received.
How do I do this? I know this is not the best way of doing things but just for the sake of learning. Thanks.
You can call the Button.PerformClick method:
btnSendSMS.PerformClick()
You can call the function directly.
btnSendSMS_Click(Me, EventArgs.Empty)
Why don't you put the code in a seperate method
Private Sub SendSMS()
' do your thing
End Sub
and in your button event handler, call that method.
Private Sub btnSendSMS_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnSendMessage.Click
Call SendSMS()
End Sub
Now you can call SendSMS() anywhere in your class without having to do something funky like simulating button clicks.
Or in case of using VB in WPF:
Dim peer As New ButtonAutomationPeer(btnSendSMS)
Dim invokeProv As IInvokeProvider = TryCast(peer.GetPattern(PatternInterface.Invoke), IInvokeProvider)
invokeProv.Invoke()

I'm using Visual Basic 2010, and within my form shown sub I need two buttons to be pressed , however I need the first button's code to complete before the moving on to pressing the next button. Is there any way to allow this to happen? Thanks :)

I must admit I don't do VB, but I came across this page and it might be useful to you.

If that is not relevant, in your situation I would either use the buttons to set flags and simply if-test the flags, or create a do-while loop so that the code can finish executing while the conditions are met. Careful with those, however, as infinite loops are something they are good at.
Another thought is to enable the second button in the last line of the code of the first button?

My immediate reaction is a sticky mouse button, but really it's likely due to the web page you are loading having multiple pages being loaded, thus adding the duplicate event handler. Put a breakpoint on this line of code:
AddHandler Document.Click, New HtmlElementEventHandler(AddressOf Document_Click)
You'll likely see it being hit twice. Make sure to only wire up one HtmlElementEventHandler to avoid the double firing of the click event handler. You can check e.Url for a match before wiring up as a possible solution.
in vb.net there is no need to define onclick in html for button because it is handled automatically.so if you are doing this then the click event will fire twise.

Well, all the code posted there around works on C#, but I need to have it on VB.NET. So I have tried this:
created a new 32-bit solution from VB.NET 2010 Express (I simply added
<PlatformTarget>x86</PlatformTarget >
inside the .vbproj file)
added a reference to FC.GEPluginCtrls.dll
inserted a GeWebBrowser control on the form
at the top of the code, added
Imports FC.GEPluginCtrls
then, in the form Load event, put this code:

GeWebBrowser1.LoadEmbeddedPlugin()

Loop Until GeWebBrowser1.PluginIsReady = False
GeWebBrowser1.CreateInstance(ImageryBase.Earth)
that, I think, would be equivalent to

So, the project compiles and doesn't get errors, but the GeWebBrowser control remains empty.

Intuitively enough, you use the RaiseEvent keyword.
More explanation about raising and consuming events in VB.NET can be found here on MSDN.
But in this case it's probably better to refactor your code and extract the logic out of event handler method into another function.
I am trying to write an onclick event for textbox but VB.net does not seem to support textbox1.click()
I want to open a new form every time someone clicks on the textbox.
Opening a new form is no problem, but I cant detect the click.
Is there any event for textbox that detects click event?
I saw something like TextboxBase that has Click but I am able to use it well.

TextBox has a Click event, using it is no problem. Your Handles clause however uses OnClick, that's not a valid event name. Do make sure this Sub is inside a Form class and not a module.

For anyone who is having trouble with this, I fixed it by switching to an asp control. My button now looks like this:

Not sure why, but I now have a working click event.
For me the Textbox_ click event is triggered only when I type a character in that box.

That is disgusting. You may want to try mouse-enter mouse-leave events they are more reliable. Babu V Bassa.
