Can't understand why cellForRowAtIndexPath is never called, even though numberOfRowsInSection is called

Any suggestions?
I don't see where you add items to your array, only an init in your viewDidLoad, I think it is empty, so that is why the function is never called. There simply aren't any items to be displayed.

Can someone please help me, I looked everywhere to figure this out and nothing worked so far. I need to pass some data from table view to detail view and stick it into labels and Uiimage.
Data tableview is pulling comes from Parse database I created and seems to get pulled fine into the Tableview but I would like to use the same array that tableview is using for its data to fill out the detail view.

I have been reading things on stack overflow for quite a while now but this is my first post, only because it is the first time I have a problem that no one else seems to have fixed yet!
Ok, down to business. It should be a simple matter to put UITableViews inside a UIPageView but I am having difficulties. I have a ViewController and contentViewController. I am using .xibs instead of storyboarding. The contentViewController.xib is a Table View and the ViewController.xib is a View. I am only focusing on iPhone. The UITableView is connected to dataSource, delegate, and Referencing Outlet named theTableView.
The project builds but when I run it I get the following error message:

libc++abi.dylib: terminate called throwing an exception
This crashes after -(void)viewDidLoad{} in ViewController.m and I have not yet learned how to fix auto layout/ layoutSubview errors. Does anyone else know how?
I have limited experience with ios development so I am sure that I just don't have the right pieces in the right spots. I used http://www.techotopia.com/index.php/An_Example_iOS_5_iPhone_UIPageViewController_Application to get this far.

So if anyone could straighten me out I would appreciate it.
I was able to solve my own problem, and it seems I was just a bit mixed up.
The comment from rdelmar set me on the right track but I hooked the delegate and data source to the wrong object. I had to connect them to File's Owner in order for it to work.
In addition it seems theTableView was not necessary and when I removed that my code suddenly worked as expected.
If this isn't clear enough for an answer please tell me how I can be more specific. Thank you!
I'm sure my code is withour mistake, because I have two same tableViews and both with same code, same content and same design. But I don't understand why one of my tableViews is shown, and the other one isn't. I'm using Dynamic Prototype Content, Grouped Style and both tableViews are in container view in other ViewController. Here is code:

Check if you have implemented all the delegates and datasource methods.
Also confirm that you have set your file's owner or controller as delegates and datasource.
Try to reload the tableview after loading the data, like:

Problem:
I have a UIView that has a UITableView as a subview. The UIView has a UITapGestureRecognizer configured.
My Problem is that taps on the table are consumed by the UIView's gesture recognizer. The result is the table view never gets to see taps.
How can I either make the recognizer fail when a point is within the table's frame OR make the table the default consumer of the tap.
I have tried (as the code examples show) a number of methods pointInside:withEvent, hitTest:withEvent but can't quite figure out how to do it.

Use the UIGestureRecognizerDelegate method

and check if the touch.view is the same view as the one that should receive the gesture recognizer.
I have created a iPad app that has a settings form sheet. The form sheet is using two subviews for create a split view like display. The left (master) UITableView scrolls and launches fine. The error is coming in from when one of the master cells is selected and it displays a UITableView from a UITableViewController into the right(detail) view. It will display the UITableView but once it is scrolled the detail view crashes. Yes I have the list pulling from plist because I want these results be be accessed later in other places of the application.
