Passing parameters to SSRS from Clarion - sql

I have a SSRS report that need 2 parameters ... I need to call it from Clarion using hyperActive template... Others reports without parameters work good
but for this I'm testing the URL in IE and I got the error..
the parameters are used by stored procedure
http://server/reportserver?/Report.aspx?ItemPath=%2fFoxtel%2fCable%2fTech+Stock+Held&LocationComId=1284&DaysHeld=5
In my report I hidden the parameters, and I receive the error "The 'LocationComId' parameter is missing a value"
some idea why???

I got some answer for this question if someone need in the future from the link

Pass large parameters to browser

I created more than 20 reports using crystal report. Now I am integrating them to my API service. One particular report uses the following parameters:
lngCompanyId=1
szITSfromCompany=Sample
strGroupBy=Region
strGroupBy1=Greater Accra
strQuery1='and #tblRetOutletSumm.iRegionID=4'
strQuery2='and #tblRetOutletSumm.iDistrictID=8'
strQuery3='2016-10-27'
strQuery4='2016-10-27'
strPicHeight=1
strPicWeight=1
Now i have to pass them to my web browser to generate the report. I tried the following URL after running the project:
http://localhost:20010/Home/CreateSummaryReport?lngCompanyId=1&szITSfromPersol=Sample&strGroupBy=Region&strGroupBy1=Greater Accra&strQuery1=and #tblRetOutletSumm.iRegionID=4&strQuery2=and #tblRetOutletSumm.iDistrictID=8&strQuery3=2016-10-27&strQuery4=2016-10-27&strPicHeight=1&strPicWeight=1
It broke the code. It passed up to strGroupBy1 which is Greater Accra but when it came to strQuery1, it only showed me the first word which is and instead of and #tblRetOutletSumm.iRegionID=4 and all the remaining parameters threw null values.
I know the '#' tag causes the problem, so how do I pass the parameter? Or should I change a the database procedure?
Changing the '# tag' by ascii symbol solved the issue.
I changed the '#' tag by '%23' and the issue is solved.

Execute SQL Server Pass-Through Query From Access VBA

I have an UPDATE pass through query saved in Access 2007. When I double-click on the pass through query it runs successfully. How can I get this query to run from VBA? I'd like it to run when my "splash screen" loads.
I'm currently using the following code:
CurrentDb.Execute "Q_UPDATE_PASSTHROUGH", dbSQLPassThrough
But I get the following message:
The pass-through query contains all the connection information and I've confirmed the SQL syntax is correct by running it multiple times, so not sure what I'm missing in my VBA call.
Use the QueryDef's Execute method:
CurrentDb.QueryDefs("Q_UPDATE_PASSTHROUGH").Execute
I don't think you should need to explicitly include the dbSQLPassThrough option here, but you can try like this if you want it:
CurrentDb.QueryDefs("Q_UPDATE_PASSTHROUGH").Execute dbSQLPassThrough
I recently ran into the same problem. While the above mentioned Execute method is working for most cases, some people (me included) experiencing a Run-time error '3001': Invalid Argument when using the parameter dbSQLPassThrough. This was also addressed in the answer above me and happens even in the simplest SQL-statements.
For those who are having the same problem, I recommend using the OpenQuery method as alternative.
A valid substitution for the following code
CurrentDb.QueryDefs("Q_UPDATE_PASSTHROUGH").Execute
would be
DoCmd.OpenQuery "Q_UPDATE_PASSTHROUGH"
I know this thread is 4 years old, however, searching for a solution for the not working Execute method on Google brings you directly to this thread which is why I thought it would be useful to add an alternative solution which solved this problem for me.
I confirm that the QueryDef's Execute method is the recommended way to achieve your goal.
CurrentDb.QueryDefs("Q_UPDATE_PASSTHROUGH").Execute
However, I can point out that in a similar case with Access 2010, using dbSQLPassThrough for the Options parameter caused a Run-time error '3001': Invalid Argument.

DGRAPH Log report DocumentCollectionCategories::GetDocumentScore invalid parameter

I'm looking at our Dgraph.log file and I'm seeing a lot of the following errors. Can anybody point me towards the cause of it? I've verified that my property "p_sort_default" exists and is being populated with data. I'm not sure how to track down where it's being used as a parameter incorrectly.
ERROR 01/02/14 06:02:50.414 UTC DGRAPH {dgraph}: DocumentCollectionCategories::GetDocumentScore invalid parameter "p_sort_default".
This error is due to using a search interface with a dimension search. The search interface was designed to be used with a navigation query which have the parameter "p_sort_default". The dimensions do not have the parameter and are throwing the error. We are setting up a new search interface specific for the dimension search to use to clear up the error.

BeanShell PreProcessor updates User define variables

I'm very new at JMeter issues.
In a test script i have a BeanShell PreProcessor element that updates some variables previously defined at a "User Defined Variables" element.
Latter those variables are used in "Http Requests". However, the value that is used in the http request is the default one.
The scripts seems to be working due to some debug print();
My question is if it's necessary to delay the script to be sure that the BeanShell finishes?
Thanks a lot for your attention
There is no need to put any delay to Beanshell Pre-Processor as it's being executed before request. I'd recommend to check your jmeter.log file to see if there are any scripting issues as Beanshell Pre-Processor does not report errors anywhere including View Results Tree listener.
There are at least 2 ways to assure that everything is fine with your Beanshell script:
Put your debug print code after variables replace logic to see if it fires
Use JMeter __Beahshell function right in your HTTP request. If it's ok - View Results Tree will demonstrate beanshell-generated value. If not - the field will be blank and relevant error will be displayed in the log.
Example test case:
Given following Test Plan structure:
Thread Group with 1 user and 1 loop
HTTP GET Request to google.com with path of / and parameter q
If you provide as parameter "q" following beanshell function:
${__BeanShell(System.currentTimeMillis())}
and look into View Results Tree "Request" tab you should see something like:
GET http://www.google.com/?q=1385206045832
and if you change function to something incorrect like:
${__BeanShell(Something.incorrect())}
you'll see a blank request.
The correct way of changing existing variable (or creating new if variable doesn't exist) looks like
vars.put("variablename", "variablevalue");
*Important: * JMeter Variables are Java Strings, if you're trying to set something else (date, integer, whatever) to JMeter Variable you need to cast it to String somehow.
Example:
int i = 5;
vars.put("int_i", String.valueOf(i));
Hope this helps.
You can update the vale of a "user defined variable".
You have to create a bean shell sampler
vars.put("user_defined_variable", "newvalue");
#theINtoy got it right.
http://www.blazemeter.com/blog/queen-jmeters-built-componentshow-use-beanshell
I'm new to jmeter too but as I know variables defined in "User defined variables" are constants, so you can't change them. I recommend to use "User Parameters" in preprocessors or CSV Data Set Config.

Reporting Server throws an error for RunEmbeddedQuery method for XML data source

This the scenario have. There's an SSRS server that has a report where the datasource is of type XML and it uses windows authentication, nothing else to it. Inside the report there's a dataset that uses that data source with this for a query "=Code.ReportUser.GetListOfItems()". This calls a method in the custom assembly that connects to the database and returns data in a string formated like this (angle brackets changed to curly for read
"<Query><XmlData><Items>" + xmlDocument.DocumentElement.InnerXml + "</Items></XmlData></Query>"
where sql datatable is written into the xmlDocument. If I go to the reporting server through an IE and run the report everything works as it should. The Problem occures when add this link to Zangle application which runs it as "IEHOST.app 'report's url'". I believe its a foxpro app that opens a browser object and report fails on the dataset that uses my xml data source. There's no question about url or reports correctness because it functions in a different environment.
This is the server error i get:

I'm not sure what this means exactly. Any thoughts? it looks like a permission issue but i don't understand where. I did try to change xml data source authentication from windows to none and then add my AD account as an execution user on the reporting server. This didnt' change anything still working from browser but from Zangle browser object. One more thing, server requires authentication and all the report regardless of the environment promt for login and successfully authenticate so my credentials seems to pass to the server and only my xml data source is throwing an error when launched from with Zangle. Please share your ideas. I'm a programmer but I'm not too server stuff savy and I'm new to SSRS. Thank you.
Resolved. Turns out that foxpro app lowercases everything and the name of the sql server passed to the assembly doesn't match the name stored in the assembly. Silly :) So we'll be lowercase comparing everything from now on.
