I'm working through the RavenDB series on Tekpub, trying to do the same on my machine as what is going on in the videos. I'm creating the index as Oren has, with the Maps section as follows:
from user in docs.Users
from Tag in user.FavoriteTags
select new { Tag, Count = 1 }
However, when I click the "Add Reduce" button, nothing happens...nothing...it's like the click event has not registered. Any pointers as to why this may be?
Just started to investigate this problem with #kfuglsang and we found that installing:
Silverlight toolkit
- http://silverlight.codeplex.com/releases/view/43528
Silverlight 5 Developer Runtime for Windows 32-bit
- http://www.silverlight.net/downloads
on my Windows 7 x64 with Chrome v. 17 and IE 9, solved the problem.
However, we cannot account for this solution, but only observe that it seems to work.

Our desktop ERP built in VB.NET is suddenly not showing scrollbars in DataGrid control on Windows 10 after updates - KB5001337, KB5001406 (May 2021)
The space for the scrollbars appears but there are no up and down arrows visible!
Same application is showing the scrollbars in Datagrid control on Windows 7 PCs/ windows 10 without these updates.
We have multiple Datagrid controls throughout the application so need to find a fix asap
Windows.forms.Datagrid .NET Framework version 3 was used to build in VS 2010
Have already tried -
Settings -> Ease of Access-> Automatically hide scrollbars in Windows (turn off)
Tried running the ERP using Windows 7 compatibility mode
Since our network administrator istn't capable of (de)-installing any updates in a short term view, we have found a workaround for this problem:
You have to activate the XP-Styles in your Visual-Studio application settings and the scrollbars are back!
A small disadvantage is that your application looks a little bit different, but the differnce is only small.
If you uninstall KB5001337 and install KB5001566 this should resolve the issue. Windows found the KB5001566 update automatically after I uninstalled the KB5001337 update.
Yeah I was too facing this issue. I have just uninstalled this update
Got the same issue with the KB5001337 on a windows 10 Version 1909. Updating to Windows 10 Version 20H2 resolved the issue here.
I am creating calculator VBO in blueprism object studio.
In application modeller I gave calc.exe path and able to launch calculator, but I am not getting identify option to spy on any element..
In Element, After clicking Launch buttion, identify is appearing for a split of sec and Launch button is coming back instead of Identify
PS- As mentioned in videos and links, I have launched calc via application modeller not directly via windows..
I am using windows 10, BluePrism V.5.0.11.0 versionenter image description here
Windows 10 calculator is complicated case, please consider using different application in your training. For example paint is much simpler to get started.
If you really need to get that going, then you may need to launch application first, using one object, and afterwards use second object to attach and interact with it.
can be two reasons
1. Either your application is not launched properly.
2. Sometimes we face problems with some versions of applications.
The best way to fix your problem is
Edit your settings remove the application path from the navigate stage.
Launch the application separately
Open Navigate stage > Action > Attach
Provide the window title within quotes (example: "Calculator")
Click OK then run the object
Now if you go to application modeller
You will be able to see the identify button under the element.
Hope this will help you.
I resolved this by unchecking "Disable invasive techniques (hooking)".
The Windows 10 calculator runs with process name win32calc which is also located under c:\windows\system32.
So when you launch the application please make you identify the applications process name and its location
I resolved this by circumventing to windows 7 calculator instead of a windows 10 calculator on windows 10.

This will be installed in the same place as your default calculator.
Inside-
C:\Windows\System32
The name of the app in my case was "calc1.exe" to avoid collisions with the default calculator.
I used this as my base reference app for spying and it worked.
Also note, the hover to highlight button seems to be a bit buggy, try a bit hit and trail to get you required button to be highlighted and mark using "Ctrl+LeftClick"
I am experiencing a very weird behavior while running my Active-X control on “Windows 8” OS, and browser “Microsoft Internet-Explorer 10”.
The control:
My Active-X control is very stable product that my company is already distributing for several years between hundreds of happy customers. The control is an ATL custom-draw control, written in C++, and built with “Visual Studio 2008”.
The problem – the drawing disappears:
While I press the link that opens my control for the first time, I can see that my control is being painted gradually (as my data loading is sometimes slow), but eventually all the drawing disappears, leaving a blank white background color where the controls is located.
Using ‘Spy++’ I can see that my control is really there, but all its painting disappear.
If I move the browser or change its size the control will be re-painted, but otherwise it is simply not visible.
I tried to debug this problem and find out who is erasing my drawing.
I came up with the following technique:
Using WinDBG I added breakpoints at ‘user32.dll’ DLL on the following methods: user32!InvalidateRect, user32!InvalidateRgn, user32!FillRect,
I defined these methods to only show stack and continue with to run,
I ran the above problematic scenario,
When the problem happens I am trying to view who called ‘Invalidate’ or ‘FillRect’,
Since all this happens very quickly I am using the ‘Print Screen’ button to freeze the moment
After doing this several times I find that exactly at the time my control disappears the following stack calls ‘user32!FillRect’:
user32!FillRect

This is consistent.
When examining this stack I found that this message belongs to a window of class Internet Explorer_Hidden, which is window of size zero (0x0), but with a WS_VISIBLE style. This window belongs to the browser.
Does anyone know this phenomenon?
Is it possible that the browser hidden window is causing this problem?
Could you recommend on other approach to try and hunt the stack that is erasing my drawing?
Many thanks for any hint!

Conclusion:
The bug was in Microsoft Internet Explorer 10
I used Microsoft Support service to farther investigate this problem. Enclosed here are the findings:
Microsoft Support viewed the version of my IE (Internet Explorer) and suggested to first upgrade IE to its latest patch.
As it happens, the machine I was working on was not setup to be automatically updated by the Windows Update service for some time. As part of upgrading IE I had to first update windows using Windows Update service to its latest patches.
During the process of Windows Update the Microsoft Internet Explorer 10 was automatically updated to its latest patch.
Once IE updated the problem disappeared.
In addition, the ActiveX GUI load process became much faster.
The old version of Microsoft Internet Explorer 10, which caused the problem:
Version: 10.0.9200.16384
Update Versions: RTM (KB2718695)
The new version of Microsoft Internet Explorer 10, which solved the problem:
Version: 10.0.9200.16635
Update Versions: 10.0.7 (KB2846071)
Now all is working as expected.
Thanks, Pazo
I`m struggling with this for a week already. I used this example How to get started with developing Internet Explorer extensions? and it works flawlessly even in Win 7 64 bit IE 10 but not in Windows 8 64 IE 10.
It loads up correctly but just does nothing, even with a simple MessageBox put in OnDocumentComplete(). Though I found people on different forums confirming they have made it run, so all I am asking is, just an example that works.
Thanks in advance.
"Register for COM interop" tick box in the Build section of the project properties did the trick. Funny enough any other combination of software and browser works fine without it.
If I use IE I can visit the website I want and click the 'Next' button and life is good. If I open that same website using the webBrowser control and click the 'Next button I get a javascript error message.
I'm not doing anything in the code to manipulate the website. My goal, eventually, is to have some level of automation; but at this point, I get the javascript error and a pop-up and it screws everything else.
I can hide the JS error from popping up; by setting 'WebBrowser1.ScriptErrorsSuppressed = True' but the page isn't working because of the error.
The client script might be assuming a full browser is present and trying to access part of the browser outside the Document Object Model (DOM) of the page. For example, maybe the client script is trying to display something on the browser's status bar, or trying to modify a toolbar which isn't available in the WebBrowserControl. There could be numerous similar reasons.
If you do not have write-access to the web page in question to try fixing it, then play with WebBrowser Control properties such as ScriptErrorsSuppressed and ObjectForScripting
Try setting WebBrowser1 Silent property to true.
Actually, you are receiving this problem because when you run your site in IE8 or IE9 on your normal internet explorer desktop app, you are getting either IE8 or IE( rendering, depending on which you have installed. However, with the webbrowser control, unless you take the effort to change soem settings in the registry, the default rendering engine used by the webbrowser control is IE7 (if u have 7, 8 or 9 installed) and IE4 (if you have 4, 5 or 6 installed).
This is why you are having the problem, if you want help changing the rendering engine version for your webbrowser control, do a google search as there are many examples on SO, and i have provided this answer in some of my previous posts on this tag/topic. feel free to search or ask me.
Let me know how you go.
