How can I dynamically construct a textbox object reference? - vba

I asked a similar question Here and now I need to do the same thing again but this time using VBA in Excel 2010.
Essentially I have numerous text boxes with generic names (i.e. textbox1,textbox2 etc). How can I programically construct the object reference so that I can create a loop?
EDIT:
It is a regular textbox on a worksheet. When I start a sub for this worksheet I can reference the textboxes with the following line:
TextBox1.LinkedCell = "B2"

This is what your after:

Just using PasswordChar as an example field from the TextBox object, but it wouldn't actually left me Dim as a TextBox

Assigning a combobox a named list in vba

I'm trying to dynamically assign a list to every combo box based on the values of a specific combo box. The idea is that the user picks a category from the specific combobox and all other combo boxes grab the items from that category in the form of a named list.
So the structure is like
Categories
Category 1
category 2
Category 1
Item 1
Item 2
And so on. I had this working on a fake set of names, but now that I'm using real named ranges, the code breaks. It is breaking on "For Each rng In ws.Range(str)" and stating that "method 'range' of object '_worksheet' failed.
This code works. Or worked. Then I changed ws to point to a different sheet of named ranges and now nothing works.
The value of CBOCategory is any value from a list of all named ranges, but it seems like Excel isn't seeing any of them! I tried to trigger even a listfill assignment instead of adding each item and got a similar error

The code works fine. The root cause of the issue is that the named ranges were being dynamically set by a formula. The formulas were not calculating properly when the code ran, so vba could not use a dynamically set named range to find another, also dynamically set named range.
The solution is to explicitly set the named ranges. Then the code works fine.

Adding combo box across multiple cells

I need to add combo box(ActiveX Control) or Data Validation as drop down list.
I have a range of 15 values like, high, low, medium,etc...
Have created named range called "priorityvalue".
I can create a dropdown list using combo box by adding named range under ListFillRange in the properties or data validation list by giving named range.
But my concern, I need to dropdown list for 58cells with same values mentioned above. Its tedious job to create combo box for all cells. Please suggest me better option here.
Data validation list serves the purpose. However, it makes user to scroll through dropdown list on each cell unlike combo box it has no input box..
Please suggest

NOTE: There are caveats to this. Above code will reset all comboboxes in your worksheet (also, I've set the worksheet to the first worksheet in the workbook, you might want to make that dynamic). If you don't want it to reset all comboboxes and only do the ones you added via the function, you can use the name format to filter the ones you want to clear

Check whether a named textbox exist in the excel using VBA

Platform : MS Excel 2007(MS Visual Basic 6.0)
I have a few excel file with different textboxes in them.
All the textboxes were name. E.g TxTbox_AAAA, TxtBox_BBBB
Most of them have similar number of Textboxes with same name.
I also required to update the content inside the textboxes. But like i said... some excel file doesn't contain the textboxes.
E.g aaa.xls and bbb.xls have TexTbox_AAAA, TextBox_BBBB
and ccc.xls only have TexTbox_AAAA
my script is something like this
xlApp.ActiveSheet.TextBoxes("TextBox_AAAA").Text = TxtAAAA
xlApp.ActiveSheet.TextBoxes("TextBox_BBBB").Text = TxtBBBB
but if i run, it will encounter run-time error '1004':
Unable to get the TextBoxes property of the Worksheet class
which i suspect it is due to the excel doesn't have this textbox named "TextBox_BBBB"
so how do i put a check before xlApp.ActiveSheet.TextBoxes("TextBox_BBBB").Text = TxtBBBB
to check if this worksheet/activesheet doesn't contain TextBoxes("TextBox_BBBB"), it will not execute this step?
Since a TextBox is a Shape, here is one way to tell if a specific TextBox is on the activesheet:

Get the selected value of a activex combobox using vba

How do i get the selected value of the combobox?
i have a combobox which has the values: "Corporate" and "Consumer".
I want to get the value that i selected, not the index, and store in a string.
something like this:

If your ComboBox is embedded in a spreadsheet you can use this:

Value has a capital "V" in VBA, but assuming combobox is the name of the ComboBox you created on the screen, the code you have will work (except that your assignment statement is wrong; see below). If you don't know what the name of the ComboBox is, it is likely ComboBox1. To check, look at the Name property in the VBA properties window.
Try this:

How do I refer to a controls object, on a worksheet, using a variable name?

I have added a ListBox to a SHEET (not to a "UserForm")
I did this using the mouse.
I clicked the little Hammer and Wrench icon.
This ListBox seems to be easily referenced using code such as this:
ListBox1.Clear
or
ListBox1.AddItem("An option")
However, I have three of these ListBoxes (named, conveniently, ListBox1, ListBox2, and ListBox3) and I want to write a function to populate them with array data, like this:
Call populate_listbox(ListBox2, designAreaArray)
Where the first argument is the listbox name, the 2nd is the data.
But I do not know how to send "ListBox2" correctly, or refer to it correctly within the function.
For example:

controlName = "ListBox1"
doesn't work, even if I define the function as follows:

Worksheet.Shapes.
The list goes on an on, and nothing has worked for me.
Try this:

Also you can populate a listbox without having to loop through the array, try this:

Set cMyListbox = Sheet1.ListBox1
vArray = Range("A1:A6").Value
cMyListbox.List = vArray
Change the sub signature to match this:
Sub populate_listbox(LB As MSForms.ListBox, dataArray As Variant)
Now you can pass it like you were trying to originally.
NOTE: This only works if you used the "ActiveX" version of the listbox. I'm assuming you are because you are able to call ListBox1 straight from a module.
PS: The ActiveX controls are members off of the parent sheet object. So if you have the listbox1 on sheet1, you can also call it like Sheet1.ListBox1 so you don't get confused if you end up with multiple sheets with multiple listboxes. Also, you may want to change the name just to make it easier on yourself.
