working in rails, and am trying the command 'rails g spree:site' as described in section 4.5 of the Spree getting Started Guide. not sure what the problem is, I am running rails 3.1.1.rc2 on a windows 7 platform. The error is below.

I had the same problem with rails 3.1. The solution was to put the following lines in my GEMFILE:
# ===:git with the repository's url that works=== #
gem 'spree', :git => 'git://github.com/spree/spree.git'
This should help in your case, too.
#jhsilva007 : Specifying this line ( gem 'spree', :git => 'git://github.com/spree/spree.git' )
definitely helped me resolving of error.
I think this line will get the latest version of the spree from github. What if I just want the particular version number of spree. I mean I don't like to get the beta version.

I've recently moved over from the ruby-aaws gem to asin gem, which is a lot simpler to use and understand. However, I've encountered a really strange issue that's causing search failures for specific queries and only on heroku.
My code is the following:
require 'asin'
client = ASIN::Client.instance
client.search(:Keywords => "Shark Tale", :SearchIndex => :UnboxVideo, :ResponseGroup => :ItemAttributes)
When this runs on my local box, it works perfect without issue. However, when I run this on heroku, I see the following error logs:

This fails around 9 out of 10 times on Heroku. I tried a few variations and some of the following variations succeed all the time:
Change the query slightly
client.search(:Keywords => "Shark Tales", :SearchIndex => :UnboxVideo, :ResponseGroup => :ItemAttributes)
Change the ResponseGroup
client.search(:Keywords => "Shark Tale", :SearchIndex => :UnboxVideo, :ResponseGroup => :Offers)
Does anyone know what's causing this?
Realized that the discrepancy between my local box and heroku is with ruby version.
I'm using 1.9.3 on local box whereas my heroku setting is 2.0.0
This is a solution for 2.0.0 from the author of the asin gem

Ever since we updated to Rails 3.2.13 we've been unable to start the heroku rails console. The server is working just fine, but when we try to run the console, it gives the following error:

What is going on? Thanks!
Just experienced this myself. As it turns out the rb-readline gem bumped a version that causes rails console, and other things to fail. Try locking it to '~> 0.4.2'.

Thank you.
The Problem is this section in v0.12.0 (the one you are using) https://github.com/drapergem/draper/blob/v0.12.0/lib/draper/railtie.rb#L5-L8
When I look at the master branch they changed to code to look like: https://github.com/drapergem/draper/blob/master/lib/draper/railtie.rb#L5-L10
You should upgrade your draper gem to the latest release and see if the error still occurs.
It seems like I'm having the same issue as the person the OP for:
https://github.com/seyhunak/twitter-bootstrap-rails/issues/27
but I have not been able to fix it.
Doing a basic rails app like described in:
http://railscasts.com/episodes/328-twitter-bootstrap-basics
fails with trying to rails g bootstrap:install.
The base versions of r/r on my system are:
ruby v 1.9.2p320,
rails 3.1.0
on snow leopard 10.6.4
The way I can replicate on my local system:
rails new bsapp --skip-stylesheets
cd bsapp
rails g scaffold product name:string price:decimal --skip-stylesheets
add gem 'twitter-bootstrap-rails' to the assets group in gemfile.
bundle update
rails g bootstrap:install
This is where the problem is.
Hayk-Saakians-Mac:bsapp hayk$ rails g bootstrap:install

The root of the problem was a bad/old/nonexistent installation of v8/therubyracer/libv8
Certain versions of the libv8 gem just straight up failed to install, and the ones that did -- they took several hours, so I assumed they were hanging/crashing (I am working with a netbook, so that could be expected).
At the moment, the following configuration works for me:
gem "libv8", "3.11.8.13"
gem "therubyracer", :require => 'v8'
gem "less-rails"
gem "twitter-bootstrap-rails"
in development, and in production (heroku)
There was a github issue on either rubyracer or libv8 related to this that mentioned issues with x86/32bit processors -- i don't remember it offhand.
I upgraded from rails 3.0.0 to 3.0.11 (don't want to move to 3.1 yet, for various reasons)
I changed the following in my Gemfile:
-gem 'rails', '3.0.0'
-gem 'mysql2', "0.2.6"
+gem 'rails', '3.0.11'
+gem 'mysql2', "~>0.2.7"
Fired up console and tried:
PopularMedia.where(:media_type => 1).all
and got this:
ActiveRecord::StatementInvalid: Mysql2::Error: Table 'matcha_development.popular_media' doesn't exist: SELECT `popular_media`.* FROM `popular_media` WHERE `popular_media`.`id` = 1

Worked fine before, so what could possibly be the problem?
When I have issues like these, what I usually do is make a new project using the newer rails gem. This way, I can look at the Gemfile that is produced and compare it to the old one that I have and then proceed to update it accordingly.
Also, be sure to run bundle install after changing anything in your Gemfile.
If you forget, it can usually be the reason you are having the problem.
I hope that helps you fix your issue.
