rdlc doesn't load fonts - reportviewer

I have a rdlc report which is created in server (IIS) and then delivered to client after converting it to PDF.
all things are ok when I run the site on my local IIS but when running the web site on the server(win2003) , my special fonts are not rendered correctly. I copied all the fonts I have in my local windows\fonts folder to the server font folder but nothing changed.
Did I missed something?

oh my god! restarting the server+disabling the anti-virus solved my problems. because of doing these two jobs at the same time , I don't know what the source of the problem exactly was. but as described in http://blogs.msdn.com/b/donovans/archive/2007/07/20/reporting-services-pdf-renderer-faq.aspx I need to restart after installing new fonts! so strange but solved my problem after about 6 hours!

.war file deployed on weblogic server contains files (js,css) with duplicated content

I am facing a weird issue and I have no idea what is the cause of the problem. Specifically I am deploying my application (.war file) locally on Oracle WebLogic Server successfully.
When I open my application on the browser everything works fine. Suddenly I noticed that some of the recourses files (mine js,css files as well as libraries files) contains duplicated content as you can see the below picture
I tried open my application on multiple browser but still the problem exists.
I have also deployed the application on Payara server and I am not facing the issue but when I deployed it on WebLogic this issue occurred. So is this an oracle bug? Does someone else faced this problem too ?
Notice: I am using WebLogic 14c but the same issue exist in older versions too(12c).

wkhtmltopdf hangs on 10% and does not generate PDF

I'm using WKHtmlToPdf to generate some docs here at work, in internal applications, for over one and half year without any problem. Some applications are coded in C++, some in AutoIt3, and today, after restarting all the computers due to external reasons (power generator would be tested), wkhtmltopdf stopped working on all machines at my company.
I can't even run it from command line. Whether I try to convert a webpage or a local HTML file, it always hangs on 10%. All our machines are Windows 8 32 bits and runs their own install (the applications aren't running under a network share).
I tried downloading wkhtmltopdf again from the website, installing it, etc, but nothing worked. I also tried adding --disable-javascript option, which also didn't work. Cleaning %TEMP% folder did not help too.
I never faced anything like this. All the machines were restarted normally, going to start menu, etc. And it does not look like a network issue, since I'm accessing internet to write this, and we are a small company, we use a standard Wi-Fi router, just like your house. Nothing was changed, no file deleted, no Windows update, no network settings... just a restart. I saw some guys facing the same problem when trying to run wkhtmltopdf from PHP, but in this case, I have this problem even by running it from DOS, as anyone would do.
wkhtmltoimage is working fine. Just wkhtmltopdf stopped working.

In my case, wkhtmltopdf was hanging on files locally stored after the progress counter had made an initial jump to the percentage corresponding to 1 page. It turned out that I had an http_proxy variable set to some unaccessible proxy server. Clearing this environment variable solved the issue.

VB.NET Windows 7 64bit Write File in C:\Windows\System32

I'm having a massive problem trying to write a file into the c:\windows\system32 directory. The code works fine on 32 bit machines, however does not work on 64 bit machines.
My user account is an administrator on the machine, and even right clicking and choosing to run the app as administrator does not solve the issue.
When writing the file, no exception is thrown, but the file is not written.
I have read various posts regarding adding an app.manifest file containing the requestedExecutionLevel node to my solution, but as yet am unable to get this to work. I have a feeling this may be because I'm using vb.net rather than c#.net
Has anybody encountered this issue before? I'd be delighted if somebody could provide an example VS2010 VB.Net project with a correctly configured app.manifest file as I'm a little unsure whether my attempts at setting this up are correct.
(also, this is not a malicious app I am writing, I'm working on a version control app for our team and need to be able to interface with IIS files held in c:\windows\system32\inetsrv\config).

Maybe the file is written under UAC Virtualization and located under C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Windows\System32

Issue in hosting a webapplication in a local machine

I have developed a webapplication in my local machine. the application is hosted on tomcat 7.0.22 server. the application is accessed using http://localhost:8080/app
When i use this in my localmachine, I am not facing any problems. But when I intend to share the link with my fellow team mates using the links http://myipaddress:8080/app, I am getting Javascript errors. I placed the js files in the build path of the application.
Even i have noticed the tables width are changed in the same browser
I am unable to find the problem. Can any one help

When testing on your own machine, use your own IP instead of "localhost" and should be able to compare apples with apples and avoid confusing cause and effect.
I would say to check the configuration of your host or vhost files, but if all included JS files are on the same host, that is unlikely to be the problem.
My guess is that you hard coded a path somewhere or that the problem is related to some other difference between testing from your machine and their machine (different browser, versions, plugins, etc) and not actually related at all to the domain. Could possibly also be a file permission problem (but that is a wild guess).

ClickOnce Online-Only Application as a TS RemoteApp

I've attempted just about everything to get our ClickOnce VB.NET app to run under Terminal Services as a RemoteApp. I have a batch file that runs the .application file for the app.
This works fine via RDP desktop session on the terminal server. As a TS RemoteApp, however, well... not so much.
I get a quick flash of command prompt (the batch file) on the client system and then... nothing...
Same goes for having it point to the .application file directly (without using a batch file) or even copying the publication locally and having it point to that.
I found a technet.microsoft.com discussion about a similar issue, but there's no resolution to it listed.
For anyone who has run into this before and got it working, what did you have to do?
We currently use RemoteApp's for everything else on that server, so I'm hoping to stick with that if possible.
The current workaround is to build and run an MSI-based installer for the app on our terminal server whenever we publish via OneClick out to the network, but this can be quite a pain at times and is easy to forget to do.
Since the app works fine via Terminal Services when run in full desktop mode but not during RemoteApp, I don't think it's anything specific to Terminal Server permissions so much as ClickOnce requiring something that isn't available when running as a RemoteApp.
The Key to getting it to work is to use Windows Explorer "C:\windows\explorer.exe". This process is the base process when you login to a full session.
If you setup the RemoteApp to use Windows Explorer and the command line argument of the path to the .application file for the ClickOnce application then it will work when launched as a remote application. Windows Explorer will flash for a second when it starts, but it will disappear then the ClickOnce application will launch.
Why does it have to be a ClickOnce application? I would consider just deploying the exe file and assemblies.
I know it only half a solution, but if the application does not change much, it might be a good solution.
I believe your problem is related to the fact that ClickOnce needs to store it's data in a special user folder called the ClickOnce application cache. Apparently because of how Terminal Services sets up user folders ClickOnce can't access this in TerminalServices mode.

Can you launch the .exe directly? It's buried under your profile in \AppData\Local\Apps\2.0[obfuscated folders], but you should be able to find it.
That will skip the built-in update process, but if it can be launched that way you could then write code to do a manual update after the application starts.
Faced the same problem this morning and got it resolved by copying the clickonce app's directory from the user settings folder to somewhere like c:\MyApp\ - I know its nasty and not very ideal.. but good enough for me!
We recently ran across this issue and decided to post a bug report on this issue to the Visual Studio development team. Feel free to comment on the bug report. It has to be a bug in ClickOnce caused by some changes in Server 2008.

Try using RegMon and FileMon when starting the app - You may be able to track it down to a file and/or registry permission issue.
Also maybe check the event logs to see if anything's getting logged when the process fails.
