I want to make a app which can create a new event and send it to other persons.
So I thought it might be possible to create an ics-File of an EKEvent and send it away via email.
But I don't know how to create such a file from an EKEvent.
How does it work?
Thanks.
There are no methods of EKEvent which allows you to save it to file. The only way I see is to create file on your own, it should have VCalendar format. Just save event to file from iCal and see what it has inside.
I suppose I'm late, but... I found a category that converts an EKEvent to an .ics file. I haven't tested yet: https://github.com/mysterioustrousers/EKEventToiCal
Late answer:
The file format is defined here: http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2445.txt Since this is the official definition, it is a long document.

i'm facing one problem about attaching movieclip from loaded movie, so basically we have a Map
Map.loadMovie("SimpleMap.swf");
in this map there's a npc dialogue with its name "Dialogue1" I want to attach it to the client. It should be basically something like
_root.attachMovie("Map.Dialogue1", "dialogue", _root.getNextHighestDepth());
but it seems I can't get it to work. Anyone can help?
Note: Also I want to attach the movieclip to the client instead of the map, else I would use Map.attachMovie
it's been a while since I wrote any Actionscript 2 stuff, but have you tried removing the quotes around Map.Dialogue1 ? - If I remember correctly passing a string would make Flash look for the symbol in the library, not from the global or current scope...
_root.attachMovie(Map.Dialogue1, "dialogue", _root.getNextHighestDepth());
If you want you can import mx.core.UIObject and then use the method _root.createObject() (or if it is O-O use createClassObject()).
It is going to attach the "npc dialog" as an object... you need to specify the linkage name and give the instance a name. So for example if you called the dialog "npc_dialog" in the library then use:
_root.createObject("npc_dialog", "my_npc", _root.getNextHighestDepth());
Here is something else you can try... go to the library and drag a instance of the movie onto the stage somewhere where it will not be seen, like for instance on the next key frame or off the stage then try to run attachMovie().
What happens is flash will compile the clip in the most efficient way possible so if it sees you imported a package but did not use it then it will ignore this class in the compiled clip... so when you go to run and it tries to attach the movie it can't find it.
I want to define a number of xml formatted strings in resource file and use the strings in qml code. Is it possible? How to do it? I would be really appreciated any example.
As I know there is no way to store strings in resource file. But you still do that in another way.
First way: create language file with qt translation tool. As bonus you can store string in several languages.
Using in QML is very easy:
Text {
text: qsTr("myTextId");
}
See that link for more info.
Second way: store each string in different resource file.
But in this case you need to extend QML with C++ plugin to get ability to read files.
See that link for more info.
How to show Quick Help for the methods which we wrote ...?
Like for inbuilt function when we right click on it & Click Quick Help then we get all info about that method like that I want to do for user defined methods so that any one come to know that method takes which parameter and each parameter for which purpose?

Here is a solution for that. Also check apple documentation. You might have to create document set and install it in Xcode.
Edit: Here is another similar post, How do you populate the Xcode 4 "Option+Click" popover?
There is an open source tool called appledoc which helps with this. You can provide your own documentation in the header files and then run the appledoc script which will (depending on your settings) generate the docsets, install them into Xcode, create a HTML for the documentation as well as rss feeds so that changes to the documentation can be published.
I'm creating an iOS5 app (programmed in Objective-C) which provides a couple of functions. One of them is to allow a user to fill out a text field with JavaScript. When the user presses a "Test" button, I want it to save to a specific JS file and move to a new view, displaying an HTML page that will display the results of that JavaScript on a canvas element.
Unfortunately for me, I have no idea how to save to a JS file for a text field. Nor do I know if this is actually the best way to achieve the results I'm after.
So can anyone tell me the code I'd need to place in the IBAction of my test button to save the file, or if there is a better way to get the user's script into the HTML file with the canvas element?
You have some options to do that.
Add a callback in WebView is possible only in desktop apps, but you can make a workaround.
1- Set a handler to click in javascript;
2- This handler parse the value via windows.location (trying to change the current url);
3- In UIWebviewDelegate set webView:shouldStartLoadWithRequest:navigationType: to recognize this values parsed by javascript and returning NO (canceling the url change).
After you have the code typed by user, is easier pass to the new one UIWebView. You can save the file via NSData or other class and load in by the path, or you can parse directly the code to be showed via NSString.
EDIT
I, still, belive what I said is what you want, but with a little more info. Yes, 3 NSString probably solve your problem. You even can call eval in javascript, via objective-c and parse user code too. Those logic ideas are a good approaching. You can choose the easier for you.
There are more info in this another Q&A
You can use html 5 local storage for that.
I followed this nice article
http://www.lunatech-research.com/playframework-file-upload-blob
and have a perfectly working image upload solution
My questions is, if the user doesn't select any image, how do I assign a default image during save (probably stored in the server)?
if (!user.photo)
user.photo= ?;
user.save();
The one-hack that I can think of is upload the default image and see which UID "Play" stores in the /tmp directory and assign that above. Is there an elegant named* solution to this?
when I say named, I mean I want the code to look like (which means I know what I'm doing and I can also write elegant automated code if there are more than one picture)
user.photo= "images/default/male.jpg"
rather than (which means I'm just hacking and I can't extend it elegantly for a list of pictures)
user.photo= "c0109891-8c9f-4b8e-a533-62341e713a21"
Thanks in advance
The approach I have always taken is to not change the model for empty images, but instead do something in the view to show a default image, if the image does not exist. This I think is a better approach because your are corrupting your model for display purposes, which is bad practice (as you may want to be able to see all those who have not selected an image, for example).
To achieve this, in your view you can simply use the exists() method on the Blob field. The code would look like
#{if user.photo.exists()}
<img src="#{userPhoto(user.id)}">
#{/if}
#{else}
<img src="#{'public/images/defaultUserImage.jpg'}">
#{/else}
I have assumed in the above code that you are rendering the image using the action userPhoto as described in the Lunatech article.
I'd assume you can store the default image somewhere in your applications source folder and use
user.photo.set(new FileInputStream(photo), MimeTypes.getContentType(photo.getName()));
to save the data. Photo is just a File object, so you can get the reference of your default image and use it.
