MSDN subscription licence and Enterprise Agreements - msdn

MSDN subscriptions give a developer access to Visual Studio 2010 and the latest Microsoft platforms for development and testing access.
The Microsft MSDN subscription whitepaper says that MSDN licenses obtained thru an "Enterprise Agreement" (where a company buys volume named licenses on behalf of many employees) cannot be used after license expiry (i.e. they do not have Perpetual Use Rights).
I would like to know if this is a technical limitation - i.e. the product will not work after the license expires. Or whether Microsoft is relying on the licence owner to simply stop the using the product the day it expires.
(P.S. A moderator closed off this issue when I raised it yesterday saying it had nothing to do with programming. Any one who has ever used an MSDN subscription knows that it has a lot to do with programming. Looking the FAQ page, my question satisfies "software tools commonly used by programmers". My question is relevant to all Microsoft developers.)

The Microsft MSDN subscription whitepaper (Version: August 2011) says:
Generally, MSDN subscriptions that do not provide perpetual use rights
include: MSDN subscriptions purchased through Enterprise Agreement
Subscription, Open Value Subscription, Campus Agreement, or other
“subscription” Volume Licensing programs
The Volume Licensing programs Open Subscription and Open are different.
Volume Licensing Subscriptions are like "renting" the right to use the software.

"The Microsft MSDN subscription whitepaper says that MSDN licenses

True for Enterprise subscription (it's like a lease - none of the licenses under that program are perpetual unless you do a buyout at the end of the term). Not true for the regular Enterprise Agreement. Those licenses are perpetual. You'd lose rights to get further updates or media, but you'd still be able to use what you had during the term of the agreement.

Dropbox Extensions - Is it possible to create/publish a Dropbox Extension?

I'm currently assigned to create a Dropbox Extension.
This is a new feature that Dropbox released last November 2018, here's their article.
I read the Dropbox API documentation. I created a Business trial account (Advance). However, there was nothing about the submission/publishing of extensions.
I also stumbled upon the Dropbox Partners Portal and successfully registered a Tech Partner Account for the company I'm working in. Unfortunately, I also did not found anything about the extensions.
I think this portal is not maintained anymore because:
General, Marketing, and Technical resources are not available. (even the Welcoming Resources also does not exist)
The copyright year in the footer also displays 2017.
There is no KYC, or some kind of evaluation process to verify if the information given is authentic.
I could be wrong though (For those who actually know, please link an article or announcement).
So is this new feature only for companies chosen by Dropbox?
Will this ever be open to the public submissions/publishing?
Or maybe this is already open to the public and I'm just looking in the wrong places?

What data access do JetBrains third-party plugins have?

I'm considering installing a third-party plugin inside IntelliJ IDEA to add support for another programming language. I have to accept the following message. What access to my personal data does the developer of the plugin get?
The vendor is a single person and he does not provide information regarding data processing.
Not sure if this helps, but JetBrains mentions at the end, in the
User Agreement
that
2.14. "Personal Data" means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.
JetBrains further explains what personal data means to them in
Personal Data and Why We Collect Data and What We Collect.
Jetbrains how ever explicitly states in this section
THIRD-PARTY SOFTWARE, that it will not be held responsible for Third party software.

Skype for Business APP SDK general availability

I already know this is not the ideal place to ask this, but it's all I have.
Any idea when will the final version be available?
Also, can you share any licensing details for the public release?
Thanks.
[See this page for other ways to communicate with the Microsoft team. The email or 'uservoice' routes might be better for this type of question.]
There is no current date for the final version: this will depend on feedback received on the preview version.
As per the license.pdf in the SDK download, the App SDK can be used (without additional cost) to join any Skype for Business meeting that is also attended by a licensed Skype for Business user (via another client).

develop mobile application - payment information

We are about to develop new mobile application that requires the end user to fill his payment information, which will be redirected to a third party’s portal to pay for a certain services through the application ( using Web Services )
user send billing information using web services , Is this legal for apple ?
It's OK to integrate 3rd party credit card payment systems in your app (for example PayPal, Amazon payments, etc. or your own system) as long as you do not sell services, extensions, etc. to your app. As you say you're going to sell physical goods, it is OK for Apple. Amazon app does the same thing. Btw it is even explicitly prohibited to use in-app payments to sell physical goods.
EDIT: more answer to the detailed questions in the comment
IMHO (see disclaimer):
Shipping fees of physical goods and signup fees for your physical service are NOT services or extensions - in the sense that Apple uses it, it applies only to some additional features to your application, for example a new level in a game or a new map in a mapping app
to be legally store, transmit, process credit card information, you will have to be compliant to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. Here Apple has nothing to do, but both Visa and Mastercard (and maybe also other card issuers) require that you implement these practices if you wish to process credit card data of their cards
this last requirement might be tricky so I really suggest you to look for some ready solution instead of implementing your own. See also the first answer to this question: Use In App Purchase For Real Goods
DISCLAIMER: I am not a legal authority or somebody from Apple so I can give you just hints but not a legal advice - will have to ask a lawyer for an "official" answer :)

MSDN Subscription for the lone developer

I'm looking to get an MSDN Subscription and I see a number of sites offering 2 year subscriptions versions. Are these sites offering a regular version that I can buy or are they for Software Assurance customers only? I don't want to buy one and find out I cannot activate it because I'm not associated with a company that has SA.
I checked with Microsoft and these subscriptions are genuine.
You may want to check out Microsoft's Empower program for ISVs. I'm not sure if you qualify (I believe you need to be incorporated and developing a commercial product or service), but the cost savings may be worth the hoop jumping. Note that it appears to be ending in May of 2010 (transitioning to another program).
