How can I create a PDF dynamically in a Java based Google App Engine application?
I want this to be done from a java-based application (I saw similar questions asked already but those were for Python based applications).
Regards,
Arvind.
See this for a write up of some options.
EDIT: http://pdfjet.com/ appears to be the only library that is fully AppEngine-compatible.

I want to write a program to do some specific task in a website (ie: Auto order, auto login and post some comments). But i don't know what language or framework can help me do that.
If you know plase help me.
It sounds like you want to automate some user actions on a website, for that Selenium/Webdriver is the best library/framework if you want to do it on a Desktop or Appium if you want to do it on mobile.
Seeing as you are a beginner I would also recommend to use Python as its not only easy to get started with but its also one of the better languages in current times for anything related to automation.
I actually have multiple playlists that teach:
beginner to senior concepts in Selenium
beginner Appium concepts
how to build an advanced framework in Appium
Is it possible to integrate a webkit engine in a java application.
Here is my thinking, I would like to implement my User Interface using javascript and business logic in Java and want to communicate back and forth between the js and java. I have looked at titanium and chromiumembedded. But i dont get the complete picture. Can anyone give me a good explanation of webkit being used in a standalone application.
There are a few solutions, the main one being for SWT. See here for the SWT solution. There was a similar question here referring to SWING.
Edit: Oh my, I can't believe I forgot Lobo, a browser written in Java. More Specifically, their Browser API providers support for embedding. This seems to be the better solution for cross-platform and possibly stability. I'm not 100% sure on the first two solutions' development. Hope that provides some insight.
JavaFX 2 has an embedded browser component based on Webkit. There is a tutorial provided by Oracle here.
I'm planning to generate sharepoint report for iphone/ipad is there any crystal reports type reporting tool available for ios (iphone/ipad) ?
I doubt there are reporting tools for iOS, but I'd consider these options:
Prepare the report on a server and present it in an imageview or web view.
Find a JavaScript reporting library and present the report in a web view. I know you can pass the data to the web view. I think the way to do it is by passing the web view some additional JavaScript to process.
I've developed a framework to make PDF Reports on iOS devices. Actually I'm working on updating it with new features.
If you're interested it is downloadable from this link: https://github.com/htsoft/RSReport
You can find other informations here: http://www.htmedia.it

I'm also facing this problem Salman.
Another solution to Noa's one may be to use charts libraries for iOS as CorePlot for example, and pass the charts/graphs to some UIView. You can then easily export it as PNG or PDF.
But in my case, it's not satisfying and I'm looking for real embedded reports solutions...
If you need a powerful reporting engine, you most likely will need to call a server as suggested by noa to do the complex work. Alternatively you can create PDFs by code using iOS libraries and write the report-logic yourself. Another option is to call a web service (like Docmosis) that can generate and deliver documents without having to code the report layout.
I have been a SQL writer using MS Access some years ago and have been given an IPad upon my retirement. I want to create simple database driven apps using SQL. I have downloaded SQL Lite editor from the Apps Store but it seems to have a big chunk of something missing.
Question. Do I need to have an Apple computer as a workstation and then copy to the iPad, or can I use my Windows 7 PC as the authoring tool.
Where do I find the tools for creating the graphics to enhance database search results?
Do I need to use C or C++ to create the application, as I never got around to learning it.
Odd questions I know, but google searches seem to leave me totally in the dark on this topic, yet I geel that most app's seem to revolve around some database manipulation. Would be helpful if I could find a series fo links somehwere.
best regards

Hi
In order to develop native applications to ios devices you need the XCode environment and knowledge in objective c, its a bit odd and there are examples.
for that you will need a mac or run the mac os on a virtual box.
You can also create a non native app such as webapp using HTML5 and js and then import it to the XCode using Phonegap.
By using this method you will be able to create apps for many devices such as android and more and all you will have to do is to import your HTML5 and js into the supporting environment.
Just to warn you about these kind of apps, app store allows only native apps and its better to make native app because it will pass every inspection they make.
Thanks
yes, to develop on Apple's engine, you have to had an Apple computer. However, you can mount a virtual machine running OS X, but it's illegal and very complicated (but doable).
The "bible" for mac developers is here : http://developer.apple.com/.
It's recommanded to write your application in Objective C.
I see a lot of new websites lately which create automated content, most notable SiteGuruji and 7zoom:
http://www.siteguruji.com/site/youtube.com
Is there an application framework or text analysis framework available to create such sites? SiteGuruji is doing full SEO analysis of the sites as well. Is there an SEO analysis library available? How do I do such an analysis?
Sorry for the noobish question, but i am new to programming and thus I am not sure which direction to start in.
By SEO did you mean this section of the page?
http://www.siteguruji.com/site/youtube.com#seo_status ?
I don't think any frameworks are available for SEO... however you can check out NLTK for text analysis and natural language processing:
http://www.nltk.org/book
You basically need to write your own classes to scrape content from the site and third party sites and analyse it. I have not found something ready for this. Bits fom here and there, you can use.
Personally, I have created everything from scratch using zend framework as basis.
