How to add value with zen coding? - input

I like to add value when I type zen coding. For example, input:text becomes :. How do I make it so that input:text becomes and place keyboard cursor between '' of value property?

#Moon
Here is a trick that I use.
select>option#$*5 // this would give the following HTML <select>
<select>
<option id="1"></option>
<option id="2"></option>
<option id="3"></option>
<option id="4"></option>
<option id="5"></option>
</select>
then, you select the whole <select> block in your text editor.
Then, replace all "<option id" with "<option value".
Cheers :-)

If you ment the value by defining what value should be wrapped (between open and closing tags), then use following pattern
b{this is a bold text}
which results to
<b>this is a bold text</b>
Allthough I'm not aware of the editors and IDE's supporting this feature, but all I can say is it works for IntelliJ and Notepad++.

Adding this table>tr*5>td*5>lorem10
Will generate:
<table>
<tr>
<td>Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit. Quia, aperiam.</td>
<td>Sit eius temporibus optio reprehenderit itaque blanditiis harum consectetur rerum.</td>
<td>Ex, odit, nostrum quia nemo consequuntur quisquam corrupti ipsam quis.</td>
<td>Voluptatibus, cum, aspernatur rem officia recusandae similique saepe praesentium nulla.</td>
<td>Labore, obcaecati iure rerum beatae dignissimos fugit sapiente! Sequi, fugit.</td>

<td>Nobis, illum ex excepturi quaerat mollitia animi vero repellat quam.</td>
</tr>
</table>

As far as I know, you can't - at least not in the default Zen Coding standard. There is at least one project that tries to add values and some rudimentary logic (like looping) to Zen Coding though, see https://github.com/zodoz/jquery-ZenCoding. This is a Javascript implementation, mind.

You can add attributes to tags using the square brackets, so writing input:text[value] would create <input type="text" name="|" id="|" value="|"> — the input with three places for placeholders, two generic, that come with :text and the value attribute which comes from [value].

Something I used once ..
select>option[value=$].gameSize${$x$}*10
will generate
<select name="" id="">
<option value="1" class="gameSize1">1x1</option>
<option value="2" class="gameSize2">2x2</option>
<option value="3" class="gameSize3">3x3</option>
<option value="4" class="gameSize4">4x4</option>
<option value="5" class="gameSize5">5x5</option>
<option value="6" class="gameSize6">6x6</option>
<option value="7" class="gameSize7">7x7</option>
<option value="8" class="gameSize8">8x8</option>
<option value="9" class="gameSize9">9x9</option>
<option value="10" class="gameSize10">10x10</option>
</select>
So, $ would expand to corresponding number...wherever you put it!
I was using Emmet plugin with Sublime Text 2.

<footer class="sticky bottom-0 h-12 w-full bg-white">footer</footer>
</div>
Everything is fine until I try this on real mobile device, then the main content is a bit cropped and it is not what I want.
This is what I got:
My project is in Vue3.
If you are using flex-col, you don't need to use sticky or absolute positioning for your header and footer. They just need to be stacked inside the flex and your content section set to flex-1 to take up all of the available remaining vertical space. adding overflow-hidden on <main> and moving the scrollbar into the green container should fix the scrollbar issue. For example:
<template>
<div class="flex h-screen flex-col">
<header class="h-12 w-full bg-white">header</header>
<main class="flex-1 bg-blue-200 p-4 overflow-hidden">
<div class="h-full rounded-xl bg-green-200 p-4 overflow-y-scroll ">
<p class="h-full rounded-xl p-4">
...
</p>
</div>
</main>
<footer class="h-12 w-full bg-white">footer</footer>
</div>
</template>
This removes the h-space from your content wrapper which will hopefully resolve the issue you are seeing on mobile devices.
Also, replacing overflow-scroll with overflow-y-scroll will get rid of the internal horizontal scrollbar.

What is overriding a media query?

I am practicing with css-grid and media queries. When I add the media query for max-width 768px nothing happens when I shrink the screen to that size and I still see the 4 columns instead of the 2 I am trying to apply.
I am using Visual Studio Code and the live server. I already tried opening the html directly in Finder (I am using mac os), i have refreshed the page and still have the same issue.
Something is overriding that media query when I have a screen size under 768px and when I inspect the file I see these messages below. How can I solve this or what am I doing wrong here?
Very thankful for any help!
body {
background: green;
}
.grid {
display: grid;
grid-template-columns: repeat(4, auto);
grid-gap: 1rem;
}
#media (max-width: 768px) {
.grid {
display: grid;
grid-template-columns: repeat (2, auto);
}
}
<body>

There is a space between the word repeat and the opening bracket. Remove that and all should be OK.
The yellow warning triangle shows that something was wrong with that line.

Unwanted space in table cell when another cell has a tag within it

I'm having trouble understanding why the two chunks of HTML below render differently. The yellow and pink table is missing a BR tag, and flows efficiently, the green and blue table has the <BR> tag in the middle of the text in the blue cell, and has unwanted space in the green cell. I've tried rendering as flex boxes and tables, and they render the same way. I've tried different browsers, and they render the same way.
What rule is being followed in the green and blue layout that causes the whitespace in the green cell?
How can I get rendering like the yellow-and-pink case and use <BR> tags? I'm actually after <P> tags, but let's just talk about <BR> tags, which I figure are the most simple case.
<html><body>
<div style="display: flex; flex-flow: row;">
<div style="background-color: green;">

Screenshot:
If a height is assigned to a div, the whitespace is not removed (see the darker green below), and if a <br> tag is allowed into a table which has a height on the cell, the whitespace is split between the top and bottom of the cell (see the lighter green below) - but the height attribute doesn't affect the rendering anyway:
This behaviour is exhibited in FireFox 80.0 and Chrome Version 85.0.4183.83
Here's what's going on:
Inside of the div with display: flex; flex-flow: row you have two children, the green and the blue divs.
The browser calculates their individual widths (it's the width because flex-flow: row) as follows:
The calculation of the green div's width is straight forward. It's the width of the whole text on one line.
=> greenWidth
The calculation of the blue div is a little bit more involved because of the <br>. This causes the text to be split in two. The browser then calculates the widths of these two bits of text that they would take on one line each. Then it takes the wider of these.
=> blueWidth
Both, the green and the blue box have their default value for flex-basis which is auto. For the green box, the browser takes greenWidth and for the blue box it takes blueWidth as the result of auto.
I still haven't come up with an actual solution but maybe, based on the above, you might be able to figure something out.
In the flex-box the items are stretched to the height of the container (if height of items is not defined). However, You can change this behaviour by gibing the green div a height.
Suppose the height is 100px;
<html><body>
<div style="display: flex; flex-flow: row;">
<div style="background-color: green; height: 100px;">
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor

Christian pointed in the right direction. Understanding that the problem is down to sizing being affected by tags, I allowed the browser to size the un-tagged content, but hid its rendering.
The "solution" is to have two text bodies, one rendering with tags and the other without. The text without tags is color:transparent; and positioned with normal text flow. The text with tags is rendered on top of the document text flow in the location of the transparent text by using a z-index higher than the normal text. There is a chance that the text with tags will overflow the table, so layout your page with this possibility under consideration (or pad the text without tags a little):
<html><body>
<div style="display: flex; flex-flow: row;">
<div style="background-color: #FFA;">

Vue Material Onboarding Component

I'm pretty new using Onboarding component from Vue Material. I'm looking to use it as a carrousel for photos. I'm trying to implemented on my project but looks a bit messy. Anyone know some documentation a part from the official website?

Looks good (but one sytax error - missing : character before 'md-swipe-distance="50"'.
I think it should work if you:
a.) include all required dependencies (CSS, JS)
b.) initialize Vue with material
Code:

Floating spans in Bootstrap 3.0

I've used the previous version of Bootstrap and had no problem with this, but I'm trying with 3.0 and my classes just lie on top of each other rather than floating from keft to right, what am I doing wrong?
I followed this tutorial http://www.w3resource.com/twitter-bootstrap/grid-system-tutorial.php and even copied it across as it was driving me insane, but it didn't even work.
This is my current HTML
