When i run pub and sub from diffrent machines, the messages from publisher don't reach subscriber. If I run them on the same machine they work fine.
=> the publisher is running on this machine and publisher queue is created locally.
is same as
=> the machine on which subscriber is running.
The profile is production and there is no exception in the log file.
Any clues why messages are getting dropped.
Thsnks for the help...
Check the internal outbound queue on the Publisher. If you see messages there this means it can't communicate with the Subscriber. This usually means that you may not have MSDTC running or the security for MSDTC is not correctly configured. Make sure you have "Allow Inbound" and "Allow Outbound" set in the MSDTC security settings.
I wanted to chuck my mouse at someone when I got mine working.
For me, the problem was that I was trying to send a plain poco class as my message.
app.config
<UnicastBusConfig ForwardReceivedMessagesTo="audit">
<MessageEndpointMappings>
<add Assembly="Messages" Endpoint="pub" />
</MessageEndpointMappings>
</UnicastBusConfig>
Then I thought maybe I need to tell what the object is supposed to be, so I configured the message as a message
Configure.With()
.DefiningMessagesAs(t => t.Namespace != null && t.Namespace.Contains("Messages"));
Still didn't work, so then for grins i changed it to this
Configure.With()
.DefiningEventsAs(t => t.Namespace != null && t.Namespace.Contains("Messages"));
Now it works fine

I recently rewrote a large program that my company uses to conduct business. I changed to Entity Framework early on. For the most part it has been working quite well.
One issue that has annoyed me for quite some time and now I have time to look into is, a custom control that pulls a question from the database causes a strange error.
When the custom control used SQL it would actually show the question on form display in the designer. At first this was pretty cool and I liked it. After switching it to use Entity Framework 6, when I load the form in the designer I get the error
No connection string named 'wotcDB' could be found in the application
config file.
It's totally in the app.config file. In fact the program has no problem compiling and running without issue. For the longest time I would just push Ignore and go to work on the form. The question of course no longer shows up in the designer.
The User Control is part of the application. The app.config file is there, and the program both runs and deploys fine. What's causing this?
Here is my app.config, ####### is sensitive data.

Rather than deal with the issue, since only I see it. I've found an answer at
This Stack Article
I put
If (System.ComponentModel.LicenseManager.UsageMode = System.ComponentModel.LicenseUsageMode.Designtime) Then
Load_Question()
End If
in the custom control load. I don't see the question during design time, which is fine for me. My other option was to put the connection string into the EF class, which is difficult to keep up since I'm using EF-Design and not code first.
I've search many sites and tried several different opinions. But I still could not solve it. Here are the things I did right now:
In Global.asax at Application_Startup I give the file path and startup the Log4Net.
Right after I start log4net, I write a log that says "Application has
stared'"
Currently, there is only 1 worker in IIS for the WCF application The
IIS user has access to WRITE, MODIFY and READ privileges
The problem:
When I invoke a method of service directly (without doing the 2.
step below), No Logs is written
On a browser, I write te WCF url and hit ENTER, Log4Net creates the
folder and the files (files are EMPTY at this point).
If I make requests and invoke the methods (doing the 1st step), now
Log4Net writes the logs.
The actual problem:
After the 3rd step, (lets say we waited without any invokes of the
WCF methods around 10 minutes or more), the invoking DOES NOT CREATE
Log4Net Text logs ANYMORE.
Sometimes, if I repeat the 2nd step, it begins writing the logs
again. But there is no coherent results.
Here is the Config.xml:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<log4net>
<appender name="ProcessInfo_FileAppender" type="log4net.Appender.RollingFileAppender">
<file type="log4net.Util.PatternString" value="L:\LOGs\ProcessInfo\ProcessInfo_[%processid].txt" />
<lockingModel type="log4net.Appender.FileAppender+MinimalLock" />
<appendToFile value="true" />
<rollingStyle value="Composite" />
<maxSizeRollBackups value="200" />
<maximumFileSize value="30MB" />
<layout type="log4net.Layout.PatternLayout">
<conversionPattern value="%date [%thread] - %message%newline" />
</layout>
</appender>
<logger name="ProcessInfo">
<levelMin value="ERROR" />
<levelMax value="INFO" />
<appender-ref ref="ProcessInfo_FileAppender" />
</logger>
<root></root>
</log4net>
I have other WCF projects which have no problem even with multiple Workers. (I used the exact same IIS and Log4Net xml configuration with them). Also, as I mentioned on the title, I have a WebSite who has exact same logging codes (they both using a common 3rd party dll which I wrote) and has NO PROBLEM of writing Log4Net text logging at all.
Please help.
Thanks.
The problem is not in your logging configuration, you should try to enable log4net internal debugging. This will tell you why the logging stops. I guess there is some code that reconfigures your logging to load configuration from your web.config which is not there.

Log4net FAQ
I'm new to NServiceBus and I'm trying to use it with IIS and SignalR. I have a working scenario but I'm curious how the client chooses which queues to publish to. I've noticed (by stopping IIS and running the publisher) that the message gets published to a system.web queue. I assume this is because my endpoint is being started by ASP.Net or something similar. However, this seems like a really generic queue to use and I would like to use application specific queue names. How do I specify which queues the publisher uses? I've changed the endpoint on the SignalR application but it doesn't seem to make much of a difference.
Here is my client config:
[EndpointName("signalbus.web")]
public class EndpointConfig : IConfigureThisEndpoint, AsA_Server
{
}
Here is my app.config from the publisher:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<configuration>
<configSections>
<section name="MessageForwardingInCaseOfFaultConfig" type="NServiceBus.Config.MessageForwardingInCaseOfFaultConfig, NServiceBus.Core" />
<section name="TransportConfig" type="NServiceBus.Config.TransportConfig, NServiceBus.Core"/>
<section name="UnicastBusConfig" type="NServiceBus.Config.UnicastBusConfig, NServiceBus.Core" />
</configSections>
<connectionStrings>
<add name="NServiceBus/Persistence" connectionString="Url = http://localhost:9090" />
</connectionStrings>
<MessageForwardingInCaseOfFaultConfig ErrorQueue="error" />
<TransportConfig MaximumConcurrencyLevel="5" MaxRetries="2" MaximumMessageThroughputPerSecond="0"/>
<UnicastBusConfig>
<MessageEndpointMappings>
<add Messages="SignalBus.Messages" Endpoint="signalbus.web" />
</MessageEndpointMappings>
</UnicastBusConfig>
</configuration>
When you configure the bus:
Configure.With().DefineEndpointName("MyAppName")
Edit
I'm a little confused based on your posted code and your comments. Are you hosting the subscriber in IIS/ASP.Net? If so, I think EndpointConfig will get ignored, as (AFAIK) it is only used via the NSB Host.
See this link for configuring the Bus in your own process (or ASP.Net):
http://docs.particular.net/nservicebus/hosting-nservicebus-in-your-own-process-v4.x
Also, you shouldn't need to reference the subscriber endpoint in your publisher's config--it needs no knowledge of its subscribers. It gets that via RavenDB or whatever subscription storage you are using.
I'm trying to cluster a pair of servers with a shared Infinispan cache (Replicated Asynchronously). One always starts successfully, and registers itself properly with the JDBC database. When the other starts, it registers properly with the database, and I see a bunch of chatter between them, then, while waiting on a response from the second server, I get
`org.infinispan.commons.CacheException: Initial statue transfer timed out`
I think it's just an issue of configuration, but I'm not sure how to debug my configuration issues. I've spent several days configuring and re-configuring my Infinispan XML, and my JGroups.xml:

I've tried, frankly, every configuration option I can think of, and I'm not sure why the replication keeps timing out. All communication between these servers is wide open. Sorry to just dump so much XML, but I'm not even sure how to collect more information.
Continued exploration indicated that Infinispan was pushing logs to the server.log, but - due to my configuration, this was not duplicated on the console. Further inspection revealed that I left a single element in my cache objects unserializable - making it impossible for it to be written to the wire and transferred. The logs are very specific, making this actually a very easy problem to track down once I realized where the logs were being written.
If you come here from the future, my advice is to just tail every single log you can on the working server, and see what comes up.
I am launching my first website. I have published it and I am getting this error.

are there any other web.config settings I must be aware of now I am putting the site online? Like changing the connectionstring?
Fixed it by using

Depending on your host provider, you may need to take out the compilers as well.
In my experience with GoDaddy I had to comment out my compilers and put trust level="Full".
Set your custom errors to On or RemoteOnly so end users do not see any error messages a.k.a "the yellow screen of death".
