How can we take data from sql with a sql request like "SELECT * FROM ..." to an arraylist (more precise in a listview or a autocompletetext or a spinner).
i suggest you take a look at the NotepadDemo here
there they use a SimpleCursorAdapter to build a ListView

I have a table in a database that contains all kind of attachments, images, pdf, excel, and other formats. creating an application is not an option, so I googled other options and I found this related question that mentioned LINQPad I downloaded it but I still do not know how exactly it works. Anyone please explain that to me? I can query the attachments using sql query but not sure how to dump them and preview them via the mentioned tools.
Following on from Dan's answer, once you have the data context set up you can dump the images from the database. I use this snippet for checking an image I've written to the database, you should be able to edit as required to match your scenario:-
var ii = ItemImages.Where (v => v.Id == 10).FirstOrDefault();
using (var ms = new MemoryStream(ii.Image.ToArray()))
{
System.Drawing.Image.FromStream(ms).Dump();
}
Use the Util.Image built in utility for images.
Ex:
var personPictures = PictureTable.Take(1);
Util.Image(personPictures.First().Picture).Dump();
Util.Image takes a byte array.
Depending on your database of your choice, most likely you'll need a data context driver
http://www.linqpad.net/richclient/datacontextdrivers.aspx
Once you establish a connection you can start writing queries against the data
I want to parse a simple query using lucene (3.0.3):
title:(+return +"pink panther")
Just like in the documentation example.
The expected result is:
+title:return +title:"pink panther"
But instead i get:
+title:return +title:"itle return pink panther"
The code is very simple (c#):
Query query =
new QueryParser(
Lucene.Net.Util.Version.LUCENE_30,
"content",
new Lucene.Net.Analysis.Standard.StandardAnalyzer(Lucene.Net.Util.Version.LUCENE_30))
.Parse("title:(+return +\"pink panther\")");
I'm unable to reproduce this. Does this still occur for you?
I'm thinking that it may be some display artifacts from the output window. Is this from the Immediate Window, the Watch Window or a call to Console.WriteLine?
Sorry for the trouble, the issue was a custom-modified Lucene.Net assembly...
Could some indicate a working example or a snippet of code for JasperReports regarding ArrayList as a Field in a javabean datasource.
I have a List of Employees. Each Employee has a name field, and an array of Phone with type and number as its fields.
Do i use a subreport for Phones I have not found a working example? Cant seem to compile subreport_jasper file?
Do i use a list component instead...
<c:list ...>
<datasetRun subDataset="Addresses">
<datasetParameter name="Phone">
<datasetParameterExpression><![CDATA[$F{Phone}]]></datasetParameterExpression>
</datasetParameter>
</datasetRun>
This does seems to work either?
Thank in advance
I wrote this article while working with MongoDB. It deals with handling fields that are collections. It should be exactly what you need. (You can just ignore the MongoDB part.)
The key idea is that you use this to pass data to a List or Table or Subreport:
new net.sf.jasperreports.engine.data.JRMapCollectionDataSource($F{PhoneArray})
I am having an issue with the "Profile Checkboxes" module which stores custom profile fields comma separated.
The issue is if I create a view to filter by a value. The SQL result ends up being something like this:
...AND (profile_values_profile_interests.value in ('Business and Investment'))...
Which will not return any data since the value is stored like this:
"Business and Investment, Case Law, Labor Law, Tax Law"
I just need to adjust the SQL so that it is making sure the field contains the selected value
Is there anything I can do to adjust this?
For a 'quick hack' solution, you could try implementing hook_views_query_alter(&$view, &$query) in a custom module, check $view->name (and eventually also $view->current_display) to ensure you are dealing with the right view/display, and then manipulate $query as needed.
EDIT: Looks like the underlying problem has been addressed by the module maintainer in the meantime - see John's answer ...
I'm the creator and maintainer of Profile Checkboxes and thought you might be interested to know that the new version of the module now stores the values as serialized and includes Views support. The feature is available in the current release version.
Check out the Views modify query module.
How do you programmatically add an SSIS ForEachLoop?
We are limited to SQL Server 2005.
I'm having trouble adding the following properties:
ForEachEnumerator
CollectionEnumerator
Directory
FileNameRetrieval
FileSpec
Recurse
My code format looks like this:
Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.Executable executable = aSequence[0].Executables.Add("STOCK:ForEachLoop");
((Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.ForEachLoop) executable).Name = "a for each loop";
Thanks for any help in advance.
Please take a look at this MSDN sample
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.sqlserver.dts.runtime.foreachloop.foreachenumerator.aspx
It configures For Each Item enumerator, but can be easily adoped for others
