I would really appreciate it if someone would help me out with this issue.
I'm using SharePoint 2010. I created a Wiki Page Library without changing any of the library settings, and created a new Wiki page, all that went fine but once I started adding text and then tried to save the changes on the page, this message appears:
"You must specify a value for this required field"
I don't know what to do, there is no required field and I can't really fix that... so please help me with that message!!
Fatima, I don't know if you ever got your question answered, but this is a known issue with Publishing features. There is a field that is marked as required, but is not displayed on the page. I beleive it's the column/field called "Name". If you look through the Site Content Types and find "wiki page", you'll see that status is marked as "Required". Changing that should fix the issue for you.
This was caused by a Place holder missing from the Main area of your master page.
Even if you’ve moved it to a asp:Panel and declared it as false at the bottom of your master page you’ll still get the error.
All you need is to move content place holder
<asp:ContentPlaceHolder id=“PlaceHolderPageTitleInTitleArea” runat=”server”></asp:ContentPlaceHolder>
within the s4-bodyContainer div , within the s4-ca div seems to work best. Save the master page and that’s it. that no more irritating message.

I'm an experienced WPF developer, but new to web development.
I'm stuck at point where you replace the Contact List Placeholder
with the contact-list custom element.
When I run it the web page still shows the placeholder text instead of the contact list. I assumed this was a cache issue, but I've tried everything I can think of to clear the cache. I have also tried deleting the app.html and running the site to see what kind of error I'd get, but still I get the template with Contact List Placeholder. I've tried reverting to the original tag and changing the inner text, and I still get "Contact List Placeholder".
I have managed to create a HIT with an external question that calls an html file hosted in an S3 server. I have worked in the sandbox environment. When I create the hit, I get the following error when I try to submit the hit as a worker:
There was a problem submitting your results for this HIT.
This HIT is still assigned to you. To try this HIT again, click "HITs Assigned To You" in the navigation bar, then click "Continue work on this HIT" for the HIT. If this problem persists, you can contact the Requester for this HIT using the "Contact" link above.
To return this HIT and continue working on other HITs, click the "Return HIT" button.
I have already read multiple forums trying to figure out the problem. When I check out the source in the developer tools, it seems to have all the necessary parameters set:
</style><iframe height="400" scrolling="auto" frameborder="0" align="center" src="https://BUCKET.s3.amazonaws.com/index.html?assignmentId=34J10VATJGBKANG4MDCHRA6ME53QIH&hitId=3N2YPY1GI6BYD6C5MRBYOYBJJSEEVE&workerId=A1YJU5SNGQQP00&turkSubmitTo=https%3A%2F%2Fworkersandbox.mturk.com" name="ExternalQuestionIFrame"></iframe>
Also, I made sure I don't have any button named 'submit'. Any ideas of how I could debug this thing?
The issue here is usually that you're not submitting the appropriate information back to MTurk. You need to send the assignmentId parameter in addition to at least one other named field. I often just add a &foo=bar (or similar) to the end of the submit URL. So you should be submitting to something like:
https://workersandbox.mturk.com/mturk/externalSubmit?assignmentId=34J10VATJGBKANG4MDCHRA6ME53QIH&foo=bar
That's for the sandbox. For the live server, switch the base URL to https://www.mturk.com.
Amazon MT HITs seems to be printing a generic error message for a wide range of issues. This causes the problem to be particularity hard to debug.
For me, the error occurred since I was not assigning "name" attribute to my input elements in the form.
You must include the HTML name attribute in the input field definition. Make your name attributes descriptive because they are used as the column headings in the Results table.
If you are using the GUI to build and deploy your tasks, I recommend giving this document a good read and see if you have missed something.

Hope this helps.
If anyone can help me that would be great. I'm trying to submit any changes without getting the...
"A potentially dangerous Request.Form value was detected from the client.
I'm using tinyMCE with my project and if I enter any content that has any HTML characters I get the above message
I have tried various solutions here on Stackoverflow and elsewhere but they didn't work for me. The last solution I tried was here
Another site that looked promosing but without luck...
I haven't done any development for a while so I'm a tad rusty and not sure what you'll need until you ask.
Thank you
Use Request.Unvalidated to reference your textarea in your code block:
var html = Request.Unvalidated("myTextArea");
If you want to output whatever the user submitted, and you wanted the browser to respect the HTML markup that is included, you need to use Html.Raw:
You entered: #Html.Raw(html)
I was wondering whether exists any dashlet which allows you to explore a site's document library. As far as I know doesn't exist such dashlet out of the box, there only exists the "Site Content" dashlet but it is slightly limited.
I have been searching around and "googling" and I found these useful resources that could be useful as a starting point if I had to create my own:
http://ecmarchitect.com/archives/2012/05/08/1592
http://code.google.com/p/fme-alfresco-extensions/wiki/GalleryPlusDashlet2
Do somebody know more dashlets/resources targeting this issue? Any suggestion?
As a temporary solution, I'm also thinking in the possibility of taking advantage of the "Web View" dashlet, by configuring in it such URL that retrieves the documentlist region/component in the documentlibrary page. For example:, share/page/components/documentlibrary/documentlist or share/page/site/{site}/documentlibrary?region=documentlist. Maybe it is crazy or what I'm saying doesn't make any sense, but it is just an idea.
Another idea that have just came to my mind is the option of creating a custom Surf/Share page which includes the component/webscript that implements the explorer of the document library, specifically the documentlist component. Then configure the "Web View" dashlet giving the URL that points to the custom page created. Would it make sense?
Thanks in advance.
You are going to see a couple of site visualization and navigation dashlets on Alfresco Visualization Tools available on https://github.com/bhagyas/alfresco-visualization-tools. The project is still at it's initial phase, but you will find interesting snippets of code used to retrieve the document library content trees within the dashlets.
The project was presented by me at Alfresco DevCon in Berlin just a week ago to bring interactive navigation and content analytics. If interested, you can find the slides at the lightening talk slides in the DevCon 2012 site at Alfresco.
Cheers! =)
Hi I've done exactly the same, it was not really needed for a Dashlet but for to embed the documentlibrary of a site in an iframe for another site.
So what I did was indeed create a new page template embedded-documentlibrary.
I've copied first the following files and renamed them:
site-data/pages/documentlibrary.xml
site-data/template-instances/documentlibrary.xml
site-webscripts/org/alfresco/documentlibrary.ftl
If you rename file 3 or put it in another folder, you need to check the paths in file 1 & 2.
So to make only the documentlibrary appear instead of everyting I just removed everything in file 3 within the <div id="alf-hd"> tag.
If you remove the tag, the document-tree will also be removed and it gave some javascript errors. This should be fixed in the latest version, but haven't tied that.
So it's extremely easy to create your own page and instead of navigating to site/documentlibrary you just navigate to site/embedded-documentlibrary or your own name you've chosen.
And yes then you'll need to use the web-view Dashlet to show it.
The only thing you need to know is, that the links open within the iframe. So if you use the web-view Dashlet, you need to open the links in a new window.
For my situation I needed an iframe, in your case you could also just let the freemarker from your Dashlet render the components needed.
There is a document-liberary-display dashlet available in the alfresco add-on list which can be used to show all the documents from document-library on site-dashlet.

Here is the brief detail of issue.
I have Page1 where I have put LinkButton. The LinkButton Has property PostBackUrl pointing to Page2.
When user is redirected to page2, I am using Page Load method to access controls from previous page & get the needed value. To make clear, I am using this approach becuase I cant use querystring.
Page 2 has 2 web parts on it. The web parts use data received in Page Load event from page1 and renders data.
This works perfect on first page load. When user clicks on a URL in page which posts back, the web parts gets lost.
Note that if I come directly to page2 without going at page1, then web parts are retained in the page and they are not lost.
Can anyone give me the clue of issue cause?
Thanks in advance.
Do you have any debugging enabled? you are most likely looking for values on page load that don't exist and might be getting exceptions that aren't handled properly.
I am not sure why but somehow code was throwing an exception when I tried to access the property Page.PreviousPage. Though I had made sure to check null on each step. Even code was never get hit when web part was lost. So it is still a mystery for me.
Just in case someone comes across this issue my workaround may help. I used Post back to page2 using post method. I accessed the variables using Page.Form[] variables. This way my issue of getting web parts lost got resolved.
