Is there a program for windows where I can increase the size of a window (not a browser) to a resolution beyond the limits of my screen (say 50,000 x 500) and then take a screenshot?
HI,

I hope You are using Windows and not an Unix-like system.

enter image description hereenter image description hereI have windows 10 running on VMWare Fusion on my MacBook pro. I've used it without problem for the past year then today in my class the screen just went black. I cant even see the mouse I scrolled my mouse to the top and was able to get the mac top task bar and was able to close out of the VM and it was suspended but it wont let me shut it down. Anyone know the process I need to take to do this? I know I could always shut the mac down and entirely and restart but don't want to risk damaging the windows image. any help would be appreciated.
Maybe this could work, I used it a few times as well.
Not too long ago, I posted this issue to the Cmder GitHub page. After two weeks, it has still gone unanswered, so I was hoping to try my luck here.
Basically, I am seeing odd behavior when resizing a window in Cmder, while running bash.
Here is the issue I posted:
To reproduce, open Cmder, and maximize the window:
While emulating a bash console (Bash on Ubuntu on Windows), shrink window size so that the command line (i.e. PS1 environment
variable), wraps to the next line.
Run the command (can be a simple Enter keystroke, as long as 1. is respected).
Maximize window size, and type a command which is longer than the previous shrunken window. Line should wrap over itself.
Can anyone reproduce this behavior? (Running Microsoft Windows
[Version 10.0.15063])
I did not observe the same behavior while emulating cmd.exe.
What's more is that I don't observe this behavior while running the application "Bash on Ubuntu on Windows".
I also tried to see if the same behavior is observed on ConEmu. When I resize the screen, I get the message: "Maximum console size ... was reached Decrease font size in the real console properties", and I'm guessing this might have to do with my high DPI screen. On top of that, I get the same behavior as in Cmder.
Any help on this is greatly appreciated :D
I cannot find how to change behavior debugger window of IntellJ IDEA 2017.1.2 on Windows 10. I like to use it in unpinned mode, meaning it comes up when build happens (I execute it manually) and when I click on the edited file it goes down. But It does not take full width. It does not go over Project window as you can see in the picture below.
It works by default as I described on Windows 7. I mean it takes full width. Unfortunately, I cannot provide a screenshot about it. That machine is my workstation.
I cannot find in the documentation how to setup this. I assume it is due to Windows 10.
It's controlled by the Widescreen tool window layout option, disable it:
How to make tool windows remember their monitor and position in IntelliJ Idea 13?
Is there a way to do that?
I have 2 monitors with different resolutions.
I like to keep the main window of the IDE (and the code editor) on my laptop monitor and have the tool windows (Debug, Changes, Run, Terminal, Maven) on the second one at max width and height.
So What I do is to float them, max them on the second monitor and pin them there.
it works but every time I close the IDE, or sometimes during my day they get back to the main monitor again.
They kind of maintain their height and width (a few pixels less I think) but they appear huge in the middle of my smaller monitor.
This is the only draw back I have to say agains the IDE, and in Eclipse this kind of thing works as a charm.
Is there a way to solve it? Or a plugin?
Cheers
I had the same problem with Find window. Solution was to close IDEA (13.1.5) with all windows positioned as I like. It seems IDEA memorizes window positions only on termination.
I had the same problem, and today I found this in jetbrains help website:
Save the arrangement of tool windows:
From the main menu, select Window | Store Current Layout as Default.
the url is: Arrange tool windows
i'm working on a Windows 8 Store App and i am trying to use different icon resolutions for different screen sizes.
But somehow
ResolutionScale resolutionScale = Windows.Graphics.Display.DisplayProperties.ResolutionScale;
always returns Scale100Percent. I tried it on my Desktop PC, which runs at 1080p and i also tried it with the simulator in all different resolutions it offers but the ResolutionScale Property stays 100%.
Using DisplayInformation instead of DisplayProperties is not an option because i still want to support Windows 8.0.
Does anyone know if there is another way to get the current resolution scale in Windows 8.0 or if i am doing something wrong?
Thanks in advance
Khrimm
Edit: Using the actual screen resolution to determine the scale factor seems to be another possibility.
