I want to convert my PDF files into HTML(not looking for any software though). I dont have any idea. How to read the PDF then taking care of font size, styling, line spacing, character spacing, How to generate HTML?
and then How I can take care of images also ?
I wrote an article on this issue at (http://www.jpedal.org/PDFblog/2010/09/why-pdf-to-html-conversion-does-not-work-very-well/) and the blog also contains lots of general articles on PDF.

I want to make a Mac app to view and edit several GB sized binary files.
How do I start off? :-(
I thought I should begin with a simple scrolling hex viewer, but stuck already.
I think NSTextView is not the way to go. Because I only need to draw 255 kind of two character pair over and over. Also need to manage huge text data.
1) can I use NSLayoutManager drawGlyphsForGlyphRange method?
2) is it possible with NSTextView and clever text management?
3) or something else?
It will be greatly helpful if I could consult samples or demos.

Hex Fiend is an open source hex editor that can edit huge files (the website says it has been tested on a 118GB file).

Is it possible to read a text on an image?
Why yes and why not?
My client wants me to make this but I think it's impossible, if not impossible then it'll be very hard to make.. I was trying to explain it to him but it seems like he really wants to push it.
:/
EDIT: I don't understand why you downvoted this I was just asking a yes or no question here. :)) but well it's ok I want to hear what do you guys think if this is possible in vb.net
Use something like PDFSharp to get the images, then perform OCR on them with for ex. Tersseract.
Problem is where should that text be used? In the PDF? If yes it might be possible to include a textfield above the image with the text in the PDF, using PDFSharp too.

please how can i plot the Rosenbrock function to get the image above :here
To get the 3d plot at the top, click on the image in the WP article to get the image page. Check the bottom, the person who created the image was good enough to include the python script that created it in the comment section. It requires matplotlib (of course). As for the other images, it's hard to tell what's going on mathematically and there's no source given so I doubt anyone but the people who created them could reproduce them accurately.

I am trying to use Lucene to index a collection of Arabic files. I can do this for English files with StandardAnalyzer, however for Arabic files I don't know how to use ArabicAnalyzer. Can some one help with some example or piece of code?
You have to check the contrib analyzers libraries: Arabic Analyzer.

How does the GZip file compression algorithm work? If anyone has any documentation on this, I'd like to read it.
If you're still looking for a more detailed overview, I've written up a description of the gzip deflate process, along with source code, at: http://www.infinitepartitions.com/art001.html
