Creating a Logon Screen - silverlight-4.0

What is the best way to make password/logon screen? Iread somewhere that it is better to use a popup control. If so where exactly do I need to create it, in App.xaml?

There are number of things you need to consider while implementing a login screen for your Windows Phone 7 application. Here is a sample that can give you an idea of how to get started, if you haven't. One of the important aspects of a login screen is its appearance on the "back stack" - the list that grows while you are within your application, each item in this list is accessible through the "back" button. Ideally, you wouldn't want the user to press the back button and view the login screen. In other words, the login screen should never be in the "back stack". Therefore, it is probably best to implement the login screen as popup, see Peter Torr's post discussing this.
Peter Torr published an article on "Places" which could help you design your application with the login screen.

Regarding implementation of a popup, I posted a simple example in the Answer linked below which you can check out. In this case it implements a context menu.. you can populate the popup with whichever contents make sense for your login screen.

I recommend reading the two links Indyfromoz has hooked you up with for how to handle a login screen wrt the navigation service. This are the most relevant and the current posts on the topic of handling login screens and the like wrt the navigation service.

Make The Different Register Page Url Stable and Get Rid of Double Click Logout On Woocommerce

I am using one of the woodmart built-in themes and have 2 issues (I think they are so easy to do but couldn’t find any solution on internet which works well) one is about register page link on the sidebar login are and the logout confirmation.
When you go to our website which is http://www.fitovision.com and click on Login/Register button on the right top of the page a sidebar widget comes out. I have changed the Create An Account link to my custom page but because I did this on the integration page of woocommerce to the theme, when I get any update it goes back. So looking for a hook or function codes to add to the child theme functions page to keep it there forever even if I get any update. Could you please tell me how to do that? I have asked this to the theme editors support page but they said it belongs to woocommerce so asked me to open a ticket here.
Second one is when you login to the page we have an dropdown menu on the top on the place of Login/Register link. And there is Log Out link on the at dropdown menu. When I click it it goes to My Account page and when I click there again it logs out. I have read and applied too many ways to bypass the logout confirmation on first click but none of them worked as I realised that they were all old dated posts. So I thought after some time and your updates it should be forced by the wocoommerce to do it. But my clients definitely do not want it. Is there again anything else I can do for that to log out on the first click? And keep it there with adding to the child theme functions page?
Thank you for replies instead.

What is a good solution for notification Tab in a mobile app

I am working on a mobile app, And i am wondering whats the best solution design for notifications tab - if we click on the notification tab, it shows all the recent notifications.
Any thoughts, how its stored in the backend and DB design, any best practices etc?
Thanks in advance
I've made both the backend and respective mobile app part . For front end part its easy, you can either implemnt in a bottomTabNavigator where on click of that tab , it opens up a page and it calls the API to fetch all the notifications. And on PullToRefresh in the FlatList you can refresh the list of notitfications.
For backend there are 2 ways, either you store in a separate table/docuemnt for notifications and link with the users table. or store in the same collection of users.
Hope it helps. Feel free for doubts

Login screen for a Ext JS 4.0.7 application

I've developed an Ext JS 4.0.7 app for my company. It has various modules for different team's needs. Now, the company want to make sure only relevant people have access to relevant modules in an app. It's an ERP application which has CRM, MRP, Engineering, HR and Finance modules. Now, respective team members should have access to respective menus and pages and super admin will have access to everything.
I know how to control the menus based on user login. But not sure how to integrate user login screen into my app. I know basics of Ext JS and able to design a Login screen using form panel ...... but not sure how to make it as my app's first screen and upon successful login, let the user in and able to logout from there.
If anyone already developed such functionality, i request to share the solution here. Any pointers or code snippets will be a great help.
Thanks very much in advance.
My application has a header (company logo and app title - horizontal on north) and left menu and content panel.
So, here is how login/logout screen implemented.
When app is loaded, when viewport is loaded, on render, I load menu store and load 'Login' and 'Change Password' menu items in them.
When user enters login/pwd, via ajax call , will call servlet and process login data. Upon login successful, based on user role, respective menu json built in server side and menu store is loaded with this json. This json has 'Logout' menu by default. So, when user logs out, will load Login screen in content panel.
Not sure whether any other best ways to implement the same. But this is working well.

For Page Object Pattern, when designing the page objects in Selenium, how do you handle multiple modals correctly?

Let me further explain.
You have a page where an application lives. However, upon first login, the user is prompted with a welcome screen that loads in the center of the browser. Like a pop-up from the application. This welcome screen is to help the user get familiar with the app. You can move on through the screens by reading the information and clicking the Continue button. After several of these pop-ups, the application will now be available for testing.
So how would I handle this in the Page Object Pattern using Selenium. Should I have a main page that just has functionality to navigate through these modals? Or should the main page return objects that represent each of the individual modals? Or should each modal be a separate page that I interact with?
Basically, I can think of several options:
ApplicationPage.Modal1.Continue();
or
Modal1.Continue();
Modal2.Continue();
or
ApplicationPage.ContinueThroughModal1();
or
ModalPage.Continue1();
ModalPage.Continue2();
I prefer to look at pages as collection of services. So
should the main page return objects that represent each of the individual modals?
PageObject helps you to improve the maintenance and reduces code duplication. So you can use it as an interface to a page of your AUT.
should each modal be a separate page that I interact with?
I would say - yes. If some future change occurs (in any modal), your PageObj will handle it without changing the test itself. Why not introduce a IModalPopup with Continue() method which will handle the skipping that your tests need. Further more in your MainPage class you can keep a ICollection<IModalPopup> welcomeScreens and iterate those.
Aiming at a full answer here - there is no need to actually go through this
welcome screen that loads in the center of the browser.
Once is enough. Every other test can utilize URL navigation over crawling each middle page. Single test that covers your end-user journey (by clicking required buttons/links) should be sufficient.

Link to page when logging in to Facebook in xcode

So I've got my iPhone app running and what I want to achieve is when you navigate to a certain page, there is a button which, when clicked, will direct you to a certain page on Facebook. I have looked at the Facebook development pages (http://developers.facebook.com/docs/guides/mobile/) for adding Facebook and it is currently opening up Facebook when clicked and logs in successfully, although not straight away like it should.
So my problems are as follows:
1) When the button is pressed, it should bring up a page asking for permission for my application to automatically log in but it doesn't,
2) When logged in, I want the app to take the user straight to a specific page on Facebook so they can look at it and like it but i have no idea how to do this,
3) I would also need a way of exiting the Facebook view, back to the previous view the user was on inside my application.
Thanks,
Matthew
