Does anyone know how to do that? My skills in using VBA aren't very good and I also googled for it, but I do not even know how to open one of those files by using VBA.
Maybe someone of you did already do something like this before?

EDIT
The following steps have to be done do convert the files:
Open the STEP file -> File -> Open
Clicking on "Application" in the menu bar -> then "AEC-Exchange"
Now there appears a dialog on the left called "AEC-Exchange" including the item: "Save as DWG". By clicking on it the file can be saved as an AutoCAD 2007 dwg file.

Open the .stp and save as .dwg? Also, it appears that this is the application that everyone references as being able to do it (At least going from .dwg to .stp). However, it also appears that .stp is a 3D file type while .dwg is a 2d file type. To me, it would seem that the .stp file type would contain data that the .dwg file couldn't handle since 3d is inherently more complex than 2d (unless these .stp files contain only 2d images?). This could explain why there aren't many articles on converting .stp to .dwg.

Alternatively, if your only goal is to simply convert a .stp/.step file to .dwg. You may be better off finding some free converter over interfacing with Autodesk.

I began writing a docx document to do a project of mine.
Recently, I realized that it would be easier to manage that data if it was in a database.
So, I wanted to import that data into MS Access automatically, to avoid copying and pasting the data manually.
Is there anyway to do it? I have only encontered ways of opening Word application via Access. I also know that docx has a XML structure, so I imagine if I can open that structure, it would be easy to do a parser in VBA
There are two basic ways information can be taken out of a Word document and put into an Access database: automating the Word object model using VBA code running in either Word or Access OR extracting the WordOpenXML that makes up the Word document. You indicate you lean towards the second option.
Here, again, there are a number of approaches available:
Use VBA in Word or Access to extract the WordOpenXML of the document open in the Word application user interface.
Use VBA in Access together with non-VBA tools to "crack open" the Zip file and extract the XML.
Use the tools available in the .NET Framework to extract the content of the ZIP file and write it to Access using an OLE DB connection.
I understand your goal is to be able to recreate the document at a later point for printing, so you want to preserve all the formatting. In addition, you want to be able to read the content from within Access.
I believe this will require a minimum of four fields in the Access table:
ID
Title
Text of song
The complete WordOpenXML for re-creating the document
You don't mention (4) in the discussion and problem description, but if you want to store the formatting AND you want to be able to read the content I believe this is necessary. While WordOpenXML is "readable", there's a lot of mark-up in there which doesn't make reading comfortable.
All things being equal, I'd go for either VBA working on the open Word document or the .NET approach, using the Open XML SDK (free download .NET library you can reference in Visual Studio and distribute with solutions).
One important thing to keep in mind is storing the Word Open XML in the database. Unless something has changed in Access, you can't store the ZIP file - you need a "streamable" format. That would be the OOXML OPC flat-file format.
When you read the WordOpenXML from a document using VBA, that's what you get, which is why that would be an option for me. The Open XML SDK doesn't have that option, but there is code available from Eric White's blog for doing this.
When you later want to recreate and print the document it should be enough to stream the WordOpenXML to a file with the .xml extension. Or you could convert it back to a docx zip file (same blog).

I am looking to program a software that imports a list and links every word or sentence on that list to an audio file. I then want to export the whole thing: the list, the audio files AND how the relations between the words in order to use everything with a different app, programmed in a different programming (that is all yet to come. it will probably be in ruby)
Since I will probably not be able to open coredata files with ruby, which file format will be the best for me, so that I can use it in ruby etc.? or will I have to save all audio files individually, as audio files and have a separate txt file that links the words to the files? This sounds... wrong? :(

You can use json file to hold all your data. It is widely accepted as a data interchange format. But better not to embed audio files in another file. Instead you can save path to you audio file.
For my project, I need to generate CAD drawing (almost a blueprint of a tank) through my VB.NET application. The app takes in some user input & based on this, it generates the geometry of the tank.
I am using Microsoft Visual Studio Professional 2012 & coding in the VB.NET language.
I have browsed through a lot of AutoCAD documentation but could not find exactly how & where are the modules hidden, for me to add them into my code.
I stumbled accross one particular document
which is where I found how to add the relevant files as reference to my VB solution. However, after adding some particular files I could then do Imports AutoCAD, but all the docs show that I must use Autodesk.AutoCAD. On inspection of the available modules/methods of the Imports AutoCAD I can see that it isn't complete as needed for the application development.
Can somebody please guide me as to how could I find or go about adding correct reference files to my VS solution to get full functionality from the AutoCAD modules? Thanks!

Download the appropriate AutoCAD .NET API using the aforementioned link.
Put them in a location of your choosing.
general:
on the appropriate project in your visual studio's solution, right click -> Add Reference.
select Browse on left, click the browse button and go to the path where you saved the ObjectARX download.
Inprocess:
Navigate to the inc directory and
select the AcDbMgd.dll and AcMgd.dll then click add.
For these make sure to set the copy local property to false.
Interop:
Navigate to the appropriate directory: inc-win32 or inc-x64 depending on your processor.
select the Autodesk.AutoCAD.Interop.Common.dll and Autodesk.AutoCAD.Interop.dll then click add.
and unless you have an interest in the AutoCAD interface don't worry about the AcCui.dll

So, looking up more & more documentation led me to stumble across this
I found the dlls by simple file search for respective dlls metioned below in my local AutoCAD 2014 installation folder (C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2014)
As per the documentation, following dlls are important ones -
AcCui.dll
acdbmgd.dll
acmgd.dll
Autodesk.AutoCAD.Interop.dll
Autodesk.AutoCAD.Interop.Common.dll
The credit for the last 2 dlls goes to Trae Moore.

I want to read an existing PDF file, get not only the text, but also the format information like: Font (Bold, Italic...), and paragraphs... Is there an code library for doing this, is it open source or commercial?
I am on Windows and favor C# libraries, but C/C++ is also acceptable.

Its commercial, but it also has a lite version which you can use for free privately. It contains very muach functionality and is available for all plattforms.

The Pdfium.Net SDK also can help you. Via this API you can get access to a collection of text, images and other objects and ther properties.

I'm going to have to write a number of vba modules for a project I'm working on, and would prefer to use SciTe to the built in editer in Office.
SciTe allows you to redirect the effect of hitting F1 to a arbitary command with the selected text as an argument. Is there anyway of using this functionality to search the relevant .chm files?
I'm guessing not, given that the help for vba is spread across multiple files, but I'm hoping someone can prove me wrong...
I'm especially interested if anyone can suggest a way to find out which chm file a particular libraries help resides, just from the fully delimitered name of the function.
Another approach is to use the HTML Help command line program HH.EXE to either show specific pages, or to decompile a particular CHM into HTML files.
Go to the folder mentioned by Lunatik in a command window and enter this command:
hh -decompile html vbaac10.chm
^^
# ac is for Access; use xl for Excel, wd for Word, etc
This will create an "html" folder below it and fill it with most of the files that went into creating the CHM file. The resulting HTML files can be opened directly in your browser, although they won't find their related style sheets or scripts which are addressed by their locations in CHM files. The style sheets and scripts do get extracted though so you can work with them too.
Also take a look at the XML files in the 1033 folder like VB_ACTOC.XML - this is the Table of Contents for the Access VBA help. It contains topic nodes with labels and urls for each item in the help file:

The mk:etc... url can be put on the HH command line to open that topic in a regular HTML Help window. Also, it shows the source CHM filename, and the relative path of the file when decompiled.

Working from these files, you could put together a script to find/grep files by keyword and show them in a browser, or you could reengineer the files into some sort of database or other lookup capability to work with SciTe's command based help system.

The main files are held (for Office 2003 anyway) in Program Files\OFFICE11\1033, but accessing pages within them could be a bit tricky as Microsoft have gradually had to reign in the ability to delve into CHM files over the years due to security concerns.
This page (download) has some good info on what might still be possible as far as linking to specific pages inside a CHM
Having said that, I don't think this file is the default help shown to most users nowadays, but it's close enough, missing only the Office 2007 pimping most of the time. The online help seems to be set as default unless you specifically disable it during the Office install. The URLs are, I think, not very SEO friendly so couldn't be guessed. I suppose you could borrow a sneaky trick from scammers and craft URLs that point to the top link on Google, thusly: Range.
