I'm very new to Joomla. I have a question about components/modules.
I'm doing the development of a site for a firm and they provided me with custom news releases component that's supposed to show on the home page. From what I've seen, I can call modules to a page with "" based on their position.
Do I do the same sort of thing to get this component to display? Can anyone help me out please. Let me know if I'm not being clear.
EDIT: I figured out that I have to add this as a menu item, but this makes it into it's own page. I want this just as a module on the right of the home page. What do I need to do to achieve this?
Thank you
if this is a component than you won't be able to display it in a module position. You will have to write a new module to do that or use some modules which wrap around other types of content. See here, maybe this plugin will fit.
If this is a component you can also use the Component Loader extension to load the component output in a module position.

Goodmorning everyone. I'm going crazy behind a very simple new hook.
I just wanted to add the share buttons in the blog articles, I added the hook in theme.yml as shown in the image, I reset the theme and the module but nothing to do, I don't see the hook if I try to insert the module.
Moreover from this insertion onwards I am no longer able to reset or uninstall the module, it returns me the error you see in the image. What am I doing wrong?

Check if your hook exists in the ps_hooks tables if not add it there.
You need to register it in the ps_hooks database,maybe the ideal can be to create a module, and in the installation register the hook and assign a template that shows what you need in the hook.

Currently i am working in a project which is already developed in v-DataTable of vuejs which is all new to me. In this project, i need to call an event when the scrollbar reach its bottom.
Any API can also be used.
Please help me out.
If project is built with Vuetify (guessing because you've mentioned v-data-table) - take a look at https://vuetifyjs.com/en/directives/intersect/
Otherwise you can check out Interesection Observer API or third party libraries like Tornis
I am using the vue-masonry plugin which let me create a masonry grid easily.
I created a system of infinite loading where you scroll to the bottom of the page and it append new pictures to an array binded with the vue-masonry plugin.
The problem happen when I created a system of polling for the new pictures that were upoaded by other users. Those new pictures need to be at the top of the masonry grid.
The plugin use two Vue Directive masonry (parent) and masonryTile (element). masonryTile has a v-for which loop through the array binded with my Vue instance (which does all the heavy lifting, preloading, sanityzing, etc...).
Is there a way in the directives to know the differences between something being appended or prepended? And try to react differently (I know masonry has some append/prepend method) but in here and with this plugin, the items where already added (at the beginning so the prepend works with Vue) but there's no masonry interaction nor redraw (I tried to use the prototype to trigger the redraw this.$redrawVueMasonry();).
So I don't know what's next to do. Continue finding a way to differentiate a prepend from a append and trying to bind it to the respective masonry's methods ? Or another method that I didn't think of...
Thanks in advance for you help
Ps : I don't think my code is really relevant since It's more a way to optimize the plugin. If you want some specific part of my code anymay, tell me in the comment !
This probably comes a bit too late, this being a 10 month old question.
However vue-masonry is able to handle situations where items are spliced anywhere in the array. But to properly update the grid this.$redrawVueMasonry() should be called inside this.$nextTick() like this:
this.$nextTick(() => this.$redrawVueMasonry());
Hope this helps, if not the original poster, someone else.
I am working with angular 2 rc4 and we are using fuel-ui http://fuelinteractive.github.io/fuel-ui/#/ to load a modal.
What we are trying to achieve is the following:
we have a login component that we want to inject into the fuel-ui modal the problem is that the actual modal html code (actual DOM) is getting loaded after.
Fuel-ui gives a tag into which the html for the modal gets loaded into.
I have researched and tried DynamicComponentLoader although found out it is now deprecated.
What I need is to know what is the best way to inject my login component content
into the rendered DOM (tag with modal-body class from bootstrap html).
I have searched but perhaps someone had the same issue and stumbled upon a better link that explains how to do this.
Thank you, in advance, for your help.
Nancy
This seems very old now. But i think the latest in Angular helps you use content projection into a component.
You can add <ng-content></ng-content> as the body of your modal. In the parent component view add your custom component wrapped in the modal component. When modal shows up, you will have your component in it's content.
Also, Angular supports dynamic component creation.
Component templates are not always fixed. An application may need to
load new components at runtime.
You can look it up here for any help:

I have an Aurelia application in which I'm trying to build a CMS component. This component will load data from the server and this data mainly contains slug, title and content fields.
I also have several global components defined in my application, and I want to be able to use those components in the server so when I pull that data my CMS component is able to transform/compile those custom elements.
An example would be a tab component. I have the tab component with this structure defined:
<tab-panel>
<tab title="First"></tab>
<tab title="Second"></tab>
</tab-panel>
The CMS component will contain a content property which I use to pass a string like this: '<tab-panel><tab title="First"></tab><tab title="Second"></tab></tab-panel>'
The component needs to compile that string and render it in its view. I've checked the enhance API, but it doesn't worked, at least for me. Any other suggestion to dynamically compile/render custom elements??
Thanks a lot in advance.
I've found the solution. I've used a compose element and InlineViewStrategy and it worked well, the components are shows and binding works as expected.
If your custom elements are registered globally using globalResources you can actually using the TemplatingEngine to dynamically insert content into the DOM and then compile it after-the-fact. This blog post goes into detail in how you can do it.
However, I would use this as a last resort. As is mostly always the case, there are much better ways to do something in Aurelia. Using the <compose> element is a great way to dynamically render content in your Aurelia applications and should always be the first port of call.
