Mapping a derived class with additional collection property in nhibernate - nhibernate

I'm trying to use the table-per-subclass (which fluent-nhibernate automaps by default) with a class structure like the following:

Instead of adding a new table "IncludesXProduct" to represent the many-to-many mapping, it adds a property "ProductPackageId" to the Product table. Of course persisting to this schema doesn't work.
Have I missed something simple or is this type of thing not really supported by NHibernate?

It is possible to do this with NHibernate. Unfortunately my fluent syntax isn't very good, but it looks like FNH is somehow regarding the relationship as a many-to-one rather than a many-to-many.

Map two classes to the same table

There is a NODES table with dozen of 'small' columns and a LOB column in a legacy DB. A NodeEntity class is mapped to the NODES table.
For performance purposes I do not want to load LOB column every time I access the DB. I know two approaches to achieve this:
Lazy loaded properties
Separate entity class (the idea is taken from here)
Lazy loaded properties are good when you only loading data from DB. But if you have to save entities then there is a risk to lose your data if you forget to fetch lazy loaded properties beforehand.
So I chose the second approach.
I created separate small NodeEntityLite class with properties mapped to non-LOB columns of NODES table. I modified NodeEntity class so it inherits from NodeEntityLite class. I changed the mappings for my classes and used union-subclass for inheritance.

I expected that when I execute select n from NodeEntityLite n where n.Id = :p0 HQL then NHibernate generates SQL commands without NOTE column:

where nodeentity0_.ID=:p0;
But NHibernate generates absolutely different SQL command (NOTE column is not skipped as I expected):

nodeentity0_.clazz_ as clazz_
from ( select ID, CODE, NOTE, 1 as clazz_ from NODES ) nodeentity0_

I tried to change inheritance and to use other mappings but without success.
The question is: Can I map several classes to the same table in NHibernate to get access to different columns?
If yes, please give an example.
The solution (based on the suggestions from David Osborne and mxmissile) is not to use inheritance. I use common interface implementation instead of class inheritance. The working code is below:

Regardless of the inheritance, NH can map different types to the same table. I have done it, albeit without inheritance.
You should be able to remove this line from the NodeEntityLite override and achieve it:
mapping.UseUnionSubclassForInheritanceMapping();
If this proves unsuccessful, you might need to tune the automapping further. It's definitely possible though.

Fluent Nhibernate Cascade.None() results in HasOne foreign key relationship not being persisted

I'm having issues with Nhibernate persisting a HasOne Relationship for one of my entities with Cascade.None() in effect. My domain model involves 4 classes listed below.

So basically we have projects, which have a list of ProjectRoles available from the Team property. Each ProjectRole links a User to the specific Role they play on that project.
I'm trying to setup the following cascade relationships for these entities.
project.HasMany<ProjectRoles>(p=> p.Team).Cascade.All()
projectRole.HasOne<Role>(r => r.Role).Cascade.None()
projectRole.HasOne<User>(r => r.User).Cascade.SaveUpdate()
I've used fluent nhibernate overrides to setup the cascades as above, but I'm finding that the line
projectRole.HasOne<Role>(r => r.Role).Cascade.None()
is resulting in the ProjectRole.Role property not being saved to the database. I've diagnosed this be looking at the SQL Generated by Nhibernate and I can see that the "Role_id" column in the ProjectRoles table is never set on update or insert.
I've also tried using
projectRole.HasOne<Role>(r => r.Role).Cascade.SaveUpdate()
but that fails as well. Unfortunately leaving it Cascade.All() is not an option as that results in the system deleting the Role objects when I try to delete a project role.
Any idea how to setup Cascade.None() for the ProjectRole-> Role relationship with out breaking persistence.
HasOne is for a one-to-one relationship which are rare. You want to use References to declare the one side of a one-to-many relationship. Making some assumptions about your domain model, the mapping should look like:
project.HasMany<ProjectRoles>(p=> p.Team).Inverse().Cascade.AllDeleteOrphan()
projectRole.References<Role>(r => r.Role);
projectRole.References<User>(r => r.User);

We use Nhibernate and up to now we have been able use the auto mapping. But I think this is about to change.
We have a Code class that has a many to many relation with several other classes.
I’m thinking something along these lines:

Many to Many will lead to the creation of a linking table, in the linking table their needs come a mapping to the classes using codes. In the documentation it is referred to as a “Any” mapping.
But I have no idea how get fluent to create one.
Thoughts anyone? or even better: a solution <);o)}{
You can't map <many-to-any> in Fluent NHibernate - it's not supported.
I think it may be a good reason to move to mapping-by-code, that supports it well.

Fluent NHibernate Mapping - Composite Key

I'm trying to map the following tables/entities in FNH and seem to be getting nowhere fast!

Contacts
ID (PK - int - generated)
...
PhoneTypes
ID (PK - varchar - assigned) (e.g. MOBILE, FAX)
ContactPhones
ContactRefId (PK - FK to Contacts)
PhoneTypeRefId (PK - FK to PhoneTypes)
...
(I should note that I am also using the S#arp Architecture framework)

I read that it is advisable when working with composite ids, to separate the composite id into a different class.

I've had many exceptions thrown when trying to generate the mappings, the latest of which is:
Foreign key (FK672D91AE7F050F12:ContactPhones [ContactRefId, PhoneTypeRefId]))
must have same number of columns as the referenced primary key (Contacts [Id])
Does anyone see anything obvious that I'm doing wrong? I'm new to NH and FNH, which may be obvious from this post. :-) Also, has anyone used Composite Ids like this while using S#arp Architecture? What are the best practices (other than to use surrogate keys :-) ) ?

I have a many to many relationship too. I've got mine setup like this:
mapping.HasManyToMany(x => x.Artists).Cascade.All().Inverse().Table("ArtistImages");
The ArtistImages table has primary keys for tables Artists and Images.

Fluent nHibernate and mapping IDictionary<DaysOfWeek,IDictionay<int, decimal>> how to?

I have problem with making mapping of classes with propert of type Dictionary and value in it of type Dictionary too, like this:

public virtual IDictionary<DayOfWeek, IDictionary<int, decimal>> Class1Dictionary { get; set; }

My mapping looks like this:
Id(i => i.Id);
HasMany(m => m.Class1Dictionary);
This doesn't work. The important thing I want have everything in one table not in two. WHet I had maked class from this second IDictionary I heve bigger problem. But first I can try like it is now.
It's not currently possible to use nested collections of any type in NHibernate.
Instead, you should define your property as follows:
public virtual IDictionary<DayOfWeek, Class2> Class1Dictionary { get; set; }
And add a new class:
public class Class2
{
public virtual decimal this[int key]
{
get { return Class2Dictionary[key]; }
set { Class2Dictionary[key] = value; }
}
public virtual IDictionary<int, decimal> Class2Dictionary { get; set; }
}
This way, you can map both classes and dictionaries normally, and still access your dictionary as:
class1Instance.Class1Dictionary[DayOfWeek.Sunday][1] = 9.4
