flex edit menu operations on multiple textareas - flex3

I have a grid in which one column is having itemrenderer as textarea. My application is menu controled. Now I want to perform edit operations on the textarea using menu items.
Like if I select some text from a textarea in the grid, then I select a menu item "Cut" then it should cut the selected text from the textarea. In this manner I would lie to perform all operations.
I am not getting how to get that the operation is to be performed on which textarea?

inside your menu item click handler, try:
var fcs:IFocusManagerComponent = focusManager.getFocus();
if(fcs is TextArea)
{
var txt:String = TextArea(fcs).text;
System.setClipboard(txt);
}

Modifying column header names in Master-Detail grid in Devexpress

I have a Master-Detail set up with 2 grids. On the master grid, I have the ShowOnlyPredefinedDetails option set to false.
This means that I see a little + sign that allows me to expand the details of the detail grid (in the master grid). I would like to rename
some columns in that section as well as hide certain columns. I'm using VB.NET How do I go about this. See image.
You can accomplish this by using the grid control ViewRegistered event, from there you can modify the columns in that grid view that have columns within them that you want to modify, rename, or remove. Here is an example, I hope that it helps:
private void myGridControl_ViewRegistered(object sender, DevExpress.XtraGrid.ViewOperationEventArgs e)
{
if (e != null)
{
if (e.View != null)
{
//Inside of this statement you can adjust, add, and modify all of the columns inside of that grid that appears when you click on the +
(e.View as GridView).Columns["myHiddenColumn"].Visible = false;
(e.View as GridView).Columns.Add(new GridColumn() { Name = "AddColumn", Caption = "Name To Display", Visible = true, FieldName = "DataField"});
(e.View as GridView).Columns["DataField"].OptionsColumn.AllowEdit = false;
(e.View as GridView).Columns["DataField"].OptionsColumn.AllowFocus = false;
(e.View as GridView).Columns["DataField"].OptionsColumn.ReadOnly = true;
}
}
}
I think all you need to do is create a second grid view for your details. If you haven't already done this, do the following:
In your grid designer, click "Retrieve Details" if you have not already done so. This will cause the designer to recognize that you have a second level in your bound object:
Once you see the second layer, now you need a new grid view for it. Click on "Click here to change view" and select "Create a new view" and pick "GridView."
Now you will see both grid views from the designer, and clicking on one or the other will change the context of the menus to the left:
For example, if you have gridView2 selected, when you click on the "Layout" menu, it will show the current layout for your detail grid rather than the master grid. From here, you can remove or add columns as you see fit. Likewise, from the "Columns" menu you will see the new columns (you may have to add them to the view by dragging them over), and you can change the Caption property to change the text of the title.
I suggest you use the Data Annotation attributes with properties of your data-classes to declare how you data should be displayed in GridControl:
To skip column generation for the specific property you can mark this property with the <DisplayAttribute(AutoGenerateField := false)> declaration.
To prevent column from displaying you can mark this property with the <DisplayAttribute(Order := -1)> declaration. Later, user can show this column via Column Chooser UI.
To specify the column caption use the <DisplayAttribute(Name := "YOUR CAPTION")> declaration.
You can also control filtering/editing/formatting and validation capabilities.

How to open dialog or popup when clicking on a cell in Dojo Dgrid

I want to open a dialog box when clicking on a cell.I am using dgrid/editor.
editor({field: "column1",label: "col1",editor: "text",editOn: "click"})
I am getting text box when using the above code.I want a dialog box.Please tell me how to get a dialog box.I am using OndemandGrid with JSONReststore to display the grid.
You don't need use editor to trigger a dialog, use click event on a cell is ok:
var grid = new declare([OnDemandGrid,Keyboard, Selection])({
store: Observable(new Memory({data: []}))
}, yourGridConatiner);
grid.on(".dgrid-content .dgrid-cell:click", function (evt) {
var cell = grid.cell(evt);
var data = cell.row.data;
/* your dialog creation at here, for example like below */
var dlg = new Dialog({
title: "Dialog",
className:"dialogclass",
content: dlgDiv //you need create this div using dojo.create or put-selector
});
dlg.show();
});
If you want show a pointer while mouse over that cell, you can style it at renderCell method with "cursor:pointer"
From the wiki:
editor - The type of component to use for editors in this column; either a string specifying a type of standard HTML input to create, or a Dijit widget constructor to instantiate.
You could provide (to editor) a button that pops up a dialog when clicked, but that would probably mean two clicks to edit a cell: one to focus or enter edit mode or otherwise get the button to appear and one to actually click the button.
You could also not bother with the editor plugin and attach a click event handler to the cell and pop up a dialog from there. You would have to manually save the changes back to your store if you went that route.
If I understand you right - you could try something like this:
function cellFormatter1(value) {
//output html-code to open your popup - ie. using value (of cell)
}
......
{field: "column1",label: "col1", formatter: cellFormatter1 }

Dynamic menu button items in TinyMCE

I have a custom menubutton in my tinyMCE editor that uses specific HTML elements elsewhere on the page as the menu items. I use a jQuery selector to get the list of elements and then add one each as a menu item:
c.onRenderMenu.add(function(c,m) {
m.add({ title: 'Pick One:', 'class': 'mceMenuItemTitle' }).setDisabled(1);
$('span[data-menuitem]').each(function() {
var val = $(this).html();
m.add({
title: $(this).attr("data-menuitem"),
onclick: function () { tinyMCE.activeEditor.execCommand('mceInsertContent', false, val) }
});
});
});
My problem is that this only happens once when the button is first clicked and the menu is first rendered. The HTML elements on the current page will change occasionally based on user clicks and some AJAX, so I need this selector code to run each time the menu is rendered to make sure the menu is fully up-to-date. Is that possible?
Failing that, is it possible to dynamically update the control from the end of my AJAX call elsewhere in the page? I'm not sure how to access the menu item and to update it. Something using tinyMCE.activeEditor.controlManager...?
Thanks!
I found a solution to this problem, though I'm not sure it's the best path.
It doesn't look like I can make tinyMCE re-render the menu, so instead I've added some code at the end of my AJAX call: after it has updated the DOM then it manually updates the tinymce drop menu.
The menu object is accessible using:
tinyMCE.activeEditor.controlManager.get('editor_mybutton_menu')
where mybutton is the name of my custom control. My quick-and-dirty solution is to call removeAll() on this menu object (to remove all the current menu items) and then to re-execute my selector code to find the matching elements in the (new) DOM and to add the menu items back based on the new state.
It seems to work just fine, though tweaks & ideas are always welcome!

Setting input focus after tab is clicked

When a page has a search box with multiple tabs, one of the tabs is always selected; either the default tab is selected or the user has changed the tab. In either case the search input box of the selected tab should always have the keyboard focus so the user can just start typing their keywords.
Example: search box on http://www.lib.umd.edu/
Do you know how I could get the focus to be in the input box when a different tab is clicked? I got it to work on the first tab, but when I click another tab, the focus is lost.
The script I am using:
<script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript">
document.forms[''].elements[''].focus();
</script>
$(document).ready(function () {
setTimeout(function () {
// focus on the txtenclude text area first visible and enabled input field or textarea
$(":input:visible:enabled").each(function () {
if ($(this).is('textarea')) {
$(this).focus();
return false;
}
});
}, 1000);
Your code snippet
To set the focus on a certain element you have to specify which element should receive the focus. In your snippet this specification is missing:
document.forms[''].elements[''].focus();
If you want to you can use this line: document.getElementById("DuringSearch").focus();
DuringSearch is the id of the input element that should receive the focus <input id="DuringSearch" type="text">
The problem that needs to be solved is to change the id based on the tab that was clicked.
There are several ways to achieve this. In a previous post is used an attribte named data-tab.
Example to wire up tabs and focus to input
To attach an event handler to a click on a tab you can do the follwing (using jQuery) on document.ready:
// add event handler for click on tab
$("#tabs li").click(function () {
loadTabs(this);
setFocusOnInput(this);
return false;
});
If you click on a tab the attached event fires and executes the 2 functions: loadTabs and setFocusOnInput.
To set the focus you need to know the id of that input-box. In my exmaple i am using an attribute data-tab
<li data-tab="Before">
Before
</li>
In my example i use the following function:
function setFocusOnInput(_this){
var tab = $(_this).attr("data-tab");
var searchId = tab + "Search"
console.log("_this:", _this);
document.getElementById(searchId).focus();
}
See more explanations on my previous post.
Could you elaborate what you want to know. Do you want to know how to wire it up in general or how to do it in a specific case?

Robotium ListView with Buttons, can't click on the buttons in the list

I have a dragablelistview with a title and imagebuttons for each item to delete that item.
How do I click on the imageview?
clickInList(int , int) does not work (unless i am doing it wrong?)
Try
clickOnText(String) or clickOnImage(int) clickOnImageButton(int) instead
Try to obtain the view of the list item, something like this :
//get the list view
ListView myList = (ListView)solo.getView(R.id.list);
//get the list element at the position you want
View listElement = myLyst.getChildAt(position);
//click on imageView inside that list element
solo.clickOnView(solo.getView(listEelement.findViewById(R.id.image_button)));
