Extract dimensions from a pandas column excluding year - pandas

I have a Sku master description and I want to extract just dimensional numbers (volume / weight related) and exclude all other charactor & figure combinations that are not relevant such as "year" , "N5", "number of products bought"

The following regex matches your targeted parts and units.

\b matches a word boundary
\d is a short for digit
(?: non capture group ) with alternation
[ character class ] matches one character from the listed
* repeats any amount of times, ? zero or one (optional)
The pattern above is not highly accurate but should get the job done.
More specific: \b\d+(?:\.\d+)?(?:x\d+(?:\.\d+)?)*(?:ml|[cdm]?m)\b

I have column in a df with a size range with different sizeformats.

in the sizerange are also these other size formats like XS - XXL, 36-50 , 36/38 - 52/54, ONE, XS/S - XL/XXL, 363-545
I have tried to get the prefix '0' out of all sizes with start with a letter in range (A:K). For exemple: Want to change B080 into B80. B100 stays B100.
steps:
1 look for items in column ['size'] with first letter of string in range (A:K),
2 if True change second position in string into ''
for range I use:

Slightly longer explanation
Regexes are very handy but also hard. In the solution above, we are trying to find the pattern of interest and then replace it. In our case, the pattern of interest is made of 3 parts -
A letter in from A-K
Zero or more 0's
Some more digits
In regex terms - this can be written as r'([a-kA-K])(0*)(\d+)'. Note that the 3 brackets make up the 3 parts - they are called groups. It might make a little or no sense depending on how exposed you have been to regexes in the past - but you can get it from any introduction to regexes online.
Once we have the parts, what we want to do is retain everything else except part-2, which is the 0s.
The pd.Series.str.replace documentation has the details on the replacement portion. In essence replacement is a function that takes all the matching groups as the input and produces an output.
In the first part - where we identified three groups or parts. These groups are accessed with the mpat.groups() function - which returns a tuple containing the match for each group. We want to reconstruct a string with the middle part excluded, which is what the replacement function does

Unable to create new features in Machine learning

I have a dataset. I am using pandas dataframe and named it df.
The dataset has 50,000 rows - here are the first 5:.

I want to create column which contains the no. of cuisines available
I am trying code
df['no._of_cuisines_available']=df['cuisines_available'].str.len()
Then instead of showing the no. of cuisines, it is showing the sum of charecters.
For example - for first row the o/p should be 2 , but its showing 17.
I need a new column that contain number of stores for each restaurant. example -
here kfc has 2 stores kfc, lukestreet and kfc, hypert mall. I have completely
no idea how to code this.

What ii) does: split columns at ',' and store all strings thus generated in an individual column. Then use melt to make one big column, strip away spaces etc. and count individual entries.

Is there a SQL function statement which returns an array within limits and replaces digits with * to reduce the size

Need to write a sql function that takes two different integers with the same length (same amount of digits) as arguments: one lower threshold and one upper threshold.
And the function should return a vector with all whole numbers between the two thresholds - but to reduce the array length, your function is supposed to return a wildcard character instead of the digits where possible.
Example: output of the function for a lower threshold L = 3778 and an upper threshold U = 9423
To further clarify, the line in the example showing 941* has one digit replaced by the wild card character and hence represents all values from 9410 - 9419
The line in the example showing 93* has two digits replaced by the wildcard character and represents all values from 9300 - 9399
And so on.

Regex - isolating string from larger word

The following regex within DB2 SQL works pretty well to get extra elements out of an address (i.e. not the street name or number). Limiting myself to two cases (UNIT or GATE) to keep my example simple, where HAD1 is the field containing the first line of a street address:

Which is very encouraging. It correctly didn't pick up HIGHGATE or WESTGATE because they weren't followed by a space then something else.
But it did pick up LUGGATE (last line), which I don't want. So, I'd like to be able to include that my text strings are not preceded by any character.
As you may guess I'm an absolute beginner with regex, so thank you for your patience.

Now I have my most excellent regex like so:
\b(GATE|LEVEL|DOOR|UNITS?)\s[\dA-Z]{1,}
Using it over a larger data set I notice the occasional unwanted match where, for instance, GATE is followed by an ordinary English word:
THE THIRD GATE ON THE LEFT = GATE ON
The gates, levels, doors and units that I'm looking for will always be followed by one of the following: (a) A number of up to 6 digits (b) One letter (c) A number and one letter, possibly with a dash
Examples:

So, my follow up question is, can I limit the number of letters in second part of the expression to 0 or 1, but allow up to six digits.
I've played around with the numbers in curly brackets but they seem to affect only how many characters are returned rather than how many characters must be present.

I have data in pandas dataframe. i need to extract all the content between the string which starts with "Impact Factor:" and ends with "&#". If the content doesn't have "Impact Factor:" i want null in that row of the dataframe
this is sample data from a single row.

You may want to strip white spaces too in which case you could use:
