Email addresses automatically getting added to Global Unsubscribe after API send - api

I have a weird problem where some email addresses are automatically getting added to my Global Unsubscribes after each API send to that address.
The initial email gets sent and delivered, but then the receiving address is automatically added to the group, and any subsequent API sends will cause the email to get dropped immediately. I have to manually remove the addresses every time.
Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

I had the same issue, it seems like some spam filters "click" all the links that are in emails. I also contacted sendgrid support and they confirmed that this might be the case and there is nothing they can do about it.
Unfortunately the only solution I could come up with is a two step unsubscribe, that you have to implement yourself. Creating unsubscribe links that redirect you to your own server, where you add a confirmation step.

Autoresponder in Gmail without "Vacation Responder"?

I'm trying to set up an autoresponder in Gmail that is not a typical vacation responder that's sent via a separate email. My autoresponder should respond directly to the email that came to the inbox.
There used to be a way with IFTTT, but they've since removed any Gmail triggers.
The reason I am looking for this is that I have a business on Yelp and when customers request quotes on Yelp, they get sent to my email. I can either open the Yelp app (or website) and respond there or respond directly to that email from my email address (it doesn't work to send a separate email to that Yelp email).
Has anyone ever done anything like this before? Alternatively, I was thinking of going the somewhat more complicated route and have an "incoming email" trigger in Zapier and then have something scrape the email for links and set up an automation to respond with my standard response, but that seemed like a lot...
I've solved it with Zapier! Basically, in Zapier you need to set up a Gmail response and respond to the same thread ID as the original email. This will work for any "respond to this email to respond to the client" messages from pages like Yelp for Business.

Email Deliverability - Wrong Email in From section

I recently started working in hosting/software firm. And currently we have problem with our DNS server.
Two days ago we started getting complaints from our clients that they are receiving emails but in the From section there is a mistake, it shows wrong email of a sender. The email address that's displayed is a random address from one of our clients.
After trying to solve this problem i realized that in Email Deliverability section in cPanel Problems Exist (DKIM, SPF, and Reverse DNS).
When clicked on manage it shows how the records should look and it says that I need to update them, the problem is those same inputs do exist and so the problem persists.
It's important to note that this is a shared hosting server.
Is this some form of hacker attack? Did anyone ever had the same problem?
The sender email address is always specified by the mail client used to send that email (it's common to make mistakes in mail client settings). If those emails are not really sent by your team/server, it could be spoofing. You can implement SPF/DKIM + DMARC in your domain so that recipients can reject spoofed messages whenever they're not coming from your server.
Turns off the problem was coming from a different IP address. We were being attacked. As soon as we blocked it it stopped, and that error cPanel was showing was because the configuration on our server, it was always there.
This was the problem. I advise all WHM/cPanel users to update ASAP because the problem is really hard to find once you get in the middle of it.

You can monitor your email health score with a mail testing service.
These services allow you to check for deliverability issues along with spam activity on your email. Warmup Inbox provides a health score to all users. It's nice to keep track of how your email is performing/what needs to be improved.
Implementing a SPF record alongside proper DMARC and DKIM settings for your domain will drastically increase the overall deliverability rates of all outgoing mail coming from your domain. DKIM and DMARC increase deliverability rating as well as keep your mail server safe from malicious attacks and damaging spam mail.

Send email to pushbullet?

The website "PushBullet.com" is webwashed(filtered) by our proxy, at work.
But I really need to send some notifications to my devices.
Is there a way to send them thru the good old email protocol ?
So there is no officially supported feature for this, but you can sort of fake it using the existing email-to-push feature.
Send a push to an email address that is not a pushbullet account, such as yourgmailaccount+randomstring#gmail.com. It will have a from address of someotherrandomstring#pushbulletuseremail.com.
You can then send emails to that address, and they should show up in your pushes list.
Proposed method with random strings in email address doesn't work.
This method works. Not an email, just pure notification as required.
The library developer suggests also command line notification send. Simple and handy.

I haven't gotten a chance to try it yet but I think this will do what you're wanting. Just tested it, and it works really well if you're able to run a postfix server.
I use Zapier for this (you can do it with a free account).
Set up a Zap to search for new mail under a label (I use "pushbullet-notify"), and send any message there to Pushbullet.
Then in Gmail just create filters for any mails you want PB notifications on, applying the same label.
The notification may be delayed up to 15 minutes from the time the email is received and labeled (free accounts check every 15 minutes).

MailChimp/Mandrill webhook for message created/scheduled

Is it possible to get MailChimp or Mandrill to notify a webhook URL whenever a message is either created for a list, or scheduled to be sent, along with the list and message IDs?
I have a client that wants to intercept messages from his campaign, add special data from his server, then send the resulting template through his connected Mandrill account. I'm trying to figure out how to implement the first step in this process.
Although I know this is old someone may stumble into this thread, have you checked out the webhook information?

It has an easy way to implement it inside the account. You just setup a URL to intercept and parse the incoming data. I recommend first saving the data then using a scheduled task to parse the job separately so you don't lose data (although mandrill will try 100x).
If the unique id is not enough for you with your events, and you are concerned about specific campaigns you can tag the emails upon send and they will have the tagged information with the incoming event.

Mailchimp API (v1.3): addresses added with listSubscribe() don't appear in dashboard

I'm using Mailchimp's API (v1.3) to add email addresses to a subscriber list on one of our sites. Obviously, I'm using listSubscribe() and everything is working fine, for the most part (read: API call returns true, all of the data I'm sending to Mailchimp gets added/updated correctly).
The problem, however, is that whenever a new address is added, the things that are normally supposed to happen (in particular: email notifications to list manager, addresses showing up in the dashboard list status stream) aren't happening.
I've looked around for quite a bit and haven't found anyone with the same issue. Any ideas?
The default action of listSubscribe to add a subscriber is opt-in. This means that when you submit a listSubscribe the subscribed user will get an email asking to confirm their opt-in.
If the user does not follow the link in the email then they will not appear in the dashboard.
You can bypass this by using:

However this is only recommended for very occasional circumstances (essentially where you are handling the opt-in).
In my case I am not activating a user account until they verify their email address. If let the opt-in email be sent then the user is going to get a number of emails from my web app. I'm being very careful to make sure that they're verifying their subscription and all subscription stuff is being processed by the web app (eg a user unsubscribes within the web app, not via MailChimp).
I talked to the Mailchimp support, and they said those actions won't happen using their public API; there is no way to trigger them.
