I am trying to install tensorflow on a MacBook Air M1 by following the instructions on: https://developer.apple.com/metal/tensorflow-plugin/ in a virtual env mlp.
which python outputs /Users/bernardino/miniforge3/envs/mlp/bin/python\
When I run conda install -c apple tensorflow-deps I get the following error systematically.

Can someone help?
I found another thread on the same issue on github https://github.com/conda/conda/issues/11638
. From what they said, it seems anaconda packages cant be installed right now due to some outages. Heres the Tweet

Some package downloads from http://conda.anaconda.org are currently being affected. The #anacondainc team has traced it back to Cloudflare's system outages and is actively working to resolve it. In the interim, please check https://cloudflarestatus.com for Cloudflare updates.

I'm suddenly having issues deploying my apps to AWS ECS using the Convox CLI. When I am trying as of Friday, this is what happens:
$ convox deploy -a my-app -r test
Packaging source... OK
Uploading source... OK
Starting build... ERROR: response status 502
This is regardless of rack, and other operations such as "env" and "logs" seem to work. I don't know how to go about trouble shooting this. Is there some switch I can use to get more debug info from the CLI? I am assuming the "502" is an HTTP error code, but I do not know where it is coming from. I've looked around in AWS, but can not seem to find any errors there (however, is not sure where to look).
Any help would be appreciated.
Had the same problem on a rack running a version from 2019. Solved this updating the rack to version 20211019100155 as Brian suggested.
I have downloaded YouTube videos using ClipGrab before (v3.8.11), but after updating it (to v3.9.6) I get an error.
First I am informed that an additional dependency "youtube-dl" must be downloaded.
But when I try to do this I get: Error downloading youtube-dl: SSL handshake failed
I tried installing youtube-dl separately using brew install youtube-dl and it appears to have succeeded, but ClipGrab doesn't see this installation, and still gives the SSL error.
I tried going back to my old version of ClipGrab (v3.8.11) but it now gives a different error: Could not retrieve video link. So maybe there is some server issue or other problem not local to the app, that is preventing the old version from working too.
(1) Is there a way to get around the SSL error or make ClipGrab recognize my brew installation of youtube-dl? (2) If there is no way to get the current v3.9.6 working, is there a way to get an older version working?
Thanks
Hopefully this will work for you (it worked for me). I'm on Kubuntu 22.04, I had to manually download yt-dlp:
mkdir -p ~/.local/share/ClipGrab/ClipGrab
wget -P ~/.local/share/ClipGrab/ClipGrab/ \
https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp/releases/latest/download/yt-dlp
After that clipgrab started working
Not sure about Mac using homebrew but with Linux this was my solution.
Running kubuntu 22.04 Same SSL handshake error
Here is the fix that worked for me..
Download the yt-dlp file from:
https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp#release-files
The yt-dlp file found on that page it is the first file in the recommended listing column.
On your computer:
Allow your file manager to show invisible directories/files. Or navigate with the terminal.
Navigate to home/user/.local/share/ClipGrab/ClipGrab/yt-dlp
Overwrite the existing file which will be there but empty, with the file you downloaded from the above link.
Open ClipGrab and the SSL error will be gone and the app will function.
I use Anaconda Navigator for my machine learning experiments. Recently, I have started getting this strange SSL error no matter what I try to install using conda prompt. The error is SSL error. I am posting the error message that I get

I have an institutional proxy server; the credentials, apt.conf file etc are all OK.
Even then I am not able to install any package using conda.
Interestingly, I have installed numerous packages using conda prompt and I never faced any such error until recently. Also, I am able to follow the links (using the browser) given in the error message which means that the proxy is not blocking the site.
I was asked to use
conda config --set ssl_verify True
but even this did not help. Any help ?
I even entered the proxy server details as given in HTTP error while using conda for installation of any packages
Try copying these files from Anaconda3/Library/bin to Anaconda3/DLLs :
libcrypto-1_1-x64.dll
libssl-1_1-x64.dll
When I had an SSL error related to conda on my work laptop behind a firewall, I had to set ssl_verify to false to get it to work.
This should do the job.
conda config --set ssl_verify False
This is due to .dll error
go to location where you've install anaconda3>Library>bin. search and copy following dll files
libcrypto-1_1-x64.dll
libssl-1_1-x64.dll
and paste to anaconda3>DLLs.
then restart your pc.
issue will get resolved.
The following steps worked for me:
Use this command to see proxy_servers
conda config --show
This will remove saved proxy servers from anaconda configuration.
conda config --remove-key proxy_servers
conda clean --source-cache
Hope this helps you.
I am trying to install tensorflow-gpu by running pip install tensorflow-gpu Windows, inside an Anaconda enviornment, but I am getting the following error:
Could not install packages due to an EnvironmentError: [SSL: DECRYPTION_FAILED_OR_BAD_RECORD_MAC] decryption failed or bad record mac (_ssl.c:1977)
I also tried doing it in a command prompt with administrator access, but it still didn't work.

Could not install packages due to an EnvironmentError: [SSL: DECRYPTION_FAILED_OR_BAD_RECORD_MAC] decryption failed or bad record mac (_ssl.c:1977)
All other network-related activities(such as browsing the web) work properly on the computer. I also have the correct CUDA and cuDNN installed, along with the latest NVIDIA drivers.
I fixed this problem by purging my Anaconda installation and reinstalling it, and then installing tensorflow-gpu. However, I am still curious as to why this error even happened in the first place.
It's related to network connection. I faced the same error in my Ubuntu system. Hence solved it by changing my network(WiFi) connection.
Use the following syntax while installation packages:
pip install --user packagename
I had the same problem with PyCharm to install tensorflow. As Dimitri Bolt described, I started the CMD as administrator and used the sytax described by Devendra Kanade. I got the error again, but each time I started the command, the progress became bigger. After three or four times, the download was successful and I was able to import tensorflow in PyCharm.
You should note "Downloading" (19%, not finished yet) in the pip-msg just before the error. For pip, this means 99% that this is a download error.
The quick fix is to increase <retries> in the pip option :
--retries <retries> Maximum number of retries each connection should attempt (default 5 times).
NB: I've never tried this.
The general fix using normal download (I tried this to install PyQt5) :
a) Find the name of the problematic web-file in your pip-errmsg, enclosed in quotes, then google the whole (including quotes). In your case, that will be "tensorflow_gpu-1.9.0-cp35-cp35m-win_amd64.whl" .
b) Choose a reliable site and download that file. Windows 10 may give you erroneous msg about some .part-file but just ignore that msg and download again.
c) Load your browser list for downloaded files. For Firefox, ctrl-J will load that list (library). If failure, click to repeat download on the list (not site). You may need to repeat the clicking 10 times for the download to be successful !!!
d) Suppose that "tensorflow_gpu-1.9.0-cp35-cp35m-win_amd64.whl" is now in the local folder c:\Users\uuuu\Downloads\ .
Create in this folder an ansi-text file named "example-requirements.txt" which has 3 lines(2 empty lines) as below:
tensorflow_gpu-1.9.0-cp35-cp35m-win_amd64.whl
e) Now in a normal command prompt, issue 3 commands as below:
c:
cd c:\Users\uuuu\Downloads\
pip install --requirement example-requirements.txt --no-cache-dir
NB: you can copy and paste, very easy in Win 10.
f) If successful, done now !
g) If you again have pip-problem with downloading another web-file then you must repeat a) , b) , c) , d) and edit the old "example-requirements.txt" to contain 4 lines(2 empty lines) as below:
tensorflow_gpu-1.9.0-cp35-cp35m-win_amd64.whl
another-file-name-with-extension
h) Repeat e) , f) , g) ... ...
NB: DOC for pip install-options are found on https://pip.pypa.io/en/stable/cli/pip_install/#
(search for "Example Requirements File" on the page).
stumbled upon the same error while installing via conda, updating conda solved the problem (btw, the new version downloaded the packages sequentially, whilst the older attempted a parallel download)
Reinstall the library again!
I face this problem for several libraries like tensorflow-gpu and matplotlib
I have no idea why but if i found something i will share.
I am having a problem getting CutyCapt to work with SSL URLs, I have the most recent version of CutyCapt (CutyCapt.cpp 10 2013-07-14 21:57:37Z), it works perfect with all non-SSL URLs, when I try to grab a URL with SSL using the following command:
./xvfb-run ./CutyCapt --min-width=1280 --min-height=720 --max-wait=6000 \
--url="https://apple.com" --out="testssl.jpg"
I get the following error:
QPainter::begin: Paint device returned engine == 0, type: 3
QPainter::setRenderHint: Painter must be active to set rendering hints
QPainter::setBrush: Painter not active
QPainter::pen: Painter not active
QPainter::setPen: Painter not active
QPainter::end: Painter not active, aborted
./xvfb-run: line 171: kill: (6557) - No such process
Note: when I run it with no HTTPS, it runs fine:
./xvfb-run ./CutyCapt --min-width=1280 --min-height=720 --max-wait=6000 \
--url="http://apple.com" --out="testssl.jpg"
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
For anyone else stumbling upon this like me.
Install Qt5 (you're going to need it). You're going to run into several package issues, just google each error and you'll fix them(you'll be back on StackOverflow several times).
After that, install the latest CutyCapt, and run it with the --insecure parameter. This worked for me on Ubuntu 14.04.
