Convert float64 to a string with thousand separators - pandas

I have a Population Estimate series with numbers as float64 and I need to convert them to a string with thousands separator (using commas). Using all significant digits (no rounding).
e.g. 12345678.90345 -> 12,345,678.90345

Try applying a comma-float string formatter.
population = population.apply('{:,.5f}'.format)

To achieve the desired formatting, you could use '{:,}'.format.
This will use commas as thousands separator and only output the values that are in your data and not clip or fill to a certain number of digits.
data = data.apply('{:,}'.format)

I'm using this for adding commas into number.
val commaNumber = NumberFormat.getNumberInstance(Locale.US).format(floatValue)
floatValue is 8.1E-7 , but commaNumber shows just 0.

For the US locale, the maximumFractionalDigits of the number format is 3, therefore, it will try to format 8.1e-7 with only 3 fractional digits, which makes it 0.000. Since the minimumFractionalDigits is also 0, it tries to remove all the unnecessary 0s, making the final result "0".
You should set maximumFractionalDigits to at least 7 if you want to precisely display the number 8.1e-7.
val numberFormat = NumberFormat.getNumberInstance(Locale.US)
numberFormat.maximumFractionDigits = 7
val commaNumber = numberFormat.format(floatValue)
As for the commas, that is already part of the US locale. It uses grouping, and , is its grouping separator. The commas will be inserted if they are needed.

Python: Remove exponential in Strings

I have been trying to remove the exponential in a string for the longest time to no avail.
The column involves strings with alphabets in it and also long numbers of more than 24 digits. I tried converting the column to string with .astype(str) but it just reads the line as "1.234123E+23". An example of the table is

how do i get the table to show the full string of digits in pandas?
b = "1.234123E+23"
str(int(float(b)))
output is '123412299999999992791040'
no idea how to do it in pandas with mixed data type in column

You can specify a format for numeric values using the Format property of the TextBox.
Examples of formatting string (full list here):
c: currency
d: decimal
p: percentage
To specify 2 decimal places you can set a formatting string like this: p2

what is the differences between +n and (n) in bit operations?

I've found two parameters defined like these:
&TM_PERIOD+4&/&TM_PERIOD(4)&
It's to pass data from a database to a form.
If the format of the data would be DDMMYYYY what are differences between those two parameters?
if TM_PRIOD is in form of DDMMYYYY then
TM_PERIOD(4) equals DDMM
TM_PERIOD+4 equals YYYY
the (4) means 4 characters
the +4 means after the 4th character
TM_PERIOD+1(2) = DM
(2 characters after the first)
These are not bit operations. +n specifies a string offset and (n) specifies the length.
They can be used independently of each other as well, so you can use just +n or just (n).
So:
data: lv_text(20) type c.
lv_text = "Hello".
write: / lv_text+2(3).
would output 'llo', for example.

vb.net what is a good way of displaying a decimal with a given maximum length

I am writing a custom totaling method for a grid view. I am totaling fairly large numbers so I'd like to use a decimal to get the total. The problem is I need to control the maximum length of the total number. To solve this problem I started using float but it doesn't seem to support large enough numbers, I get this in the totals column(1.551538E+07). So is there some formating string I can use in .ToString() to guarentee that I never get more then X characters in the total field? Keep in mind I'm totaling integers and decimals.
If you're fine with all numbers displaying in scientific notation, you could go with "E[numberOfDecimalPlaces]" as your format string.
For example, if you want to cap your strings at, say, 12 characters, then, accounting for the one character for the decimal point and five characters needed to display the exponential part, you could do:

You could use Decimal.Round, but I don't understand the exact question, it sounds like you're saying that if the total adds up to 12345.67, you might only want to show 4 digits and would then show 2345 or do you just mean that you want to remove the decimals?
