Laravel ajax my column id is not being shown by console.log - sql

Demonstration on how my catagory_id is being read (console.log each time I press the edit button)
$(document).on('click','.edit_category',function (e) {
e.preventDefault();
var cat_id = $(this).val();
console.log(cat_id);
});
My problem is when I try to output the an array shown at the consoles by clicking the edit button (testing purposes)
Not sure how I still get the 404 as the category_id is already defined in the table
blade:
<td>
<button type="button" value="${cat.category_id}" class="edit_category btn btn-outline-secondary"><i class="fas fa-edit"></i> Edit</button>
<button type="button" value="${cat.category_id}" class="delete_category btn btn-outline-secondary"><i class="fas fa-trash"></i> Delete</button>
</td>
ajax:
$(document).on('click','.edit_category',function (e) {
e.preventDefault();
var cat_id = $(this).val();
// console.log(cat_id);
$('#editCategoryModal').modal('show');
$.ajax({
type: "GET",
url: "/bbr-category-configuration-edit/"+cat_id,
success: function (response) {
console.log(response);
}
});
});
controller:
public function edit($category_id) {
$category_edit = HmsBbrCategory::find($category_id);
if ($category_edit)
{
return response()->json([
'status'=>200,
'status'=>$category_edit,
]);
}
else
{
return response()->json([
'status'=>404,
'status'=>'Category Not Found',
]);
}
}
model:
public $timestamps = false;
protected $table = 'hms_bbr_category';
route:
Route::get('/bbr-category-configuration', [BBRCategoryConfigurationController::class,'index']);
Route::get('/bbr-category-configuration-data', [BBRCategoryConfigurationController::class,'fetchcategory']);
Route::post('/bbr-category-configuration', [BBRCategoryConfigurationController::class,'store']);
Route::get('/bbr-category-configuration-edit/{category_id}', [BBRCategoryConfigurationController::class,'edit']);
any advice or input would be appreciated, thankyou

how to get data from database using ajax asp.net core

According to the following codes i have created the Get Handler in Index Model
public IActionResult OnGetCustomer(CustomerSearchModel searchModel)
{
CustomerCombine combine = new CustomerCombine
{
MyViewModels = _customerApplication.GetAll(searchModel)
};
return Partial("./Customer", combine);
}
and this is my Razor View:
#model CustomerCombine
<form asp-page="./Index" asp-page-handler="Customer"
method="get"
data-ajax="true"
data-callback=""
data-action="Refresh"
>
<div class="form-group">
<input asp-for="#Model.MySearchModel.FullName" class="form-control " placeholder="search..." />
</div>
<button class="customer-submit btn btn-success" type="submit">جستجو</button>
</form>
<table>
#foreach (var item in #Model.MyViewModels)
{
<tr>
<td>#item.Id</td>
<td>#item.FullName</td>
<td>#item.Mobile</td>
<td>#item.Email</td>
<td>#item.Address</td>
<td>#item.Image</td>
</tr>
}
</table>
My modal is displayed successfully,and i can see my database's data, but when i fill search field and click on search button , nothing happens
can any one help me plz?:)
and this is my jquey codes: i dont anything about Jquery and these codes were ready and now i dont knoe how i should use from it

1.The third parameter of $.get() is the success function.
2.There is no isSucceced property in your postback data. The postback data is the partial view html code. You need use $("xxx").html(data); to update the partial view code.
3.Model Binding binds the property by name, <input asp-for="#Model.MySearchModel.FullName"/> does not match the CustomerSearchModel searchModel.

Change datatable row controls dynamically

I have a datatable in which I add rows dynamically after user clicks on add button. Now my requirement is I dynamically add 2 textboxes and a save button. Once the user clicks on Save button the value entered in the textboxes needs to be save as a label, and the Save button text turned to edit.
If the user clicks edit button, the label needs to be changed to textboxes again and edit button text changed to Save.
Following is my code so far:
function addNewRow() {
$('#addRow').on('click', function () {
t.row.add([
'<input type="text" class="form-control">',
'<input type="text" class="form-control">',
'<button type="button" class="btn green btn-xs select-row" data-id="7" data-includeTax="N">Save</button>'
]).draw();
});
}
var t;
$(document).ready(function () {
t = $('#datatable').DataTable();
});
Any suggestions on the same. Actually the fields are going to be lot more then this, but just want guidance and what should be the approach for this?.
Thanks In Advance!!!.
You can do like this to solve your issue:
$(document).ready(function () {
t = $('#datatable').DataTable();
$('#addRow').on('click', function () {
t.row.add([
'<input type="text" class="form-control text1">',
'<input type="text" class="form-control text2">',
'<button type="button" class="btn green btn-xs select-row save_btn" data-id="7" data-includeTax="N">Save</button>'
]).draw();
});
$('body').on('click', '.save_btn', function (e) {
e.preventDafault();
var _this = $(this);
$.ajax({
type: 'post',
url: 'your url',
data: { 'text1' : $(this).closest('tr').find('.text1').val(), 'text2' : $(this).closest('tr').find('.text2').val() },
dataType : 'json',
})
.done(function (data) {
_this.text('Edit');
_this.addClass('edit_btn');
_this.removeClass('save_btn');
});
return false;
});
$('body').on('click', '.edit_btn', function () {
_this.text('Save');
_this.addClass('save_btn');
_this.removeClass('edit_btn');
});
});

Making a value from a fetch call available immediately

I have a Go program written that has a form which checks for the existence of a file by calling a fetch on a route inside the Go code. If the file exists or not, a boolean is return inside of a JSON as fileExists. I'm having trouble with the fetch call's JSON updating this.found boolean immediately.
What happens is that when I press enter or click the buttons, the form is submitted via call to onSubmit where the checkFile() is called which does the fetch. Somehow, I have to press enter twice to see the value returned by the fetch as it is not updating the this.found immediately. I am probably thinking about this the wrong way, but I figure it wouldn't to ask. Here's the code, if anyone can help so that clicking or submitting will be based on the correct value returned by the checkFile call:
<div class="jumbotron">
<div class="container">
<div class="alert alert-dark" role="alert">
</div>
<h1 class="display-3">Title</h1>
<div id="app">
<form ref="myForm" method="POST" v-on:submit.prevent="onSubmit" action="/push" class="needs-validation" id="myForm" novalidate="true">
<div class="form-group">
Canned List:
<input v-model="cannedlist" ref="cannedlist" type="text" class="form-control" name="fileListFile" id="filelist"
aria-describedby="fileListFileHelp"
autocomplete="off" :disabled="!!individuallist" v-on:submit.prevent="onSubmit" />
</div>
<div class="form-group">
Path List:
<textarea v-model="individuallist" ref="cannedlist" :disabled="!!cannedlist" class="form-control" rows=10 name="fileListRaw" id="files" autocomplete="off"></textarea>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<button v-on:submit.prevent="onSubmit" type="submit" name="button" value="submit" id="submitButton" class="btn btn-primary" :disabled="isDisabled">Submit</button>
<button v-on:submit.prevent="onSubmit" type="submit" name="button" value="checkOnly" id="checkOnlyButton" class="btn btn-primary" :disabled="isDisabled">Submit 2</button>
</div>
</form>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<script src="/static/js/vue.min.js"></script>
<script>
const app = new Vue({
el: '#app',
data: {
// cannedlist: "filelist.txt",
individuallist: "",
found: false,
},
computed: {
isDisabled: function() {
//found = !found;
return (this.cannedlist.length <= 0 && this.individuallist.length <= 0);
},
},
methods: {
isDisabledNew: function() {
alert((this.cannedlist.length <= 0 && this.individuallist.length <= 0));
// return (this.cannedlist.length <= 0 && this.individuallist.length <= 0);
return false;
},
isFieldDisabled: function(e) {
//console.log(app.$refs.individuallist.disabled);
return false;
},
onSubmit: function() {
if (this.cannedlist.length > 0) {
this.checkFile();
if (this.found == true) {
this.$refs.myForm.submit();
return;
}
} else if (this.individuallist.length > 0) {
this.$refs.myForm.submit();
return;
}
},
checkFile: function() {
var url = 'http://localhost:9000/CheckIfFileExists?name=' + this.cannedlist;
return fetch(url)
.then(response => {
if (response.ok) {
var v = response.json().then( response => { this.found = response.fileExists; } );
return this.found;
}
return response.json().then(error => ({ error }));
});
return this.found;
},
}
});
</script>
Your onSubmit function calls checkFile and expects found to be updated:
onSubmit: function() {
if (this.cannedlist.length > 0) {
this.checkFile();
if (this.found == true) {
this.$refs.myForm.submit();
return;
}
} else if (this.individuallist.length > 0) {
this.$refs.myForm.submit();
return;
}
},
But checkFile returns a Promise. The Promise resolves by updating found. So you need to put your found checking inside a then block:
onSubmit: function() {
if (this.cannedlist.length > 0) {
this.checkFile()
.then(() => {
if (this.found == true) {
this.$refs.myForm.submit();
}
});
return;
} else if (this.individuallist.length > 0) {
this.$refs.myForm.submit();
return;
}
},
Here're the changes I made:
methods: {
onSubmit: function(event) {
if (this.cannedlist.length > 0) {
this.checkFile()
// This promise capture is the key I was missing
.then( (data) => {
this.found = data.fileExists;
if (this.found == true) {
this.$refs.myForm.submit();
} else {
alert("File not found: " + this.cannedlist);
}
});
} else if (this.individuallist.length > 0) {
this.$refs.myForm.submit();
}
},
checkFile: function() {
var url = 'http://localhost:9000/CheckIfFileExists?name=' + this.cannedlist;
return fetch(url).then((response) => response.json());
}

Performing action when clicking off an element

The below code allows me to have a click-to-edit header tag within my application.
I'm looking for the best way to handle exiting editing mode when any other action is performed on the page... either a click or a drag-n-drop.
<validator name="teamSetValidation">
<input id='teamSetName' v-if="isEditingName" type="text" v-model="teamSet.name" class="semi-bold p-t-10 p-b-10 m-l-15 edit-header" v-on:keyup.enter="saveTeamSetName()" v-on:keyup.esc="doneEditing()" v-validate:name.required.maxlength="teamSetRules" :isEditingName="true"/>
<h3 v-else class="semi-bold p-t-10 p-b-10 m-l-15" v-on:click="editing()" :isEditingName="false">{{ teamSet.name }} <span class="fa fa-edit"></span></h3>
<div class="text-small">
<span class="text-danger" v-if="$teamSetValidation.teamSet.name.required">A name is required.</span>
<span class="text-danger" v-if="$teamSetValidation.teamSet.name.maxlength">The name you provided is too long.</span>
</div>
<div class="b-grey b-b m-t-10"></div>
</validator>
Javascript:
var vm = new Vue({
el: '#page',
data: {
// When true, user can edit the teamSet name
isEditingName: false,
teamSet: teamSet,
teamSetRules: {
required: false,
maxlength: 64
}
},
methods: {
editTeamSetName: function () {
alert('editing');
},
saveTeamSetName: function () {
if(this.$teamSetValidation.valid) {
this.doneEditing();
var teamSet = this.teamSet,
self = this;
$.ajax({
url: '/team/'+teamSet.id,
type: 'PATCH',
data: {
'name': teamSet.name
},
error: function(res) {
Messenger().post({
message: 'Unable to save changes',
type: 'error',
hideAfter: 3
});
self.editing();
}
});
}
},
editing: function () {
this.isEditingName = true;
Vue.nextTick(function () {
$('#teamSetName').focus();
});
},
doneEditing: function () {
this.isEditingName = false;
}
}
});
Attaching a blur event to the input should do the trick:
<input id='teamSetName' v-if="isEditingName"
type="text" v-model="teamSet.name"
class="semi-bold p-t-10 p-b-10 m-l-15 edit-header"
v-on:keyup.enter="saveTeamSetName()"
v-on:keyup.esc="doneEditing()"
v-validate:name.required.maxlength="teamSetRules"
:isEditingName="true" v-on:blur="doneEditing()"
/>

Loading Remote Data in Select2

I am using Select2's Loading Remote Data Functionality.The problem is that data is not getting loaded on the dropdownlist.On keypress remote function is getting called and data is returning properly,but its not showing in dropdownlist.
HTML
<div class=" form-group col-md-4" data-url="#Url.Action("GetStudentWalkInnName")" id="WalkinnName">
<div>
<label for="txtEmployee" class=" control-label">
Name
</label>
</div>
<div>
<select class="form-control " id="ddlName"></select>
</div>
</div>
Jquery
//REGISTRATION=>INDEX.JS
$(function () {
var ddlNameUrl=$("#WalkinnName").data("url");
$("#ddlName").select2({
placeholder: "Search for Name",
minimumInputLength: 1,
ajax: { // instead of writing the function to execute the request we use Select2's convenient helper
url: ddlNameUrl,
type: "POST",
dataType: 'json',
data: function (params) {
return {
term: params.term, // search term
page: params.page
};
},
processResults: function (data, params) {
params.page = params.page || 1;
return {
results: data,
};
}
}
});
});
Controller is
public JsonResult GetStudentWalkInnName(string term)
{
try
{
var walkInnNameList = _db.StudentWalkInns
.Where(s => s.CandidateName.StartsWith(term))
.Select(x => new
{
Id=x.Id,
Text=x.CandidateName
}).ToList();
return Json(walkInnNameList, JsonRequestBehavior.AllowGet);
}
catch (Exception ex)
{
return Json("", JsonRequestBehavior.AllowGet);
}
}
Any help will be highly appreciated.
According to the documentation, the format if the data should be an array of objects with names id and name i.e. lowercase (not Id and Name).
Change you query to
var walkInnNameList = _db.StudentWalkInns
.Where(s => s.CandidateName.StartsWith(term))
.Select(x => new
{
id = x.Id,
text = x.CandidateName
}); // .ToList() should not be necessary
