With MS Graph API is there a way to search a group calendar and return meeting time even if only one of the group member is available? - api

I have to create a Microsoft Graph API to search a group's calendar. But want to have a meeting with any one person available at that time. What would be the possible way to do that?

You can use either Findmeetingstimes() or GetSchedule() to do so - they will return you the availability info for the users.

Social Tables data model

I've just started looking at the documentation as we are going to need to integrate Salesforce with Social Tables shortly, so I am really new to Social Tables.
Specifically, we will need to sync data between the CRM and Social Tables Events and Guests, and maybe other objects, so it would be very helpful to have a data model or similar to check the relationships and fields available in Social Tables architecture.
I haven't found anything in the documentation, is there any way to get this, even if it's at a high level?

To make an integration with SocialTables you'll have to do a few manual steps, there is no way to do this completely programmatic from my experience. You'll also have to be prepared to contact SocialTables to get get correct guestlist ids. Also keep in mind that the API documentation isn't always correct, the API logic is also quite difficult to understand from time to time.
The first thing you need to do is figure out which version of the Venue Mapper you use. You'd want to use the 4.0 api and as far as I know this version of the api is only supported by Venue Mapper 3.0. I believe the Venue Mapper 3.0 is the frontend tool SocialTables provides to do the venue planning.
In social tables an event has two ids, one numerical one and one alpha-numerical one, when you use the 4.0/events endpoint you only get the alpha-numerical event id, and your going to need the numerical one. The only way I've been able to get the numerical id is to pull it out from the url when using the Venue Mapper, example of the url follows below:

Now you need to get the guestlist id, you can get that by using the following url, using the numerical event id:
GET https://api.socialtables.com/4.0/diagrams?event={numerical_event_id}
This endpoint return a json structure where one of the parameters is "guestlist_id".
Please be aware that the guestlist id you get from this endpoint might not be the correct one. I struggled quite a bit with this part and ended up with SocialTables sending me the guestlist id by email.
To get the guests in your guestlist use the following api endpoint:
GET https://api.socialtables.com/4.0/guestlists/{guestlist_id}
The {guestlist_id} is an alpha-numerical string similar to: cfdac1c0-yb1d-12e6-84a5-a39e92131645
And by that you should hopefully get access to your guests.

To answer your question, the best way to see the data model at the moment is to access our developer portal and use the API console to see what is returned. For events you will need to know the team id of the team you are working with use the team events endpoint to get access to the event ids.

This will return some basic information about each event for that team. You can then request additional details for specific events by using this endpoint:

Microsoft Graph API List Locations

Hi I am having trouble finding any way to list locations so I can create an event and add a location to it.
There is a list of known locations that should be available shouldn't there be?

I'm not sure that listing known locations is available, so we'll need to be creative on this one.
You could get a list of existing calendar events and only select the locations property (what you linked to). If you then filter these client side to remove duplicates, you can get a decent list of known locations. The down side is that if a room is now available but has never been used, it won't appear in this list. Also, this is only for one user so another idea is querying a different (or multiple) calendars. For me, the following snippet returns around 247 unique locations.

There's also some existing threads about listing conference rooms.
So We decided not to use the graph API at all. It is not ready I actually cannot believe this is an oversight on Microsoft's part. Any organization's core problem when it gets to SME size is booking a room. We opted to use the Office 365 SDK,ADAL and Outlook and use a convoluted way to solve the problem that involves either checking the calendar or checking your inbox for the room being booked or not. Then we opted to figure out whether the room was busy or not using the preview availability Api.

I'm using an on-premise installation of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013.
I have an issue about the Cases section.
The Case entity allows users to track issues and work on them through resolution BUT when a user closes a case she cannot see those “resolution” activities in the Accounts activities list.
Can you suggest a solution for this?
The default activities shows a filtered view of Open Activities. If you wanna find your "resolution" activities, you could use the "Closed Activities" view, or, you can always use an advanced find to filter activities whose Activity Type is Case Resolution and Status is Closed, with, optionally, the Regarding being your case, for example.
If what you really want is knowing how a case was resolved, might be good looking at the "Find resolution to similar cases" section here to link resolutions to other cases.

What's the optimal way to filter a set of entities in a lookup?

I've got a lookup field on Account entity called something. Each such Something has a reference to an account. When my users click the magnifying glass, I want them to see a list of available Something records but filtered to view only such instances that link to the currently treated entity.
Also, I'll need to design such a filtration for Contact instances to only show the Something records that are related to the account that the currently regarded contact is a member of.
I can't decide between a plugin on Retrieve and some JS in OnLoad registering a fetchXML. All such operations will be done client-side. The solution needs only to work in CRM13 (and if possible apply some cool functionality in that version).

JavaScript & FetchXml are your best option here as with a Retrieve plugin you're taking the performance hit of executing on every retrieve regardless of whether the entity is being retrieved for the lookup. A filtered lookup in JS only applies for those scenarios that require a change to the field on Account.
Another other good reason for using a filtered lookup in Js is they are now a supported feature in CRM 2013 as opposed to the "hack" that was required in 2011.

Google Analytics retrieve custom variables statistics

New to GA, I'm looking at the way to retrieve automatically custom variables data statistics
The query would have
a start and an end dates (possibly equal)
a variable name
For instance, a Page-level variable Brand takes only three possible values, that are set by the web server, and seen by the client.
The values are Apple, Google and Microsoft.
The query to Google-Analytics could be something like (pseudo-code), provided that I use an authentication token previously acquired
...getstatistics?myToken=123&variable=Brand&datefrom=20110121&dateto=20110121
And the result could be some xml like data
<variable>Brand</variable><value>Apple</value><count>3214</count>
<variable>Brand</variable><value>Google</value><count>4321</count>
<variable>Brand</variable><value>Microsoft</value><count>1345</count>
Meaning for instance that the page-level custom variable Brand was set to the value Apple by the web server (and thus seen by the client / sent to GA) 3214 times.
What is the correct way/protocol to query values/statistics from GA, in order to get statistics related to custom variables?
So, this is my understanding of what you're doing:
You're setting page-level custom variables (important technical note: these need to be called before the _trackPageview or some other call, else they won't be tracked.)
Your code might looks something like this:
_gaq.push(['_setCustomVar', 2, 'Brand', 3]);
Now, when querying the Google Analytics API, its important to note that the slot # is very important, since the slot you're accessing is explicitly named in the query.
So, to do this, you'd need to set your dimensions to ga:customVarName2 and ga:customVarValue2, and decide what metric you're interesting it getting. You mention Page views, so you'd use ga:pageviews. (You're by no means limited to pageviews. You can use any Metric besides a couple of the AdWords specific ones.)
This query would return you all of the custom variable from this slot, and the number of pageviews associated with them.
You also mentioned you'd want to be able to filter by value.
You'd do that by setting the filter value to something like ga:customVarValue2==Apple.

Finally, all Google Analytics API queries by default require you to set a date range, so you could query that on your own.
All you need to do is decide which library you want to use as interface, and you're set to go.
Google has a handy resource, called the Google Analytics Data Explorer that can help answer a lot of your questions by letting you experiment through an interface, as long as you login with your Google Analytics credentials.
As you add parameters using their tools, the system will automatically build your URL/Query.
If that's not enough, Google also has some Interactive Examples using JavaScript. Like the Data Explorer, you can also login with your Google Analytics credentials and run the examples to see what data would be returned.
These tools are awesome because they help take the guesswork out of figuring out how to target the exact data you're searching for.
