I am trying to test an example on Snack.io, but i am experiencing this error:
Has anyboday have this issue before?
I got the same when i try to run this example that was linked to the react-navigation 5 docs. So i changed the expo version to 38 then error gone.

i am trying to create an app that can connect with metamask using walletconnect/react-native-dapp but i get this problem.
What went wrong:
A problem occurred evaluating project ':app'.
Could not find method compile() for arguments [com.facebook.react:react-native:+] on object of type org.gradle.api.internal.artifacts.dsl.dependencies.DefaultDependencyHandler.
for anyone encountering this down the road... Here's the solution.
React native dependencies in node_modules sometimes use outdated syntax such as the error above "compile" when it should be "implementation" depending on your RN version. I'd use the npm package patch-package or stack overflow how to properly modify dependencies (node_modules) to persist once you install another package.
I ran into this same issue with the same "walletconnect" amoung other errors but finally got it running - keep debugging! You got this.
I'm encountering a strange issue, when I use react-native run-android command on the template project which I've created using react-native init I get the following the red error page on the device:
you should open your command line and see what error it gives to you. maybe it was syntax error or problem in your packages.you can use this link
I am trying to compile the master branch of the react-native repo to submit a PR. I am following the docs https://facebook.github.io/react-native/docs/android-building-from-source.html
But doing exactly what do docs says, I get the following error on android:
Requiring unknown module "react/lib/ReactPropTypesSecret
Also running on ios gives similar kind of error:
Unable to resolve module react/lib/ReactPropTypesSecret from /Users/aakash/Projects/TestingPR/node_modules/react-native/Libraries/Utilities/deprecatedPropType.js: Unable to find this module in its module map or any of the node_modules directories under /Users/node_modules/react/lib/ReactPropTypesSecret
This issue occurs when an ReactNative-App based on RN 0.28 or older is upgraded to RN 0.30 or newer without to update also the "react"-package to at least 15.3.0.
Have you tried this?
If this will not solve your issue, you should provide your package.json.
After installing fbsdk on my React-Native app, I got this error:
Use of undeclared identifier 'UIUserInterfaceIdiomTV'
This is in the file Pods > FBSDKCoreKit > FBSDKOrganicDeeplinkHelper.m
I got this even though I helped a friend doing exactly the same than me, and she didn't get it.
I tried to reinstall everything from scratch to check if the error didn't come from me not using the latest versions, but I still got this error.
A quick fix was to simply delete the case from the the switch (device.userInterfaceIdiom), but I hope someone met this error before or has an idea of where it could come from.
Thank you!
I had the same error. You can fix this error by updating Xcode to the last version, currently 7.3.1.

Need some help.
You are using Titanium SDK 3.1.3.GA which does not support Android SDK Tools 22.6, nor does it support 64-bit Java. You should update Titanium SDK to newest version.
I was facing the same problem.
and i tried following solution and that did work.
try to update Node.js to the latest version and that should work.
older version of Node.js was generating this error on my machine. when i updated it to a newer version it worked for me.
for reference you can refer following link

have look into this, may it'll help you.
