I assume this could be some setting issue. When I used something like below, I got no result
where name = 'hello-world-new'
However, if I changed it to below, I got result (because indeed there is data)
where name like 'hello-world%'
Does anyone know where to check/change the setting?

I am using a SQL notebook in Databricks/Spark community edition

The above code cell works fine and retrieves the desired rows from the view.
However the following code cell gives an error.
I am supbstituting the hard-coded value "2YD" in the WHERE clause, with a variable call education_choice that contains the same value.
It seems that I am not using variables correctly in SQL. How would I make this work?

I tried the injection method suggested, but got a slightly different error this time. I included a screen shot of the relevant code cells. It seems that the education_choice "2YD" isn't being recognized as a literal but a field or something like that.
Shouldn't 2YD have quotes around it like "2YD"
If I hard code the WHERE clause like this: WHERE Education = "2YD" the queries works fine.
The image bellow is small but if you right click on it and "open in new tap, it is very readable.

You use the variable education_choice as a hardcoded string. Instead, you should inject the value of education_choice inside the SQL expression string like that.

I am attempting to write a query for an Altiris report. This query is looking for machine information. The query works fine, however the problem I am running into is with my parameters. I have set up multiple parameters within Altiris to allow me to filter and search through the report for multiple fields. Then, in my query, I add those parameters into the WHERE statements.
All of the parameters were working fine, until I added Make and Model parameters. We have quite a few machines that do not have information populated into these fields. So when I add in the WHERE xxxx LIKE N'%Make%', I lose about 500 machines based on it now only looking for machines with something in that field. I tried to fix this by adding lines like the following:
Where ((xxxx LIKE N'%Make%' OR xxxx is null))
This kind of worked, in that now the report shows all machines... But if I enter "HP" into the Make parameter field and then rerun the report... it shows all HP machines like I want, but also all of the null machines as well.
How can I rewrite my where statements so that they do not exclude machines in the report, and allow me to filter by all HP machines, without showing null values as well?

In this snip of code, the last two lines make me lose about 500 machines in my total machine count of the report. It is omitting all machines that have null values.

I'm guess that if you don't enter a value for a parameter, it's coming through as an empty string, and of course, every varchar is LIKE '%%'.
I'm not sure what RDBMS this is, but if the ISNULL function is available, try this:
where ((ISNULL(xxxx,'') LIKE N'%Make%')
This replaces nulls with the empty string before doing the LIKE comparison.
I think you want something like this:
(cs.Manufacturer LIKE N'%#Make%' OR #Make = '') AND
(cs.Model LIKE N'%#Model%' OR #Model = '')
I am using = '' rather than IS NULL because you are clearly not passing in the parameters as NULL values (the LIKE wouldn't work).
This does not provide a method for filtering to get only the NULL values, because you are using the "special value" for the parameter to mean "don't apply a filter here".
Note that cs is intended as a table alias. I also strongly recommend that you use table aliases so your queries are easier to write and to read.
I think you're looking for something like WHERE ISNULL(Model, '') LIKE '%Model%'. However, you should replace '%Model%' with a variable. The above example would literally match the word 'Model'
DECLARE #Model NVARCHAR(100) = 'T-800'
...
WHERE ISNULL(Model, '') LIKE '%' + #Model + '%'
^ This would not include rows with NULL Model values

Because I need to get some inner scripts information. And, in case of simple .EAP project, SQL-query would look like (because of Access db in use):

But, in case of SQL server I need to execute (as you already guessed I bet) slighly different written query:

So, is it possible?

I would just look into Repository.RepositoryType. This will return for Example: JET, MYSQL, or SQLSVR.
I'm executing the following SQL query:
SELECT doc.cmis:description, doc.cmis:name
FROM cmis:document doc
WHERE IN_FOLDER(doc,'folderID')
This result in something like below:
doc.cmis:description = "this is description"
doc.cmis:name = "fileName"
Now, if I add following statements, it returns zero result:
and doc.cmis:description = 'this is description'
However, if I modify and-statement with following, it works:
and doc.cmis:description like '%'
If I add one character (but not two interestingly...) as below, it also works:
and doc.cmis:description like '%t%'
It's very interesting to note that and-statement work very well with doc.cmis:name (as well as other properties).
Does anyone have clue as to why this strange / mysterious behavior is occurring?
The specifications delegate to the implementer if the cmis:description is queryable or not.
Anyway, which Alfresco version are you using ? There was an issue/bug time ago, but this should be solved: The cmis:description field should be queryable, although I don't know if it's fixed in enterprise or community.
By the way, I am currently using Alfresco Community 4.2.f and I have the same problem.
I am trying to query a database to obtain rows that matches 4 conditions.
The code I'm using is the following:

But it is not working; Nevertheless, when I try it using only 3 conditions; ie:
$result = db_query("SELECT * FROM transportesgeneral WHERE CiudadOrigen LIKE '$origen%' AND DepartamentoOrigen LIKE '$origendep' AND DepartamentoDestino LIKE '$destinodep'");
It does work. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Or is it not possible at all?

Apparently this was the problem:
I was trying to query the database by using the word that contained a tittle "Petén" so I changed the database info and replaced that word to the same one without the tittle "Peten" and it worked.
Now, im not sure why it does not accept the tittle but that was the problem.
If you have any ideas on how I can use the tittle, I would appreciate that very much.
