I just installed the latest version of Apache (2.4.43) using brew on Mac OS (10.14.5). (Using instructions from this site.) But after restarting the service, httpd -v still shows 2.4.34 running from the Mac OS default. The same old version is shown when I query apachectl -v.
Thinking that perhaps I needed to update with one more step, I ran brew update httpd but it said that "httpd 2.4.43 already installed."
I'm still pretty new to using brew, and this is my first time creating an Apache server, so any help here would be appreciated. Thanks!
Sorry - easy fix. I neglected to update my .bash_profile to include /usr/local/opt/apache2/bin.
This was clear after I ran which apachectl, and it displayed the default directory for the preinstalled version of Apache - /usr/sbin/apachectl.
I ended up stopping the default version and prevented it from starting again on boot:
sudo launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/org.apache.httpd.plist
Then, started the newly installed version, and it worked fine.

I have installed the Hortonworks sandbox HDP 2.6.5 (docker install).
After having many issues with Ambari "HeartBeat lost" I decided to upgrade Ambari to the latest version, so I cleanly uninstall ambari and then install 2.7.3 following the instructions from:
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/AMBARI/Installation+Guide+for+Ambari+2.7.3
After a long process I managed to complete the installation and start both services successfully: "ambari-server" and "ambari-agent"
Now I am stuck on the install wizard in the fisrt step without getting any error
or any progress. That is, after hitting "Next" it never gets to step 2. (see picture)
screenshot showing the issue
Things done so far to try to work this around:
restarting services (several times)
ambari-server upgrade (once more)
trying with chrome and IE
looking at the log files of ambari-server and ambari-agent
...but without success.
Has anybody come across the same issue?
Any clues?
Thanks for your help!
I have faced the same issue and I have activated the stack as shown below:
sudo sed -i 's|<active>false</active>|<active>true</active>|g' /var/lib/ambari-server/resources/stacks/HDP/2.6/metainfo.xml
sudo sed -i 's|<active>false</active>|<active>true</active>|g' /var/lib/ambari-server/resources/stacks/HDP/2.4/metainfo.xml
cat /var/lib/ambari-server/resources/stacks/HDP/2.6/metainfo.xml
cat /var/lib/ambari-server/resources/stacks/HDP/2.4/metainfo.xml
then I restarted the ambari-server and then it worked.
you have broken stacks for HDP. make sure you fresh build ambari 2.7.3 from source
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/AMBARI/Installation+Guide+for+Ambari+2.7.3
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/AMBARI/Ambari+Development
copy folder and contents inside HDP stacks
/root/ambari-release-2.7.3/ambari-server/src/main/resources/stacks/HDP
ambari-release-2.7.3 is folder result build from source
paste to broken ambari-server
/var/lib/ambari-server/src/main/resources/stacks/
restart ambari server
When I recently installed PHP56 via Homebrew, Apache would no longer start, with this error in the logs:
Cannot load /usr/local/opt/php56/libexec/apache2/libphp5.so into server: dlopen(/usr/local/opt/php56/libexec/apache2/libphp5.so, 10): image not found
Note: I'm running Apache 2.4 on Mac El-Capitan.
How can I resolve this error and get Apache running again?
I've seen this before. If you brew options php56, it says:
With the release of macOS Sierra the Apache module is now not built by default. If you want to build it on your system
you have to install php with the --with-apache option. See brew options php56 for more details.
Thus, try uninstalling (brew uninstall php56) then reinstalling php56 with the flag --with-apache for Apache v2.4.x (--with-apache22 for Apache 2.2). Generally, you can check your Apache version by typing in command line: httpd -v.
My version is 2.4.18, so I would brew install php56 --with-apache, which creates the proper file path /usr/local/opt/php56/libexec/apache2/libphp5.so.
Now, it is properly compiled with Apache Handler module.
IMPORTANT: installing php56 with this option appears to also install httpd24. From a brew program stance, this makes sense. However, this may break your server set up. If you don't want to use brew's Apache install, do a brew unlink httpd24 after this.
To see additional brew build options, try brew options php56.
I want to use a redis browser and I found redis-desktop-manager.
I downloaded a deb file but it requested libicu52.
Frist. How can I install this one in Ubuntu12.04.
Second. I found later that it seems to support Ubuntu version 14+.
Would I run this on 12.04 version?
For the dependency of libicu52 Redis Desktop fail to install. You can follow bellow step:
Step 1: To download the libicu52 file. Run the command in the terminal:
wget http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/i/icu/libicu52_52.1-8ubuntu0.2_amd64.deb
Step 2: Install libicu52 by executing this command:
dpkg -i libicu52_52.1-8ubuntu0.2_amd64.deb
Now, Attempt once again to install redis-desktop-manager client from debian file, I believe now everything is fine ;)
FYI, redis-desktop-manager installs and runs perfectly on my 15.10 systems.
You can probably compile redis-desktop-manager from source on your system, using the libicu* version that comes with 12.04. I would also consider upgrading: 12.04 is no longer supported, has been replaced as an LTS by 14.04 and it generally far behind.
FWIW redis-desktop-manager installs and runs fine on my 15.04 and 15.10 systems.
I am newbie in vps. I installed centos 6.5 64bit. one hour ago and installed Apache, php, mysql successfully. now I have to install phpmyadmin. It requires something called LAMP. I don't know if LAMP is already installed by default with centos or I have to manually install it. What is the ssh command to check it if LAMP installed or just answer yes or no.
UPDATE:
[understood]
That blogger confused me by separating LAMP with comma.
If LAMP was correctly installed, i.e., PATH is already set for php, mysql and apache2, then run following commands from terminal:-
php -v // Return PHP version
apache2 -v // Returns apache version
mysql --version // Returns mysql version
if all of the above command returns their respective versions, then it means LAMP is installed.
BUT if it doesn't then there might be two cases:-
1) LAMP might be installed but is not added to path.
2) LAMP is not installed, Install it.
As for the first case, if it is installed but not runnable from terminal, then just run following commands to see where LAMP components are installed:-
1) Find file with name "apache2" in your pc. It will return list of path where a file name called "apache2" exists. You can then cross examine it further.
sudo find / -name apache2
2) Run the above same command to find file "mysql" and follow the same procedure further.
sudo find / -name mysql
3) For PHP:-
sudo find / -name php
LAMP stands for Linux, apache, Mysql, PHP, if you've installed apache, mysql and PHP correctly on a linux system you have LAMP already set up.
If you want to check whether the above mentioned dependecies are installed or not
To check whether php is installed or not
php5 -v
For Apchae
/usr/sbin/apache2 -V
If any of the mentioned dependencies are not install and you want to install the LAMP use the following command,
sudo apt-get install lamp-server^
I'm trying to connect to SQL Server on Ubuntu 9.04 using Ruby. I translated and followed all the steps outlined in getting OSX talking to SQL Server from here:
http://toolmantim.com/articles/getting_rails_talking_to_sqlserver_on_osx_via_odbc
Everything is working on the FreeTDS and unixODBC end. I can see and query the database using tsql.
When I try to access the database from Ruby using IRB I get the following error:
DBI::DatabaseError : INTERN (0) [RubyODBC] Cannot allocate SQLHENV
Has anyone run into this and what can I do to solve this?
I started getting this error when I upgraded to Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala). Your tip regarding installation order of the Ubuntu packages didn't work for me.
It seems the fix was to manually compile ruby-odbc.
wget http://www.ch-werner.de/rubyodbc/ruby-odbc-0.9997.tar.gz
tar xzvf ruby-odbc-0.9997.tar.gz
cd ruby-odbc-0.9997
ruby extconf.rb --with-dlopen
make
sudo make install
System
Ubuntu 9.10 64 bit
I had to specify the odbc directory in the rubyodbc install
wget http://www.ch-werner.de/rubyodbc/ruby-odbc-0.9997.tar.gz
tar xzvf ruby-odbc-0.9997.tar.gz
cd ruby-odbc-0.9997
ruby extconf.rb --with-odbc-dir=/usr/lib/odbc --disable-dlopen
make
sudo make install
I had the same problem.
But on Centos 5.5 not Ubuntu
Tried many forums/solutions with no joy.
The error message hints at a missing reference to unixODBC.
Which was setting using LD_LIBRARY_PATH variable.
Found another way to set path, by creating
/etc/ld.so.conf.d/odbc.conf.
add unixODBC location to file ie /usr/local/lib.
Run, sudo ldconfig.
Go fig that I actually got this working after submitting my question. What I ended up doing was uninstall libdbd-odbc-ruby and libdbi-ruby and then reinstalling them by installing libdbi-ruby first and then installing libdbd-odbc-ruby. I guess when I installed them before, something must of messed up.
BTW, following the instructions to recompile Ruby-ODBC on Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic) required installation of either the libiodbc2-dev or the unixodbc-dev package. When using libiodbc2-dev, I got segmentation faults when my Ruby program tried:
connection.select_all('select top 15 * from log_device_healths')
..but no problem when using unixodbc-dev instead.
Tim Morgan's solution didn't work for me. However I was able to get things working by installing an older version of libodbc-ruby (0.9995) from here:
http://mirrors.kernel.org/ubuntu/pool/universe/libo/libodbc-ruby/libodbc-ruby1.8_0.9995-1_i386.deb
Additional details are available from Carsten Gehling's blog:
http://gehling.dk/2010/02/the-woes-of-libodbc-ruby1-8-and-debian-ubuntu/
Be careful though -- Ubuntu's Update Manager will happily "upgrade" this version of libodbc-ruby to the broken 0.9997-2. I accidentally overwrote the older version this way only to end up back here, trying to figure out how I fixed it last time.
Well, it seems my other answer stopped working for me. This thread helped me to solve the issue in another way, and I wanted to share it here.
sudo gem uninstall ruby-odbc
sudo rm /usr/local/lib/site_ruby/1.8/x86_64-linux/odbc.so
cd /tmp
wget http://mirrors.kernel.org/ubuntu/pool/universe/libo/libodbc-ruby/libodbc-ruby1.8_0.9995-1_amd64.deb
sudo dpkg -i libodbc-ruby1.8_0.9995-1_amd64.deb
If you're not on a 64-bit platform, you'll need to download a different Debian package.
Basically, what solves the problem is installing version 0.9995 of the ruby-odbc Ubuntu package.
