Sending PageUp key to Reflections session? - vba

I am creating a macro in VBA to automate a process in a Reflections 3270 environment.
This is not usually an issue, because
MyScreen.SendKeys "<ENTER>"
works fine, and 99% of the time in our system, enter is used.
However, I can't seem to find the key code for Page Up. I'd like to avoid remapping the user's keys if possible.
I have tried
"<PageUp>"
"<RollDown>" 'these two were listed on some documentation I found through google
"<RollUp>" '******************
"<PFPageUp>"
Can't think of or find anything else.

Solution moved from #Marx's question post.
Found the answer. Hopefully this will help someone in the future.
MyScreen.SendKeys "<PA1>"

MSCOMCTLocx registering but still showing as 'Missing'

I am using VBA hosted in a drafting program called MicroStation. I have been using MSCOMCTL for the last few years to use controls such as Tab Views and ListViews. I have come back from a work trip and found my home PC to have a Windows Updated and im assuming that its broken it as i have found many articles relating to similar problems.
MSCOMCTL will register and says it has succeed, but still shows as missing in the VBA IDE. Usually i can just use the regsvr32 command and it will work no problems.
I have researched alot and have found a heap of solutions, but none work for me. The main one seems to be to run.
regsvr32 c:\windows\syswow64\regtlib.ocx
But i cant find regtlib.ocx on my Windows 10 - 64 Bit PC.
With this VBA Program, the company where it is deployed is very restricted on what the users can do so im hoping to find an alternative to MSCOMCTL but still within VBA that i can somehow package / compile within my VBA file and doesnt need to be installed onto the PC. Either that or a solution to get the file working. I have been reading article after article and trying a heap of things over the past few days but nothing has worked. It seems at the moment that my best option is to redesign the forms without the Tab Control and List Views. But i find this crazy as they are microsoft files.
Thanks in advance!
So far i have tried the below (plus a couple more escape me at this time)
*Replacing MSCOMCTL.ocx with a downloaded version (backed up the original just in case)
*Replacing MSCOMCTL.ocx with a version installed with Office 2013, located under the program files x86/office/root etc.
*Registering MSCOMCTL in safemode to ensure it wasn't in use.
*Searching the C drive for regtlib.ocx as that has been known to fix it.
*I did find an alternative, but requires various files to be installed onto the PC which wouldn't work in this case with the company's restrictions
*I know this is not a new issue, but most of the posts are a few years old and their solutions (usually re-registering the file) have not worked for me.
Thanks everyone. Problem has been solved. It was a combination of a couple of things based on dbmitch's answer.
By unchecking the missing control, closing down the host program and rebooting. Then opening up the VBA file and searching for the "Microsoft Common Controls" and selecting it. Even though the text was the exact same as the "Missing" one it seems to have done the trick.
I did do that step, but didn't close down the program and start again in between.
Thanks for your help guys!

Excel VBA App stops spontaneously with message “Code execution has been halted”

I have exactly the problem described here:
From what I can see on the web, this is a fairly common complaint, but answers seem to be rarer. The problem is this:
We have a number of Excel VBA apps which work perfectly on a number of users' machines. However on one machine they stop on certain lines of code. It is always the same lines, but those lines seem to have nothing in common with one another.
If you press F5 (run) after the halt, the app continues, so it's almost like a break point has been added. We've tried selecting 'remove all breaks' from the menu and even adding a break and removing it again.
We've had this issue with single apps before and we've 'bodged' it by cutting code out of modules, compiling and then pasting it back in etc.
The problem now seems to relate to Excel itself rather than a single .xls, so we're a little unsure how to manage this.
I have managed to resolve it with the accepted answer, but now, when I send the VBA file to my colleagues, they have the same problem.
My question and my problem is - any ideas what to do, as far as it is really not a good idea to go to everyone and to debug every time. And I somehow do not want to add Application.EnableCancelKey = xlDisabled to my macros.
Sounds like a ghost break. File saved one time with a break in there. What has worked for me in the past was to remove any breaks you see and manually step through the code (F8) through completion and then save file. Prob now necessay to step all the way through but I like to know I went all the way and didn't miss any.

Reference not found after switching from Debug to Release mode

I have a problem with several references in my VB.NET project.
For example I have this line of code:
Dim m As New Chilkat.Email
It comes from the library "ChilkatDotNet45.dll".
When I click on "References" and locate this dll, I can see that it has the settings "Use local copy" and "Do not include interop types".
When I switch to Release mode, the compiler tells me that "Chilkat.EMail" is not defined.
I have this problem with several DLLs, so it is not specific to Chilkat.
Can somebody tell me what I did wrong?
Thank you.
One of the standard approaches to solving any programming-related issue is trying to reduce the scope of the investigation. If you have a big project, in which something doesn't work, try to create a smaller project, and try to replicate desired functionality in it. Reduce as much as possible, down to a brand new project with maybe 5-10 lines of code in it.
If you were unable to solve your problem after making a reduced test case, now it's good time to post it on StackOverflow. I am usually reducing problems while writing a question on SO (not before, as one might think), constantly thinking "ok, is it minimized enough"; and this is how 90% of the questions never get posted - I often find a solution along the way of reducing my question to bare bones. :)
In your case, can you build a simplified project which has this problem and post a link here? We could then try switching Debug to Release on our machines and see if the we can reproduce. There are too many options to do the guesswork.

custom error pages for IBM Domino iNotes

we're currently customizing iNotes for a customer (platform currently is Domino 9). We almost reached our goals, but one thing that's on our todo list I can't really figure out: they want us to also customize any possible error pages; see the following example screenshot:
This and other similar pages seem to come from the central Forms9.nsf which I'd love to leave as it is. We so far tried domcfg.nsf mappings, but as this is an iNotes internal error it obviously can't work; I also tried to figure out a way to put seomething into our customized Forms9_x.nsf but without any hint this is too abstract for me.
So my questions are:
has anyone ever done this?
what options do we have (apart from "hacking" Forms9.nsf)?
Many thanks in advance...
Update:
After continuing to play with domcfg mappings I suddenly saw a first result; not sure what's the difference to the first attempts, though; maybe moving the error form to Forms9_x.nsf did the trick? I'll keep investigating and post an answer if I can find one...
Alright, this has been an afternoon of wild guessing and hacking along, but finally I think I found it:
first of all, my playing around with domcfg mappings didn't have to do with solving the problem; instead, I just by chance had put my error page form into my Forms9_x.nsf and named it $$ReturnGeneralError (that's simply the name used in Forms9.nsf...; I completely had forgotton about those 4 pre-defined form names back from Domino 5 times).
What did not work was the old method of simply including a text file named MessageString to display the exact error message returned from the server; obviously iNotes is handling those error strings differently.
After a few hours of testing, and comparing codes between the standard iNotes error page and mine I finally found it: include some iNotes specific computed text into the page, in my case that is
#{{MessageString}; html}
See this document for some details (last row in the table)
Hopefully this can help someone else as well...

SharePoint SPWeb.GetList seems to cause infinite loop?

So, I'm working on a SharePoint 2010 site that I developed, and I am trying to implement content type change propogation. During this process I seem to have found a strange bug. It seems my combination of calling methods in the SharePoint object model causes an infinite loop. You can see the code here (a little too large to post directly here I think): http://pastebin.com/U0qbLxpS. The key line there is on line 13. Leaving that line commented out results in an infinite loop of sub sites (starting at the first one). If I uncomment that line though, things seem to work fine. Does anyone have any experience with this bug or have any advice? Can anyone duplicate this issue for me? I was trying to use SPWeb.GetList("blah") instead of using SPWeb.List["blah"] directly as GetList is the recommended way to get access to a list (according to everything I have read). But this bug is a bit odd and is going to force me to leave a completely unrelated line of code in there (which leaves me feeling a bit strange).
My test site structure is this: http://localhost (main site) and http://localhost/ASubSite. The infinite loop happens on http://localhost/ASubSite and just keeps appending /ASubSite to the end and continuing the loop.
Thanks for any hope you can offer. If anyone can duplicate this, it would be great. Then maybe I can submit a bug to Microsoft about this. Otherwise, maybe this is just some strange combination of things I am doing combined with my site.
