I am really struck and trying to find a way to remove all unused methods in Angular project
Basically I am restructuring the whole project and changing logic to accommodate the new structure. Above is the example screenshot.
Upon hitting Alt + Enter > I did not find anything to remove all unused methods at a go.
Tried the code -> code cleanup. But no luck

There is currently no way to do this (likely because such quick fix would be rather unsafe, because not all methods that are not called explicitly in your code are actually unused - like different lifecycle hooks). Wrote a plugin to handle some custom format stuff in yaml files that I've written for a huge project. It's a chat bot that can respond in a huge number of ways. There is a lot of slang and non-standard words in the yaml.
I don't want to disable spellchecking as I want to fix legitimate speeling errors. But the annotations under the "misspelled" slang words are conflicting with the annotations in my plugin, and causing issue.
One yaml file has 349 "typos". 10% or so are legit. The rest are slang and custom words.
I need to do one of two things. Either add those words to the dictionary (I've found the method to do that - SpellCheckManager.getInstance(project).acceptWordAsCorrect()) OR get a list of the words and create a custom dictionary from them. Both approaches require me to grab a list of all typos in the document/editor/project.
That's the part I can't find. Looked everywhere. (List of current Annotations? List of current Problems?) Googled my fingers off. Anyone able to point me in the right direction?
This is not the IDEAL solution, but it worked for my means, and I'm leaving the answer in case this is googled.
In DaemonCodeAnalyzerImpl, there is a method:
DaemonCodeAnalyzerImpl.getHighlights(Document document, HighlightSeverity minSeverity, Project project);
This returns a list of all highlights in the document. The method is Annotated with #TestOnly, and docs state that it should only be used in Test code because it breaks/shortcuts the normal way to access that. It still works in non-test code however.
Since the only thing I wanted was the strings of the typos, I pulled the list, then looped through the HighlightInfo's in the list, and pulled the .getText()s.
No danger of screwing anything up.
Then pushed all those strings into:
SpellCheckerManager.getInstance(project).acceptWordAsCorrect(word, project);
Viola! All current highlighted typos are now added to the dictionary.
Proper solution? No. Good enough for what I needed to accomplish? Yup.
I've run into this problem several times when trying to import external libraries to run with a Power BI custom visual, and I'm not really sure what I'm doing wrong. This current attempt is recreating the Card Visual in the latest API, and it's been a painstaking effort that hopefully someone else can help me out with. I can't point at any one reason why this is happening though it appears to be caused by using statements like:
import valueFormatter = powerbi.extensibility.utils.formatting.valueFormatter;
and I get error, in the browser:
Unable to get property 'valueFormatter' of undefined or null reference

when I tried removing these things I instead run into the error:
HTTP404: NOT FOUND - The server has not found anything matching the requested URI (Uniform Resource Identifier).

I can't really resolve either of these errors, to make the project work. The project will build fine and display in the application, but not show any information. Something isn't setup with the API or the project where it just doesn't put the pieces together properly or something. I really don't know and there's so little information out there about this thing, that it's kind of like shouting in the dark at this point.

If anyone figures this out, it would be a huge help to me, though I will continue to do my own research and if I find anything about it I will update the information here.
I figured out what was happening here, I had included the index.d.ts files in the tsconfig.json file, but forgot to include the index.js files in the pbiviz.json file and in some cases forgot to include the css files in the .less file.
I am new to writing intellij plugins, so I apologize in advance if my question might be a bit unclear.
I know that (live) code inspections are achieved via Annotators or LocalInspectionTools. I also know there is an API to write a custom Annotator or Inspection tool and I have seen several examples.
What I do not know (my question): is there a manager/helper/"global inspector" that can provide me with the results of an existing code annotator/inspection process (done by the IDE's plugins or by some 3rd party plugin)?
For instance: I do not want to write a custom Lint annotator/inspection plugin for WebStorm. One can configure JSLint/JSHint inside WebStorm settings. The results of the live inspection can be seen over the current file/current open editor.
I would like to get the results of this live inspection, that occurs in the current open editor (inside my own custom code). For this I am interested in the API to get this annotator/inspector and/or the results it provides.
(I apologize for maybe using annotator and inspection terms in a confusing manner)
If there is another question (which I could not find) that duplicates what I have asked above, please re-direct me.

Unfortunately regular annotating process for the linters is asynchronous so you cannot get the annotation results directly (by calling 'Manager' method).
You can create instances of JSLintInspection, JSHintInspection, etc. and call #createVisitor().visit(File) method but the operation is very slow and you must call it outside of AWT thread.
Also you can try to run the method com.intellij.codeInsight.daemon.impl.DaemonCodeAnalyzerEx#processHighlights but as I mentioned above the annotation results for linters can be not available (or outdated)
The project I'm working on requires me to adapt the size of the elements on screen according to per-user setting. We're using Twitter bootstrap, so my first idea was to toy with the #basefont value, and it seems to do the trick.
However, I don't know how to access the user setting from the .less file. I tried using erb with .less.erb, but it looks like I don't have access to any code in my application.
Is there a way to get the value I'm looking for from the .less file, or - even better - a proper way to do this ?

Since I need to get the value at runtime, the way I tried won't work anyway, though I'm still interested on an answer. The only way I see to do what I want is to add a class according to the user setting. Again, I'd be glad to have alternatives.
I opted for css3 transform (and vendors implementation) property. It does the job, but seems to hit the GPU quite a lot. So still open to other answers. :)
I have an old VW3/ENVY image with a parcel loaded as unmanaged code (exactly the situation Mastering ENVY/DEVELOPER warns against). Unfortunately, this problem happened a long time ago and it's too late to just "go back" to an image without the parcel loaded.
Apparently, there is a way to solve this problem (we have one development image where this has been solved, and there are normal configuration maps that contain the exact same code as the unmanaged parcel but they can't be loaded), but the exact way has long since been forgotten (and there are some problems with taking that particular dev image as the base for a new runtime image, so I need to find out how how to do it again).
In theory, it should be possible to remove the parcel and reload the code from a configuration map. In practice, all normal ways (using the ParcelBrowser or directly calling UnmanagedCode>>remove) fail. I even tried manually removing the offending selectors from the method dictionary, but past a certain point (involving a call to #primBecome:) the whole image hangs completely (I can't even drop into the debugger). I started hacking the instances of the classes and methods, hoping I'd trick ENVY into thinking that these particular methods are normal versioned code, but without any success yet.
Are there any smalltalk/envy gurus around that still remember enough of VW 3 to provide me with any pointers?
Status update
After a week of trying to solve the problem I finally made it, at least partially, so in case anyone's interested...
First, I had to fix file pointers for the umnanaged code (otherwise, all everything that tried to touch the methods would throw an exception). It looks like ENVY extends Parcel so that, in theory, all integer file pointers are changed to ENVY's void filepointer when loaded, but in my case, I had to do it manually (a Parcel provides enumeration for all selectors it defines). Another way would be to tweak the filePointer code, but that can't easily be done automatically on every image where it's needed.
Then, the parcel can be discarded, which drops the parcel information, but keeps the code. The official "Discard" mechanism needs to have a valid changes file (which envy doesn't use so it has to be set manually, and reset afterwards) and the parcel source (which we fortunately had).
To be able to make any changes to the methods (either manually, or via loading an application or class from ENVY), they need to get rid of their unmanaged status. This can be done by manually tweaking TheClass>>applicationAssocs (I also got rid of all references to the classes in UnmanagedCode sich as timestamps, and removed the reference to the discarded parcel). I actually had some info on how to get to this point from my boss, but I haven't been able to understand the instructions until I almost figured it out by myself.
This finally allowed me to load and reload all the Applications that contained the classes. In theory. In practice, the image still hung completely whenever I tried to load a newer version of the Application (that contained the code formerly in the parcel).
It turned out that the crashes had absolutely nothing to do with the code being unmanaged, but with the fact that the parcel in question modified InputState>>process:, where it caused an exception due to a missing and/or uninitialized class variable (the InputState>>initialize method wasn't called until after the new process: method was in place). I had to modify the Notifier class to dump all exceptions to a file to find out what was going on. Adding the class variable to the source of the class (instead of adding it via reflection), suspending the input processing thread via toBeLoadedCode and starting it again in the loaded method and creating a new version of the application solved even this problem.
Now everything works, in theory. In practice it's still unusable, because reloading the WindowSystem or VisualworksBase applications causes their initialization blocks to run, and a whole lot of settings are reset to their defaults - fonts and font sizes, window colors, UI settings... And there doesn't seem to be any way to just save the settings to a file and load them later on, or just to see what all the settings are (either the official Settings menu doesn't show everything, or we have a heavily tweaked image... so much for reconstructing it from scratch). But that's a completely different question.
Well, normally the recommendation would be that you should be able to rebuild your development image from scratch by loading your code from the repository. But if you had that, then the answer would be simple, just discard that image and reload. I think it's been long enough that I've lost whatever knowledge I've had about how to mess with the internal structures to get it back, and it sounds like you've tried a lot of things. So, although it might be painful, figuring out the recipe to rebuild your development image by loading stuff from the repository sounds like it may be your best bet. It probably isn't all that horrible, there just might be a few dependencies on the image state, or special doits that need to be executed.
You also probably need to validate what's in the repository against what's in the image you're working from. If there was unmanaged code loaded and then someone modified it and saved it, it's not clear to me that it would have been saved to ENVY. So you probably want to audit everything that was unmanaged code and if it's been changed, save that to a repository edition.
Sorry I don't have any better answers.
