Why doesn't my Intellij Ultimate detect virtualenv? - intellij-idea

I've opened a Python project from IntelliJ Utlimate 2019.2.5 after using Pycharm.
I've the IDEA to a newly created virtualenv project SDK under <root>/.virtualenv directory, however, I cannot run pip install on the requirements using the terminal because virtualenv is not working, and I'm using my global python installation.
Opening the same project back in Pycharm brings it back to life again.
Is there a specific configuration I've missed (though I doubt that because there are only these instructions).

It's not possible at the moment in IntelliJ IDEA.

Intellij 2017 Gradle integration

I am currently using Intellij IDEA 2017.1.5 for my projects. I have installed Gradle 3.3 (I was advised to use this version, since more recent ones would not work with the project I was working on).
However, whenever I try to import a build.gradle file, it doesn't allow it and give an error message - "Cannot import anything from [build.gradle path]". Furthermore, I am also unable to create a Gradle project, since that option does not appear on the side panel when I click -"Create New Project". However, I have options to create Groovy projects (I believe that is somehow related to Gradle).
I've also tried to install more recent versions of Gradle, without success. I know I've installed gradle correctly since I'm able to check its version using "gradle -v" on the cmd.
I am fairly recent to Gradle, and any help would be welcomed.

How to upgrade Intellij to 2017 on Linux?

I want to upgrade Intellij from 2016.3 to 2017.1. This is a major upgrade, so it is not doable simply by clicking "Upgrade", I have to download a whole new tar.gz. The problem is that I don't want to do a fresh installation, because I have some plugins and configuration I would rather not loose. How can I do it?
Install as you normally do for the new version (unpack into the new empty directory, then run via bin/idea.sh), it will suggest to import the settings from the previous version the first time you start it.
To automate updates you may consider using JetBrains Toolbox App.

Where to find groovy library on intellij(mac) when installed groovy through sdkman

I installed groovy through sdkman on mac. When i try to create a new groovy project in intellij, it asks for groovy library location. Where can i find the installed groovy?
I ran into similar issue. By using
/Users/<username/.sdkman/candidates/groovy/current
or
/Users/<username/.sdkman/candidates/groovy/<version>
worked for me.
Adding the answer that solved my problem (thanks to ThomasW comment)
When dialog box is opened you can click CMDSHIFT.
and this allows you to pick the hidden folder in the open dialog box.
Then you can use:
/Users/<username>/.sdkman/candidates/groovy/current
Just run $ which groovy after have it installed.
You may not be able to find groovy path with which command.
After installation of sdkman on linux-like systems Mac OSX, Linux, Cygwin, Solaris and FreeBSD, First, run $ source "$HOME/.sdkman/bin/sdkman-init.sh", then you will be able to access the installed development kits.
Namely, if you type 'which groovy' it should show the path, and you can invoke other SDK commands.

Can't install practically macro on eclipse

I can't install practically macro on eclipse.`
Error:
Communication with repository at
http://puremvcnotificationviewer.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/PracticallyMacroGoogleUpdateSite
failed.
Read Timeout
Tried to install from here https://marketplace.eclipse.org/content/practically-macro-0 dragging and dropping
And tried to install it from eclipse marketplace, both said the same thing.
I have eclipse luna 4.4.1.
I want to be able to do key shortcut for run cofiguration. Apperently i need this plug-in but can't install it.
Go to https://sourceforge.net/projects/practicalmacro/?source=typ_redirect and download PracticallyMacro_x.x.x.jar.
Then create a directory "PracticallyMarco" inside the eclipse/plugins directory.
Extract all files from PracticallyMacro_x.x.x.jar into eclipse/plugins/PracticallyMarco.
Restart eclipse. (Maybe you should restart eclipse with the -clean option.)
Then you can use the PracticallyMacro from the main toolbar:
See also the file eclipse/plugins/PracticallyMarco/Instructions.txt for more details.
There is a GitHub fork that seems to work:
https://github.com/EmteZogaf/practicalmacro-site/
If you browse the repo you can find the following update site:
https://github.com/EmteZogaf/practicalmacro-site/raw/master
I tested it on latest eclipse PHOTON and it seems to work.

Cannot run netbeans IDE After Adding python plug in

I added this plug in to my netbeans 7.2 IDE. Then, when I restarted the program and tried to open it again it did not open
as shown in this picture
I tried to restore my Windows system to previous restore point but the problem still exist.
any ideas how to solve this problem
I've tested the repository that they advised you to adding in the your Netbeans install.
But really has reference to many more plugins and features installed,
if you add this repository after upgrade the NetBeansIDE you will see that all base modules will have replaced by the development release and practically you will have another version of netbeans installed.
I advise you to uninstall your current netbeans without deleting your workspace and reinstall your netbeans downloaded directly from the official website.
And also I would advise you in the future should try the unofficial plugin in a test environment. before bringing in your work
