Adding datatables from dynamic tabs into an arraylist - vb.net

There are three tabs on the design of my page. In the third tab, there are dynamic tabs that are created. The number of tabs are based on the number of rows from the input file (which is in the first tab, for this case I will use two rows == two (dynamic) tabs in the third tab).
This means there are two tables, one table (let's call it Table A) in the first dynamic tab and another table (let's call it Table B) in the second dynamic tab.
I am trying to add Tables A and B into an arraylist.
Currently I have the code;
For each page in Tabs.Tabpages
Dim dataTableToCopy as New DataTable
dataTableToCopy = dynamicDataTable.copy
arraylistToHoldTables.add(dataTableToCopy)
The issue with this is that it only copies the last data table, in this case Table B.
I have tried another method, in which involved merging the datatables.
For each page in Tabs.Tabpages
Dim dataTableToCopy as New DataTable
dataTableToCopy = dynamicDataTable.copy
mergedDataTable.Merge(dataTableToCopy)
arraylistToHoldTables.add(dataTableToCopy)
The problem with this method is that, although I am able to retrieve all values, the main task was to add each table into the arraylist.
I was thinking of possibly splitting the merged datatable, but was unsure the method to take from there.
Split at row 100, since each table has 100 rows

The solution was to access each datatable from each tab was to iterate through the Controls of each tab
so in each tab, create a datagridview of the one in that tab and add that to the list.

vb.net create tabpages and datagridview from list exported from SQL

Just after some ideas on the best way to create additional tabpages dynamically within a tabcontrol and also to then add the relevant data on each tab with a datagridview.
The tabcontrol will always exist, but I'm not sure whether to initially create the additional tabpages first by identifying the distinct data in SQL, and then run a further script to extract the data, which then needs to be added to the datagridview, or whether I can use vb.net to create the distinct tabpages and add the data from one table, as below.
I can add another tabpage dynamically but not sure the best way to do it for a list, that is extracted from SQL.
Hope that makes sense. Thanks
TabCode
TabName
DataName
DataType
1
One
Test Name
Text
1
One
Test Date
Date
2
Two
Test Value
Value
I've managed to create new tabpages, but only single instances as not sure how to create them from a list extracted from SQL. I'm then struggling to add the data to the relevant datagridview, which I envisage would be created with a name linked to the tabpage name.

One page selection in DataTable PrimeVue

I use DataTable with a paginator. I have a Column with multiple selection mode. I want this column to select only one page rows instead of all table data. Is it possible in PrimeVue?
I have over 10k rows in a table and this number will always change, therefore I can't use a lazy datatable. I need to select all rows but it's not possible with such a large amount of data, instead I need to select just one page view, just like in Gmail when selecting the e-mails.

Winforms UltraGrid Infragistics grouping by two columns

I’m working on a WinForms vb.net app where you can see a Grid like the one shown in the picture attached and what I need to do is to group by the first two columns (“Grupo” and “Area”).
As you can see in the picture my SQL select statement returns many same “Grupo” and “Area” with different “identificacion” (the last visible column) and the way I would need to present it is more or less the same you can currently see in the picture but with something like for example a + sign at a side which when you press it expands and shows all the complete list of rows and columns (ungrouped) but one row for every different “identificacion”.
I’ve managed to do an approach with SortedColums with the next:
ulgListaSel.DisplayLayout.ViewStyleBand = Infragistics.Win.UltraWinGrid.ViewStyleBand.OutlookGroupBy
Dim band As UltraGridBand = ulgListaSel.DisplayLayout.Bands(0)
Dim sortedColumns As SortedColumnsCollection = band.SortedColumns
sortedColumns.Add("c_area", False, True)
sortedColumns.Add("c_grupo", False, True)
but data is not being displayed the way I’m looking for.
What I get with the code below is shown in figure 2 but you will see that only "Area" colum is shown before expanding and as a default I need all columns with same value to be shown (everythings except "identificacion").
By the way, I’m using UltraGrid v14.2
Thanks in advance.
If I follow you here correctly, you would like to have a group for each row, because the only differences are in the "identificacion" column values? Or you would like to see all the values in the groupByRow, except the "identification", and having only one group?
In the second case you would end up with only one group having the all of the column values there.
In both cases you could create and add a new unbound column in the InitializeLayout event of your UltraGrid, using the root band (0) columns collection, afterwards in the IntializeRow event populate the values of that new column based on your requirements, either using the values of all of the cells (to end up with the same number of groups as the number of differences in the "identificacion" column), or concatenating the values of all of the columns, without the ones in "identificacion", which would end up with a single group only at end.
Also once you do that, you would have to use again the InitializeLayout event of your UltraGrid, and Group by the UltraGrid, by the newly populated Unbound column, by adding it to Sorted Columns, using the same approach that was used for adding the other columns there.

Create DataTable child row without showing it?

I am using datatable (v1.10.2 with jquery 1.9.2) because I like the out-of-the-box features (searching/sorting etc). However, now I want the ability to:
1) use animations (sliding) when showing/hiding a row
2) have the hidden row available in the DOM to change (ie, it would exist but have a display:none).
My current code to create the table looks like the following (where formatChild() returns html for a table):
if (row.child.isShown()){
row.child.hide();
tr.removeClass('shown');
} else {
row = row.child(formatChild());
row.show();
tr.addClass('shown');
}
I am using several services to change data in the child row's table via ajax and want to be able to change that data even when the row is hidden. I know I can create a map in memory and use the information in the stored map when I show the child row, but to me it is much cleaner to change the hidden row immediately.
I was hoping I could do a row()child(), modify the row, then call row()child().show() but the row isn't created in the DOM after the row.child().
Regarding the animation, I found an answer here but it involves changing the datatables code :(
I considered just using jquery to add a row to the datatable and hide it, but I couldn't find a good way to "attach" it to the primary row for sorting.
The plan I am currently leaning towards is to add a div to my primary table row that I will show/hide/update rather than using child rows at all.
What is the best practice for managing these hidden areas in a datatable (and showing them with animation)? ty
In case anyone else has the same question, I ended up using a DIV in the row rather than using DataTables' child row. When I add a new row to the datatable, the div is hidden then I hide and show (slideup/slidedown) on a click event. This gives me the nice animations, keeps the sorting simple, and let's me change information in the hidden row. Interestingly, the DIV contains a table and the text that is in that table when I create the new row is searchable; however, the text in the table that my ajax call adds/modifies is not searchable. I'm looking into how I want that to work (and may keep the div out of the search altogether if possible).

binding textboxes to a table

I have two tables that are related to each other in a 1-1 relationship (each row in the main table has exactly one corresponding row in the second table).
I also have a winform in which I'd like to show the main table in a datagridview, and for each row selected in the grid to show the fields of the corresponding row of the second table in various textboxes below the grid.
I know how to bind a datagridview to a datatable. But I'm not sure about binding several textboxes to a single row in the related datatable. I don't know what is the best way to implement it.
I'm writing in VB.Net (but can read some code in C#), using VS2008.
Any help, hints or ideas will be welcomed. Thanks.
Best way to do it is that instead of using two tables, use a join and get result in a single table, bind that table to gridview, and hide columns which you don't want to display to user.
And then use cell click event of gridview and then get the index of selected row and then use
txtBoxName.Text = GridViewName["col_name",e.RowIndex].Value.ToString();
