I have the following code:
OPEN CURSOR WITH HOLD dbcur FOR
SELECT (it_attr)
FROM (it_from)
FOR ALL ENTRIES IN lt_filter_key
WHERE (it_where).
...
FETCH NEXT CURSOR dbcur INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE ct_data_p PACKAGE SIZE iv_packsize.
When I test with parameter A, the correct data is displayed.
When I make the same test with parameter B, no data is displayed. (which is incorrect)
I have debugged the report, copied the values from (it_attr), (it_from), lt_filter_key and (it_where) and created my own SELECT with these values (from parameter B report execution).
In this case, data is found.
The parameters are from the selection screen:
The trace data after using only parameter B:
(No data is found)
The SELECT statement I created from the trace data:
(data is found)
I used the exact WHERE clause values in both cases.
Important to mention: after OPEN CURSOR command, dbcur recieves a value, but at FECH NEXT CURSOR command, ct_data_p remains empty.
What are the possible reasons why this may happen and what should I try?
I have read that if too many cursors are opened, an error message will appear, which is not the case here.

I am using a simple sql block of statements to execute and return a set of results in big query, This is working fine in big query and getting the results,I need to export this data to data studio, so in data studio i use bigquery as connector and select the project and custom query and in that I paste the contents below:
Declare metricType String;
SET metricType="compute.googleapis.com/instance/cpu/utilization";
BEGIN
IF (metricType="compute.googleapis.com/instance/cpu/usage_time")
THEN
SELECT m.value as InstanceName,metric.type as metricType,point.value.double_value as usagetime,point.interval.start_time as StartTime,point.interval.end_time as EndTime,h.value as instance_id FROM `myproject.metric_export.sd_metrics_export_fin`, unnest(resource.labels) as h,unnest(metric.labels) as m where metric.type='compute.googleapis.com/instance/cpu/usage_time' and h.key="project_id";
ELSE IF (metricType="compute.googleapis.com/instance/cpu/utilization")
THEN
SELECT m.value as InstanceName,metric.type as metricType,point.value.double_value as utilizationrate,point.interval.start_time as
StartTime,point.interval.end_time as EndTime,h.value as instance_id FROM `myproject-.metric_export.sd_metrics_export_fin`,unnest(resource.labels) as h,unnest(metric.labels) as m where metric.type='compute.googleapis.com/instance/cpu/utilization' and h.key="project_id";
END IF;
END IF;
END;
but after click "ADD" button i get the below error:
I am not sure what is this error about? I have not used any stored procedure and I am just pasting it as custom query.
Also If I try to save the results of the BigQuery into a view from the Bigquery console results pane, it gives me the error,
Syntax error: Unexpected keyword DECLARE at [1:1]
I am extremely new to datastudio and also to bigquery. Kindly Help thanks
First, I would like to make some considerations about your query. You are using Scripting in order to declare and create a loop within your query. However, since you declare and set the metricsType in the beginning of the query, it will never enter in the first IF. This happens because the value is set and it is not looping through anything.
I would suggest you to use CASE WHEN instead, as below:
SELECT m.value as InstanceName,metric.type as metricType,
CASE WHEN metric.type = #parameter THEN point.value.double_value ELSE 0 END AS usagetime,
CASE WHEN metric.type = #parameter THEN point.value.double_value ELSE 0 END AS utilizationrate,
point.interval.start_time as StartTime,point.interval.end_time as EndTime,h.value as instance_id
FROM `myproject.metric_export.sd_metrics_export_fin`, unnest(resource.labels) as h,unnest(metric.labels) as m
WHERE metric.type=#parameter and h.key="project_id";
Notice that I am using the concept of Parameterized queries. Also, for this reason this query won't work in the console. In addition, pay attention that whem you set the #parameter to "compute.googleapis.com/instance/cpu/utilization", it will have a non-null column with the usagetime and a null column named utilizationrate.
Secondly, in order to add a new data source in DataStudio, you can follow this tutorial from the documentation. After, selecting New Report, click on the BigQuery Connector > Custom Query> Write your Project id, you need to click in ADD PARAMETER (below the query editor). In the above query, I would add:
Name: parameter
Display name: parameter
Data type: text
Default value: leave it in blank
Check the box Allow "parameter" to be modified in reports. This means you will be able to use this parameter as a filter and modify its value within the reports.
Following all the steps above, the data source will be added smoothly.
Lastly, I must point that if your query ran in the Console you are able to save it as a view by clicking on Save view, such as described here.
Some times we need to filter a form grid based on the status of the transaction reference Id. Assume that we want to show purchase orders with confirm document state in arrival overview form. The document state field is located in the purch table. For this aim, I try to outer join WMSArrivalOverviewTmp to purch table and add Range. However the results is not as I expect.
This is the code I have tried in the initialized data source event:
[FormDataSourceEventHandler(formDataSourceStr(WMSArrivalOverview, WMSArrivalOverviewTmp), FormDataSourceEventType::Initialized)]
public static void WMSArrivalOverviewTmp_OnInitialized(FormDataSource sender, FormDataSourceEventArgs e)
{
QueryBuildDataSource qbds = sender.queryBuildDataSource();
QueryBuildDataSource qbdsPO;
qbdsPO = qbds.addDataSource(tableNum(PurchTable));
qbdsPO.clearRange(fieldNum(PurchTable, DocumentState));
qbdsPO.joinMode(JoinMode::OuterJoin);
qbdsPO.fetchMode(QueryFetchMode::One2One);
qbdsPO.addLink(fieldNum(WMSArrivalOverviewTmp, InventTransRefId ),fieldNum(PurchTable, PurchId), qbds.name());
qbdsPO.relations(false);
qbdsPO.addRange(fieldNum(PurchTable, DocumentState)).value(SysQuery::value(VersioningDocumentState::Confirmed));
info(sender.query().toString());
}
This is the query which has been shown :
SELECT FIRSTFAST * FROM WMSArrivalOverviewTmp(WMSArrivalOverviewTmp)
OUTER JOIN FROM PurchTable(PurchTable_1) ON
WMSArrivalOverviewTmp.InventTransRefId = PurchTable.PurchId AND
((DocumentState = 40))
Also, I have changed the event type to query executing but I get errors:
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server][SQL Server]Error converting
data type nvarchar to bigint.
Cannot select a record in Purchase orders (PurchTable). The SQL
database has issued an error.
P.S. I have noticed that the error comes when I click on the update button after I fill one of the field in the filter section(arrival option). For example when I fill account number or warehouse. And also I have noticed that when I click on the update button while the fields are not filled in the filter section the join operation has not applied correctly, i.e., the purchase orders which have draft status are shown.
Your actual query looks correct to me. I would add that you may want to add the link between the WMSArrivalOverviewTmp.InventTransType == InventTransType::Purch (or set qbds.relations(true) so that you use the table's built in relation), but I doubt that is the root of your problem. Of course it wouldn't hurt to make sure your query works in the manner that you expect it to by converting the results of the info() call you have into SQL code and run it in SSMS to double check the result set.
Also, I'm curious why would you put the event on the datasource you are trying to manipulate? I would recommend investigating to see if it can occur on the OnModified event of the "status of the transaction reference Id". Although perhaps I am misunderstanding - if this situation is more of a "we need to happen all the time when the form loads" than a "some times we need" as you start your question off - the place to change the query is to modify it in a handler of the datasource's OnQueryExecuting event.
There are two ways of modifying the query on an event when an event occurs.
FormRun formRun = sender.formRun() as FormRun;
FormDataSource formDataSource = formRun.dataSource(formDataSourceStr(WMSArrivalOverview, WMSArrivalOverviewTmp));
//First way - get the base query and use executeQuery() to reload changes
Query query = formDataSource.query();
//modified query here.
formDataSource.executeQuery();
//Second way - get the current queryRun query and use research() to reload changes
Query query = formDataSource.queryRun.query();
//modified query here.
formDataSource.research();
I need to read automatically-created variants, to get the selection screen parameters and other selection criteria. The names of such variants begin with symbol & (for example, &0000000000425). Such variants are created once you schedule any background job from se80/se38 or any transaction without choosing any existing variant (from the selection screen, menu Program -> Execute in background).
The function module RS_VARIANT_CONTENTS works fine for normal variants (which can be seen via se80/se38), but not for the automatically-created ones (that begin with &). I looked into the FM and found that the VARI table was read by the next code:
IMPORT %_VARI40C TO P_VARI
%_VARI40 TO L_VARI_40
%_VARI TO L_VARI
%_VARIVDAT TO P_VARIVDAT
* %_VARIDYN40 TO P_VARIDYN
%_VARIVDAT_DYN40 TO P_VDATDYN
DYNS_FIELDS TO OLD_DYNSFIELDS
DYNS_TEXPRI TO OLD_TEXPRI
DYNS_EXPR TO OLD_EXPR
DYNS_FIELD_TAB TO DYNS_FIELDS
DYNS_TEXPR TO DYN_SEL-TEXPR
FROM DATABASE VARI(VB) CLIENT L_CLIENT ID P_RKEY
ignoring structure boundaries
IGNORING CONVERSION ERRORS.
However the import returns nothing for the & variants. It looks like the values for & variants are stored within a format which is different from the format used by FM RS_VARIANT_CONTENTS.
Is there any way to find a proper format/data structure for & variants values?
Update: I created ZBC_TEST program and scheduled it as a job. I see a record in VARI table:
MANDT RELID REPORT VARIANT SRTF2
200 VB ZBC_TEST &0000000000425 0
So, the &0000000000425 variant exists in VARI table. VARI-CLUSTD field is not empty for the record. I use this code:
CALL FUNCTION 'RS_VARIANT_CONTENTS'
EXPORTING
REPORT = 'ZBC_TEST'
VARIANT = '&0000000000425'
MOVE_OR_WRITE = 'W'
IMPORTING
SP = lv_sp
TABLES
VALUTAB = lt_valtab.
The FM has been performed without any exception and sy-subrc=0, but lt_valtab table is empty...
The function module is working correctly: Since your program does not have any parameters, the returned value set is empty.
I have JMeter plan that starts with a single JDBC sampler query that captures session ID from the Teradata database (SELECT SESSION;). Same plan also has large number of JDBC samplers with complicated queries producing large output that I don't want to include in the report.
If I configure summary report and tick Save Response Data (XML) then the output from all sampler queries will be saved
How do I add only first query result (it's a single integer) into the test summary report and ignore results from all other queries? For example is there a way to set responseData = false after the first query output is captured?
Maybe sample_variables property can help?
Define something in "Variable Names" section of the JDBC Request, i.e. put session reference name there like:
Add the next line to user.properties file (lives in Jmeter's "bin" folder)
sample_variables=session_1
or alternatively pass it via -J command-line argument like:
jmeter -Jsample_variables=session_1 -n -t /path/to/testplan.jmx -l /path/to/results.csv
You need to use session_1 not session. As per JDBC Request Sampler documentation:
If the Variable Names list is provided, then for each row returned by a Select statement, the variables are set up with the value of the corresponding column (if a variable name is provided), and the count of rows is also set up. For example, if the Select statement returns 2 rows of 3 columns, and the variable list is A,,C, then the following variables will be set up:
A_#=2 (number of rows)
A_1=column 1, row 1
A_2=column 1, row 2
C_#=2 (number of rows)
C_1=column 3, row 1
C_2=column 3, row 2
So given your query returns only 1 row containing 1 integer - it will live in session_1 JMeter Variable. See Debugging JDBC Sampler Results in JMeter article for comprehensive information on working with database query results in JMeter.
When test completes you'll see an extra column in .jtl results file holding your "session" value:
Although not exactly solving your question as posted, I will suggest a workaround, using a "scope" of a listener (i.e. listener will only record items on the same or lower level than a listener itself). Specifically: have two Summary Reports: one on the level of test, the other (together with the sampler whose response you want to record) under a controller. For example:
here I have samplers 1, 2, 3, 4. I only want to save response data from sampler 2. So
Summary Report - Doesn't save responses is on global level, and it's configured to not save any response data. It only saves what I want to save for all samplers.
Summary Report - Saves '2' only is configured to save response data in XML format. But because this instance of Summary Report is under the same controller as sampler 2, but other samplers (1, 3, 4) are on higher level, it will only record responses of sampler 2.
So it doesn't exactly allow you to save response data from one sampler into the same file as all other Summary Report data. But at least you can filter which responses you are saving.
May be you can try assertion for ${__threadNum}
i.e. set condition for assertion as "${__threadNum}=1" and set your listner's "Log/display only" option as "successes"
This way it should log only the first response from samplers.
I am using Sybase 15 and have a SP which returns a result set like this:
SELECT foo,
bar,
etc,
xyz,
...
#temp_id
FROM #table
ORDER BY 2,3 DESC
When this gets to iReport the query shows the field name is blank. It knows that the field type is java.lang.Integer but I can see no way to create a field for it in the report. If I give it a name - #temp_id I get an error telling me the field isn't found. Same thing if I try it in JasperReports.
The strange thing - to me anyway - is that in my Eclipse data explorer it also shows no label for that column. Nor does it for the JasperReports Dataset and Query Dialog when I ask it to Read Fields.
I tried just calling it COLUMN_15 but that didn't work either.
What am I missing?
