I try to run a project from GitHUB that demands python3.5 and numpy installed.
I've installed numpy with pip3.5 install numpy and got the following error:
raise ImportError(msg) ImportError:
Importing the multiarray numpy extension module failed.
Otherwise reinstall numpy.
The original error was:
cannot import name multiarray
I've tried to reinstall numpy and so I did, but this didn't solve the problem.
The environment is
ubuntu 16.4,
python 3.5,
numpy version installed: 1.15.1
How can I solve this error?

I installed the numpy with Conda, pip and pip3, also tried installing from the requirements.txt file but I am still getting the following issue. Has anyone encountered this before and could please kindly suggest something?

numpy is built-in the default:Python environment in Studio Lab. If you open a new notebook with the File -> New -> Notebook, and choose the default:Python kernel, you should be able to import numpy without having to install the package.
If you would like to have a reproducible environment with a set of packages, see this sample repo on creating custom environments.
Numpy isn't preinstalled as a module you will need to install it yourself using pip or conda. Using notebooks just include a code block with the following:
!python -m pip install numpy
Suggestion to compile a list of required modules in a 'requirements.txt' file and install using:
!python -m pip install -r requirements.txt
Just as an FYI, the base package list is as follows:
Python 3.9 bzip2 build-essential curl git libgl1-mesa-glx nano rsync
unzip wget ca-certificates pip ipykernel-6.4
Have a look at this link for more info.
SageMaker - Manage your environment
When I try to install Numpy 1.20.2 module with Python Poetry 1.1.4 package manager (poetry add numpy) in a Python 3.9.0 virtual environment, I get:
ERROR: Failed building wheel for numpy
Failed to build numpy
ERROR: Could not build wheels for numpy which use PEP 517 and cannot be installed directly
I read a few threads like this one, but since then it seems the latest Numpy versions are supposed to be able to be built with 3.9 (see this official Numpy release doc, and this answer).
Did I miss something?
EDIT: using pip 21.0.1 (latest)
even after trying pip install numpy in cmd i cannot get the numpy module installed in pycharm.
i have also tried to add numpy using project interpreter.
numpy is being listed in the available modules but it cannot be installed.
The screenshot of the error is placed below. please help me out
I successfully installed Tensorflow using pip. I activated a virtualenv first. When I tried the verification:
python -c "import tensorflow as tf; tf.enable_eager_execution(); print(tf.reduce_sum(tf.random_normal([1000, 1000])))"
I get this error ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'numpy.core._multiarray_umath'
I verified I have numpy installed. Version: 1.15.4
Have you installed numpy in your virtualenv?
Everytime I try to import the pandas2ri in jupyter, python interface:
from rpy2.robjects import pandas2ri
I get the following error:

I tried to use
from dateutil.tz import tzlocal
but that didn't seem to fix the issue.
I've already installed tzlocal and it is on my computer. When I import pandas2ri on ipython, there is no problem.. the problem only occurs when calling in the jupyter environment.
this is the message I get when I try to install tzlocal again:
DEPRECATION: Python 2.7 will reach the end of its life on January 1st, 2020.
Please upgrade your Python as Python 2.7 won't be maintained after that date. A future version of pip will drop support for Python 2.7.

Requirement already satisfied: pytz in /Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.7/lib/python2.7/site-packages (from tzlocal) (2017.2)
I had a similar issue when running rpy2 in Jupyter. I did not have the package installed previously. I just installed the package and the error went away. You can try installing the package again to see if it helps resolve your issue.
pip install tzlocal
I must add that I am using Python 3.6.8 not 2.7
If using conda:
conda install tzlocal
worked.
I had a similar issue as yours. It turns out that my local lib did not have the tzlocal package. So I installed the package through Anaconda prompt:
pip install tzlocal
And the issue is gone.
