Export inventory data from and import order data into demandware - e-commerce

How can I export inventory information (e.g. on availability for a specific product) from demandware to another ecommerce vendor? Is there something like a demandware API which I can call to get this information? Similarly, is it possible for demandware to receive orders from another ecommerce vendor?
The background is that for a system based on demandware, I would like to integrate it with other ecommerce platforms.

Yes you can do all these sort or Import/Export using Jobs.
Have a look at the following links for a better understanding:
Integration framework: https://xchange.demandware.com/docs/DOC-11159

Please check ExportInventoryLists pipelet https://documentation.demandware.com/DOC2/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.demandware.dochelp%2FDWAPI%2Fpipeletapi%2Fhtml%2Fapi%2Fpipelet.ExportInventoryLists.html&resultof=%22ExportInventoryLists%22%20%22exportinventorylist%22%20.

Product Filter in BigCommerce using core PHP

I have standard plan of Big Commerce store.
I have to integrate product filter dropdowns in my store. So which is the best way to achieve this functionality.
Kindly suggest
Thanks in advance
You have a few options:
1.) Upgrade to a Pro or Enterprise plan, and activate product filtering.
2.) Install a product filtering app and configure.
3.) Make a purely JavaScript solution where you hit different product list pages and append results to the current page.
4.) Make a standalone PHP app (or other BC API supported language) and use JS to hit and display the filtered products on your page.
Options 1 & 2 require no code. Options 3 & 4 could take lots of hours to implement. It depends what your budget is, and the requirements of your project.

Big Commerce Integration for custom Email Invoice

I've looked into different ways to put or get order info from BC to different systems including the BC API, BC Webhooks, Zapier, and other systems like Shipworks.... in the end what I need to do is this:
We need orders placed on BigCommerce to send out a special invoice to the customer. The items that the customer purchased will have custom attributes, a "Tier" and a separate "Unit QTY" which is not the same as the item quantity.
We need to group the items by Tier, and show subtotals of the Unit Qty and Cost. Send this in an invoice as soon as the order is placed on the website.
We are already syncing to Quickbooks online, which does not have the functionality.
Looking for suggestions on different platforms/languages/email services like mailgun/and even shipping integration tools like shipworks, ordoro etc. that might have the ability to code a custom email template like this.
My customer is keeping bigcommerce, no option to switch this out.
I am mainly a Salesforce developer so my strong suit would be to sync the orders to SFDC and code in apex, send the invoice. But before investing in the time, wanted to see if I'm missing some quick potential solutions.
Anyone use Zapier Javascript/Python code platform?
Apologies if this is too open-ended. I feel that this could be a good reference for others in the community about options and best practices.
Hmm your question is pretty broad. Maybe a few links to API documentation could help?
Bigcommerce API - https://developer.bigcommerce.com/api
Ordoro API - https://www.ordoro.com/developer
Send this in an invoice as soon as the order is placed on the website.
I think what you need is a Bigcommerce webhook for store/order/created. See https://developer.bigcommerce.com/api/webhooks-getting-started.
Alternatively, you could set up a cron job that polls BigCommerce for new orders and then sends the email notification.

Amazon Marketplace Web Service (MWS) - add my offer to an existing product

On Amazon Marketplace, there can be multiple offers from different sellers on a single product. So for example Duracell Coppertop AA Batteries are sold by 110 different merchants.
What I need to do is programmatically add my own offer to specific product, join those other sellers offering it.
I know ASIN's of the products I need to place offers to.
The question is what are the steps to place another offer to an existing product through Amazon API.
I think I should upload a Flat File though MWS, but unable to find anywhere what should be the exact format to comply with the above requirement.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Your options are:
Manually add items through the Seller Central browser interface
Use flat files to upload your data. I have no experience with this, but look at _POST_FLAT_FILE_INVLOADER_DATA_ and _POST_FLAT_FILE_LISTINGS_DATA_ .
Use XML feeds. The workflow is described here: Amazon MWS workflow (XML)

What`s the best practice for Magento to update stock from code

I have to integrate my webshop with an external system. This system provides several functionalities, described in their API. This is what I want to do:
Import/sync products (this is available as CSV via request)
Update stock of products (also available as webrequest)
So I have to hook into the Magento stock check and I want some script which updates the products like everyday.
Where should I implement my changes? What is the best way to do this? I can imagine Magento already have some API stock functionalities, but can`t seem to find the right documentation.
Thanks in advance!
Firstly you could use the Magento web service via either SOAP and XML-RPC:
http://www.magentocommerce.com/api/soap/introduction.html#Introduction-SOAP
There's an API for updating stock levels:
http://www.magentocommerce.com/api/soap/catalogInventory/cataloginventory_stock_item.update.html
However, this is usually quite slow and can take some time to update large collections of products, in which case you are better going for a solution which uses the Magento object model directly, or something custom.
Depending upon your level of development expertise there's a few options available. One library to checkout is Magmi:
http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/magmi/index.php?title=Magmi_Wiki
this is useful for updating lots of product data / stock levels quite quickly.
If you do no require an automated solution, you could always use the standard Magento import/export profiles to import stock levels from a CSV file, a quick search for 'Magento Import Export Profiles' should give you a good starting place:
http://www.seenbest-web-design.com/techclub/importing-a-csv-of-products-to-magento/
http://www.woolleydesign.net/2011/02/updating-store-inventory-in-magento/
I am fully functionally using Magmi now. I have written a plugin to automatically create configurable products, so if anyone is ever interested let me know.
There is already a plugin to process configurable products, my plugin is dependent on that plugin.
Basically, you will only be able to create configurable products if you especially have added this to your CSV, with a column named 'type'. In the column type you can set simple or configurable. With my module that won`t be nessecary. By some logic I automatically recognize the simple products and create a new configurable containing those products.
A little explanation on why I need this:
The stock system of our client updates a list of product (CSV) every few hours, containing entries of products. They sell clothing, and every size, and every color is a new entry. So one product can have 10 entries, entry 1: t-shirt green, size 12; entry 2: t-shirt green, size 13, etc.
I explain this, just in case anybody would ever need something like this, my plugin will probably help you. It will although need a few modification for your situation, since this is very specific to how your list of products is composed.
Anyway, thanks for your help!

Commission Junction API for Local (Daily) Deals

Has anyone used Commission Junction's Product Catalog Search API for searching/fetching local deals? (BuyWithMe and KGBDeals post their deals to CJ)
There is a Yipit clone out there which uses this API. This clone was unable to categorize deals properly based on location. I was supposed to fix this issue. The problem I saw is: API's response does not contain location/city info. Therefore, deals cannot be categorized based on cities. This basically kills the purpose of local deals.
I am looking for advice from anyone who has done similar work using CJ API. May be I am missing something.
OneBigPlanet has an All-In-One API filled with all affiliate networks and daily deal providers for U.S & Canada
If you are going to use a deal aggregator API for your site/blog, you may want to take a look at this one as well.
SideBuy has recently released its version 1 API which lets the user (like yourself) connect to its comprehensive set of daily deals using several parameters to fully customize the listings. I suggest you check it out and get in touch in SideBuy's site if you need further assistance.
