How to make devcards work inside Cursive? - intellij-idea

I am able to run figwheel in Cursive using the instructions on the lein-figwheel site (only the option opening files in Intellij didn't work). I would like to do the same for devcards.

I gave up running figwheel inside Cursive (including for devcards). Cursive failed to always update the running code (I followed the instructions at the lein-figwheel site). For running devcards using lein, the instructions at the devcards site work fine. Be careful as minor mistakes, in the project.clj file, will make devcard fail (I suggest you run their example and then adapt it to your project).

Grails commands under Idea fail with a "NoSuchMethodError" for "getAndPut" in the "EvictableCache" class

I'm trying to get an existing project working on a new platform (MacOS, M1) with Idea as the IDE. (I'm extremely new to Idea, but I'm getting help from other project developers.)
For a particular module in the project, any attempt to run pretty much any Grails command fails with an exception:
org.codehaus.groovy.runtime.memoize.EvictableCache.getAndPut(Ljava/lang/Object;Lorg/codehaus/groovy/runtime/memoize/MemoizeCache$ValueProvider;)Ljava/lang/Object
I have verified (to the extent I know how) that there's only one Groovy installation on the machine, and it's version 2.4.14 installed by sdkman. (Grails is 2.5.6.) Running the grails command as part of the Idea build (ie, from clicking "Build" or whatever inside the IDE) and running the grails command in the module top-level directory from the command line have exactly the same results.
I don't have much (well, any) experience with grails or groovy, but to me a "NoSuchMethodError" means that some piece of code was compiled against a different version of that class (EvictableCache) than the version that's actually in the jar file when grails runs. There are groovy .jar files in the project directory, but their presence seems to make no difference; it always gets that exception.
I'm using the Azul zulu8 JDK, downloaded from Azul directly. Formerly I had been using a version installed with brew but that made no difference.
Any ideas as to how to locate the .class file with the attempted call to getAndPut() in EvictableCache would be welcome.
edit — as I was looking at the stack traces from running a command, I noticed something. Again, my groovy is 2.4.14, as I can verify with groovy -version. At the top of one of my stack traces (maybe more than one) I see that the attempted call to getAndPut() is coming from a class called AbstractExtensionMethodCache. Well, as far as I can tell, that class did not become part of Groovy until version 3. So clearly something is messed up.

IntelliJ not correctly analyzing grpc-kotlin generated code

I have followed the instructions here: https://github.com/grpc/grpc-kotlin/tree/master/compiler for Gradle, and everything is working fine, but IntelliJ is seeing errors in the generated code, even though when I run the application and manually write code I know would work it runs just fine.
Intellisense was disabled in one of the generated code files because of file size, causing all the others to have errors. I was able to increase the intellisense max file size and now everything works!

How to setup Eclipse IDE for gem5 development?

Due to:
extensive usage of code auto-generation (notably for the .isa instruction and decoder sublanguage)
scons symlinking sources into the build tree, and in particular symlinking src/arch/ARCH to src/ARCH
it becomes very hard to setup Eclipse to work well with gem5.
Has anyone managed to achieve a good setup? Especially interested in Linux hosts.
I have achieved a very good setup with the following horrendous hack: define the Eclipse project inside the build/ARM directory itself!
This is done by creating a "New makefile project with existing code" in the build directory. You will also want to fix the C++ standard library as mentioned at: How to solve "Unresolved inclusion: <iostream>" in a C++ file in Eclipse CDT?
This works amazingly because the way the gem5 build system works as of May 2020, the build/ARM directory contains exactly the final compilation tree, including all the source symlinks and autogenerated code,.
This setup is not perfect because there is still some C++ stuff in build/ outside of ARM, e.g. ext, but 99% of the time we don't care about those, and I can perfectly navigate key autogenerated code such as instructions and decoder.
I then just build via the command line normally with scons.
Humongous autogenerated files like exec-ns.cc.inc turn on Eclipse's large file limited mode. Notably, if you want to jump to a definition, Ctrl + click does not work for me, so I just copy the symbol of interest and Ctrl + Shift + T to go to its definition.
I don't usually bother to try GDB step debug gem5 through Eclipse and use it mostly for code navigation, since GDB Dashboard tends to work well enough for me, and I often need to do new log collection runs and I sometimes use reverse debugging when things get serious.
But I have tested step debugging through Eclipse, and it did work normally (no reason not to I guess), you just have to set it up in exactly the same was as for any other C++ application with a Makefile, i.e. basically tell eclipse the Binary name and the desired CLI on the debug configurations.
You have of course as usual to choose between a gem5.debug debug build or a gem5.opt build, where the .debug build is about 10-20x slower but gives greater debug visibility. In general, if the time to reach the point of interest in a debug build starts to annoy you however, what you tend to really want is to do use reverse debugging.
This is also mentioned at: https://cirosantilli.com/linux-kernel-module-cheat/#gem5-eclipse-configuration
Tested in Eclipse 2020-03.

IntelliJ + Play Framework routes file red underline error

Image of the errors
I don't how to fix this red underlines I recently got in my routes files.
What I did:
I split up my routes files into 3 files:
- routes
- rest.routes
- web.routes
And after I did, IntelliJ said something about "We have a new program that can handle .routes files" and I clicked yes to it. <-- Stupid me :(
Can also mention that I cant remember what addon that was installed, and I cant find any addons that differs from previous versions.
Before there was no "spellchecking" on the file, but now I get this box in top of the file saying "Project SDK is not defined 'Setup SDK' ". It also gives the red "undelining" similar to spellchecking under every single line of code in the file.
The code itself works great, its just very frustrating to have these red lines everywhere.
Anyone know how to get rid of it?
Highly appreciated!
IntelliJ 2017.2 and Play Framework 1, I had this problem one day. Took me awhile to figure out but it was the Scala plugin that made this fail for me. After uninstalling the Scala plugin it works again.
I also faced similar issue recently. The plugin that Intellij asks to install in this case is Erlang. You just have to uninstall it (or just suppress the warning).
To uninstall Erlang go to Preferences.. -> Plugins. Then search for Erlang and select. Then click uninstall (on the right pane).
First, setup Java SDK (even if you use scala)
Second, try to compile code (run play application) and recheck routes files. I suggest that IDEA use compile routes classes to verify config.
Third, check syntax of your conf/routes . Are you sure want use -> ?

GCC 4.5.0..linking error during compilation?

Well I've recently come out of the dark ages and upgraded my GCC from 3.4.4 to 4.5.0 with Cygwin (I use Netbeans 6.8 on Windows for future reference). I tried testing the new compiler by attempting to run a simple program through it. The run failed however, citing that NetBeans "cannot find -lstdc++".
Interesting.
I look in ...
C:\cygwin\lib\gcc\i686-pc-cygwin\4.5.0
...where libstdc++.a, libstdc++.dll.a, libstdc++.la, libsupc++.a, and libsupc++.la are supposed to be (they're in that spot in the 3.4.4 folder), and they're not there. I also notice something else: there's a 4.3.4 folder in...
C:\cygwin\lib\gcc\i686-pc-cygwin
which contains these exact files! Good. So I copy them in to the 4.5.0 folder and try to run the program again. This time i'm getting two other errors:
build/Debug/Cygwin-Windows/extract_fail_operations.o:/usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-cygwin/4.5.0/include/c++/bits/stl_list.h:1435: undefined reference to `std::_List_node_base::_M_hook(std::_List_node_base*)'
and:
build/Debug/Cygwin-Windows/extract_fail_operations.o:/usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-cygwin/4.5.0/include/c++/bits/stl_list.h:1451: undefined reference to `std::_List_node_base::_M_unhook()'
At this point I figured that I was way over my head and decided to come for help before copying and pasting any more files. If anyone could tell me how to get this working, i'd be really appreciative.
(If any solutions involve the command line, please be warned that i'm not well versed in it... you may have to provide extra details that you wouldn't need to to other SO users!)
EDIT: The PATH variables are as follows:
C:\Program Files\SSH Communications Security\SSH Secure Shell;C:\Program Files\CVSNT\;C:\cygwin\bin
And yes, the Cygwin installed is the latest from the site.
You need to install version 4.5.0 of libstdc++6-devel.
