Redhawk IDE will not display Components - ide

When I launch the REDHAWK IDE via Eclipse, I cannot see the installed components (SigGen, fastFilter, etc). I can see the components just fine if I use the command line to create a project. I'm convinced it has to be a path or variable issues, but I just don't know what to reconfigure.
I'm using REDHAWK Version 2.1.0 and on CentOS7
OSSIEHOME is set to the /usr/local/redhawk/core
SDRROOT is set to /var/redhawk/sdr
Any suggestions?

I found a solution by reinstalling and including every Redhawk package that I could find using "yum list redhawk*"

I have the same problem and it turns out I was using a Java version higher than 8 which is not supported by RedHawk. Make sure you use Java 8 to launch the IDE otherwise it does not work. Submitted a DR but because JDK8 still supported they do not feel the need to fix it.

I followed the official installation instructions for RedHawk 2.3.0 on Centos 7.9 and had this same issue, I fixed it by opening a terminal in the Redhawk installation directory and running
sudo yum install redhawk-basic-components-2.3.0-5.el7.x86_64.rpm
After which the components appeared in the IDE without a restart

GNOME Shell integration extension is running, native host connector is not detected?

I have followed these steps while installing the gnome extension of chromium in Ubuntu 20.04.
Installed the GNOME Shell integration extension on chromium.
As per their documentation ran a command to install chrome-gnome-shell
sudo apt-get install chrome-gnome-shell
Still while loading the gnome-extensions page, it is showing error that "Although GNOME Shell integration extension is running, native host connector is not detected. Refer documentation for instructions about installing connector."
Can anyone tell me how to resolve this issue in steps?
FYI: starting from Ubuntu 21.10 Firefox comes as a default browser and as a snap, as well as Chromium. And has the same problem: GNOME Shell integration shows the same error.
Other ways to install the extensions are:
gnome-extensions install --force your_downloaded_extension.zip
unzip your_downloaded_extension.zip ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/
Probably this is because you are running Chromium as a Snap. There is an open bug in Launchpad about this, that appears to still be happening in Ubuntu 20.04 (still happening in Ubuntu 22.04):
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-browser/+bug/1741074
The easiest solution would probably be to use another web browser, not in a Snap.
I experienced this issue when upgrading from Ubuntu 21.04 to Ubuntu 22.04 (Jammy Jellyfish), where Firefox was installed via snap - supposedly the sandboxing made it unable to detect.
My resolution (which brought back gnome extensions connector being seen) was to install firefox manually by debian package via the directions in https://balintreczey.hu/blog/firefox-on-ubuntu-22-04-from-deb-not-from-snap/ . You may also be able to install the direct tarball following directions in https://fostips.com/install-latest-firefox-non-esr-debian/
Another option is to use a native extension manager as suggested in https://haydenjames.io/ubuntu-22-04-install-gnome-extensions-manager-workaround/
I solved using Chrome and not more Firefox for extensions.gnome.
(I use Chrome just for manage this extension)
If you still got problems, you could simply do this:
sudo apt-get reinstall chrome-gnome-shell
For me it did work after all, but just by using another browser - Firefox
I'm using Ubuntu 20.10 and I also had this issue. I was using Chromium but I found that Chromium dropped support for this, therefore I installed Firefox from the software. This did not work either.
The fix was to uninstall Firefox from software and install Firefox from ubuntu software with the source: ubuntu-groovy-updates-main
I installed the browser extension on there and it worked perfectly.
Aevin J He gave the answer if you're on ubuntu 21.10. it really matters whom you install it from. don't use the default one, use the one with most reviews

Installing Apache Cordova

I'm new to this of Apache Cordova. I'm trying to follow the documentation but cannot understand it very well. It says that for prerequisite I need to install the correspondant SDK. I did install Android Studio. then downloaded the Node.js and then tried to run the installation but it doesn't start I don't understand why it doesn't start. There is another things that I need to do so it starts installing?
Any help will be great. Thanks!
I think the clue is in the message -- just run the command npm install -g cordova from the normal DOS command prompt.
first of all you have to install 1)node.js 2)apache ANT 3) Java JDK & JRE 4) Android SDk & Eclipse and then after all installation you have to set this all software path into environmental- variable. and then fire your npm install -g cordova. without this all software installation and there path setup your phoneGap application will not created. and still you have any confusion and any question related software installation and there path setup then again tell me i will help you.
First and foremost, you want to install Node.js in order to get the 'npm' commands to work.
https://nodejs.org/download/release/latest/
You can download the latest version of Node.js from there... I was on a Mac, so I did the .pkg download. Install the appropriate one for your development machine.
After that, the 'npm' commands for Cordova will work. Hope this at least gets you started! :)

Cannot run standalone psychopy if PYTHONPATH and PYTHONHOME set for different python version

I thought that the standalone PsychoPy install could coexist happily if Python was installed separately on the PC to but I can't get it to, nor can I find any docs. (I'm using Windows 7)
I have the lastest standalone version installed and the shortcut to run it is
"D:\Program Files (x86)\PsychoPy2\pythonw.exe" "D:\Program Files (x86)\PsychoPy2\Lib\site-packages\PsychoPy-1.81.02-py2.7.egg\psychopy\app\psychopyApp.py"
This works fine if my system env variables for PYTHONHOME & PYTHONPATH aren't set but I also use Python for other apps and need them setting to point to the other version of Python I have installed natively. When these env vars are set, Psychopy fails to load and gives no error messages at all.
Can anyone advise how I get them to play together nicely? (I thought it used to work last year, has something changed?)
[ I've tried a full uninstall of psychopy and freshly installed the latest standalone version v1.81.02
Yes, this is an unfortunate consequence of the way that PsychoPy is currently bundled with it's own closed environment in it's own python and dependencies installed seperately.
However, a new option to install psychopy using the conda package manager was introduced recently for Mac OS but some have also got it to work on Windows with a bit of tweaking.. Work is currently ongoing for this feature. I doubt that it was working previously unless you manually installed all dependencies in your default python, or ran linux:
On linux you can simply install psychopy from the neuro.debian repository, making it available for python system-wide. See PsychoPy documentation.
Thinking about it, I don't think it would ever worked if you had set PYTHONPATH (I don't know about PYTHONHOME).
BUT I did have a 'regular' python installation running alongside my Standalone PsychoPy install by not using the PYTHONPATH variable. You can add further paths to your python importing path (I assume that's the aim here) without setting any environment variable by adding text files ending in .pth to your site-packages directory. Essentially any lines in a .pth file that is found while navigating the existing path will also be added to the path!
Actually, according to the python docs you can also set a flag -E to ignore the environment variables:
https://docs.python.org/2/using/cmdline.html
To use that solution for the Standalone PsychoPy installation you'd have to alter the application shortcut to add this (that should get the app to load), but also make a couple of changes to the code for running scripts so that they also run with the flag set.
I still think not setting those variables is the easier solution though.
cheers,
Jon

Undefined symbol: apr_crypto_init during Apache restart?

I attempted to update my version of SVN from 1.7 to 1.8 as per this guide:
http://snippets.khromov.se/subversion-1-8-centos-6/
All seemed to install fine, however now I have an issue when I try to restart Apache:
/usr/sbin/httpd: symbol lookup error: /usr/sbin/httpd: undefined symbol: apr_crypto_init
Does anyone know how to solve this?
Which packages need to be updated?
I had same issue after installing some perl modules.
I did the following to resolve it:
yum remove vulture-common-3.2-185.1.x86_64
cd /usr/lib
ln -sf libaprutil-1.so.0.2.9 libaprutil-1.so.0
ln -sf libapr-1.so.0.2.9 libapr-1.so.0
apr_crypto_init is new with APR-Util 1.4.x. CentOS 6 should already have APR-Util 1.4.x. So either you're not using CentOS 6 which those instructions are made for or you're not using the apr-util/httpd version that comes with CentOS 6.
If you're not using CentOS 6 then I suggest you go get a version built for your distribution from WANdisco's download site (the script that the site you linked to actually is from WANdisco).
If you're using your own httpd version you'll either have to switch or you'll have to build your own copy of Subversion.
I have had similar experiences with other applications using this library and Centos 6.x. I have tracked most of the problems down to using the 'minimum install' version of the OS. From what I have been able to determine, the minimum or light install versions of Centos have a tendency to have older versions of the binaries. For example, my version of APR-Utils are 1.3x even though I am using version 6.6.
This is supposedly done for better stability and backward compatibility from what I can find but it causes some headaches if you aren't aware. You may need to use a more 'complete' version of the OS in order for this library to be the latest version, provided you are starting from scratch.

Intellij apparently not getting installed, not running

i have a 32 bit Fedora 14 machine and I am trying to install IntellIJ IDEA on it, I used the package manager to install it. Along with that installation, also Eclipse and Groovy got installed.
Then I tried to install a new version of JDK but it didnt allow me to do so because of conflict with an older version of JRE, So I removed the JRE older version and installed JDK.
Then I have been noticing that IntelliJ refuses to run, I uninstalled and reinstalled and checked several times, but it just refuses to start, Then I opened a terminal and typed intell, hoping that the terminal would complete it for me, and I could launch the program from the command line, but no it said "intellIj:Command not found", whereas the same thing does not happen with Eclipse or Groovy.
I have tried restarting the machine several times, uninstalled and then reinstalled the packages several times, but nothing seems to work. I am not sure whether Intellij is getting installed or not, but the Package Manager does not show any error while the software is being installed. Any ideas as to why this is happening, and how to get around this problem?
You should try to install it manually by just extracting tgz file downloaded from producer website. Then you start IDE by launching IDEA_DIRECTORY/bin/idea.sh
