In Sql Server Management Studio 2016, I can open the Template Browser with the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Alt + t. But then I need to click on the template browser to activate it before typing to select folders and files. Is there any way to activate the template browser without clicking? This worked automatically in an earlier version I had (SSMS 2008?).

I have a VB.NET project under Visual Studio 2010.
Each time I open the solution (which contains only one vb.net project), the solution explorer populates with the associated projects but appends "unavailable" next to the project name. Also, it appends "0 projects" next to the solution name.
Every time I right click and reload the project, it reloads quickly and then reverts back to unavailable.
Whats happens? I have tried to open VS 2010 in administrator mode and I get the same result.
However, If I open a command line prompt window as administrator and from that command line I launch VS 2010 in safe mode using below command:
devenv /safemode
... and then once VS 2010 opened I open the solution, it works.
So what's the problem?
I'm opening a Database Schema Comparison (.scmp) file and the file opens in Visual Studio as XML. However, the need is for the file to open in the Server Data Tools tab.
I have tried opening from Visual Studio and Windows Explorer.
Using Visual Studio Professional 2015 with Update 3.
Silly me. I didn't notice that SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT) had been corrupted and wasn't showing as installed. Installing SSDT solved the issue.
The .scmp file is a XML file essentially. It is stored in the Schema Comparison folder of the project system by default. When you double click the .scmp file in the Visual Studio, the Select Source/ Target Schema page appears, on which shows the comparison settings and options that you have set. When you click the OK button on that page, SchemaCompare1.scmp file (for example) shows in the edit explorer.
However, you may not open a .scmp file by double-clicking it on the disk. It may be because the .scmp file is used to save comparison settings and options between usage sessions (any combination of a project, database, and .dbschema file), it associates with a solution so you can open it by double-clicking it in the Visual Studio.
I'm trying to learn how to code a server in VB.Net. I'm coding on Visual Studio.
My server works, my clients interact with it.
The thing is that if I reboot my computer, I have to make a new projet and copy/paste my code in order for my server to work.
If I don't do this my clients don't see my server.
I have no idea of why. If anyone have an idea I'll be very thankful.

Find your exe file in your project folders and create a windows shortcut to it
On Windows 7 and earlier versions of Windows, the Start menu contained a “Startup” folder to make this easy. On these versions of Windows, you can simply open your Start menu, locate a shortcut to an application you want to start automatically, right-click it, and select Copy. Next, locate the Startup folder under All Apps in the Start menu, right-click it, and select Paste to paste a copy of that shortcut.
From this site:
This folder is no longer as easily accessible on Windows 8, 8.1, and 10, but it’s still accessible. To access it, press Windows Key + R, type “shell:startup” into the Run dialog, and press Enter. Yes, you’ll need to use the folder — you can’t simply add shortcuts from the Task Manager’s Startup pane.
Shortcuts you add to the “shell:startup” folder will only launch when you log in with your user account. If you’d like a shortcut to launch itself whenever any user logs in, type “shell:common startup” into the Run dialog instead.
I've switched to Eclipse Juno, which claims not to support SQL Explorer. So I want to start using the stand-alone SQL Explorer, but I don't want to have to re-enter all my connections.
Where does the Eclipse SQL Explorer plugin save its settings, and where does the SQL Explorer stand-alone app store its settings, so I can copy them over?
So, after some research, I have an answer. The Exclipse SQL Explorer settings are stored in
<your-workspace>/.metadata/.plugins/net.sourceforge.sqlexplorer/
The same is true for SQL Explorer. However, SQL Explorer doesn't give you any way to specify the "workspace" to use. On the Mac, you need to "Show Package Contents" on the SQL Explorer app, then drill down to Contents/MacOS/ to find the workspace folder.
How can I add application to startup of VISTA or Win7, using Setup and Deployment package?
Thanks

In your Setup project, click View + Editor + File System. Right-click the left panel, Add special folder, select "User's Startup Folder". Select it. Right-click the right panel, Create New Shortcut and select the application.
