I am trying to deploy a Spring application with Intellij. While I was working with the server and using button, I did marked the "do not show this again" option as checked and instead of choosing redeploy, the "restart server" option was checked. I did read Intellij's documentation but I did not find anything. I did add a new server, but apparently the previous setting is valid for the new server as well. Please advise.
I believe you clicked on 'Don't ask again' here:
If you wish for that dialog to appear again, then edit your Run Configuration and check 'Show Dialog':
after which on clicking 'Refresh' as in the first snapshot the dialog should appear again.
Furthermore, note that clicking on 'Don't ask again' will only affect the configuration of the specific Run Configuration. For instance, in the snapshots above, the only Run Configuration affected is RunOnTomcat.
The default configuration can be changed and will then affect all future Run Configurations. For instance, if you wished to not have the dialog appear for any future Tomcat Server Run configurations then you would uncheck the 'Show Dialog' option here:

On my server pc I have a simple vb.net application running on windows startup. Currently I simply added it to the StartUp folder in AppData. This works fine except I have to remotely connect and login to my server pc after each restart, before the application will start up. How do i make my application start up with out me having to login first? I know it's possible since a lot of programs dont require you to login on the machine first like teamviewer and my sql server.
You can use Window's Task Scheduler for this purpose:
Basic settings
Open the Task Scheduler (you may search for it in the Start Menu).
In the Actions panel click Create Task....
Enter a name and description (the latter is optional) for your task.
Select Run whether user is logged on or not and possibly Do not store password..
Adding a trigger
Go to the Triggers tab and click New....
In the Begin the task box select At startup.
Make sure Enable is ticked, then press OK.
Specifying an action
Go to the Actions tab and click New....
In the Action box select Start a program.
In the Program/script box enter the path to your application.
Press OK and you're done!

I accidentally closed () the remote host window in a project of PHPStorm and i can't get it back.
It isnt in View->Tool Windows.
And is also enabled in Plugin Settings Page
Ok I succesfully bring it back by browsing Tools | Deployment | Browse Remote Host :D
Please check if the following options are enabled in settings(Ctrl+Alt+S). It goes uncheck if Php Storm crashes. Check the below options and restart the editor. You will layout restored. (sometimes when editor crash and these gets unchecked).
This works for ver 2017.2.1
Also, check Windows->Store current layout as the default just to make sure in the future you can restore the layout.
I use Weblogic 12.1.3, when logged to admin server I see a tab with label "WLDF Console Extension" when choosing it, I get this message
"The WLDF Console Extension, which provided visual tools to display diagnostic information in this domain, has been replaced in this release by new integrated Monitoring Dashboard and Request Performance tools. For more information on these updates, please consult the online help and release notes for this release..."
How to hide this uselss tab, I have another installtion at work with the same version does not have this tab.
In general the WLDF extension is not installed by default so someone must have put it there and/or turned it on. To remove it there are 2 options:
Navigate to <domain dir>/console-ext and remove the diagnostics-console-extension.jar file. Restart your admin server.
Click the perferences link at the top of the admin console, click the Extensions tab, find the diagnostics-console-extension and disable it
If you ever need it back you can re-enable it or copy it back into your domain directory from the WL_HOME\server\lib\console-ext folder
I have a new WCF Service Application, when I hit F5 to debug, the WCF Test Client always comes up, but I would like to disable it since I am using soapUI to test instead.
I have tried the answer here - https://stackoverflow.com/a/8441887/903056 but this XML node is no longer in the project file for VS 2012. I have tried several other things myself as well, such as changing default start page and trying to force debug to start a browser session instead.
This is realy frustrated but you can try one of the followings to disable the WCF test client:
1.Open the requested project properties and select the Web tab. Select
the Current Page radio button (I believe that the Specific Page
button is selected), Save the project and run(F5).
2.You can modified the prject XML (.csproj) file and add
<EnableWcfTestClientForSVCDefaultValue>False</EnableWcfTestClientForSVCDefaultValue>
attribute to <WebProjectProperties> node. That should be done by the
followings:
2.1 Unload the requested project (right click -> Unload Project).
2.2 Edit <ProjectName>.csproj (right click again on the project)
2.3 Look for WebProjectProperties node and add <EnableWcfTestClientForSVCDefaultValue>False</EnableWcfTestClientForSVCDefaultValue> to it.
2.4 Reload the poject.
I hope you will find that unswer helpfull..
A simple option that works for me (at least in Visual Studio 2012 Update 4):
Open the WCF project properties and go to the Web section. Set the Start Action setting to Don't open a page. Wait for a request from an external application.
After choosing that option I no longer see the WCF Test Client.
I personally usually choose this start action anyway, since I much prefer hitting F5 in my browser than having yet another tab opened each time I hit F5 in VS.
I found a reasonable work around. All I did was add an empty html page to the project, then right clicked on the html file in Solution Explorer and chose Set As Start Page. A debug session starts but it doesn't go to the WCF TestClient. Not elegant but works.
Old thread but found it while I was suffering the same frustration with VS2013. If you run the project (F5) with the (yourProject)\svc.cs file open in the VS editor then the WCF Client starts. If you hit F5 with any other file as the selected and focused file in the VS editor then IIS and the normal first web page starts.
Very simple when one knows.
I had a similar problem, and found this to be caused by the default Start Options under
> Solution Properties
> Debug
>Start Options
>Command line arguemnts:
it was listing a command line argument of /client:"WcfTestClient.exe" which was launching the test client. Simply removing this argument solved my problem.
No need to extra thing just do thing below.
Tools-->Option -->project and solution-->Build and Run and finally
check Only startup project and Dependencies on Run
In an HTML file on My Computer, I'm trying to use the Scripting.FileSystemObject in a script. How can I disable the popup saying "Any ActiveX control on this page may be unsafe for scripting"?
The "Internet Options" Security pane allows one to set "Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe for scripting" to Enabled for various zones, but files on the local computer don't appear to be in any of the listed zones.
So I guess the alternate question is "How can I edit the security options for local files?"
System:
Windows XP SP3
Internet Explorer 7
By pure hackery, I discovered that setting the following registry value does it:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0]
"1201"=dword:00000000
But I'm still wondering whether there's any supported way of doing this.
Tools |Internet Options | Advanced tab .. way down under Security .. "Allow active content to run in files on My Computer"
Start Menu, Run and type INETCPL.CPL
Click the Security tab
In the Internet Zone, click the Custom Level button
Set Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe to Allow
There's a registry way of getting "Local Computer" to appear as one of the security zones. But this article doesn't mention IE7, so IE7 might be different. XP also has new settings like "Allow active content to run in files on My Computer" under advanced options.
Alternatively, if you rename your local .html file to .hta (a HMTL application), that might be what you're looking for. Unless you need all the browser chrome.
as someone mentioned that this should be added to registry
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0]
"1201"=dword:00000000
but i found that "Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe" must be enabled too for internet zone
Depends on the version. Here's for IE32 on x64 Windows:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Wow6432Node\CLSID{0D43FE01-F093-11CF-8940-00A0C9054228}\Implemented Categories]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Wow6432Node\CLSID{0D43FE01-F093-11CF-8940-00A0C9054228}\Implemented Categories{7DD95801-9882-11CF-9FA9-00AA006C42C4}]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Wow6432Node\CLSID{0D43FE01-F093-11CF-8940-00A0C9054228}\Implemented Categories{7DD95802-9882-11CF-9FA9-00AA006C42C4}]
I also had ActiveX security warning ("an activex control on this page might be unsafe to interact with other parts of the page. Do you want to allow this interaction ?") on IE11 Win10 & with the below registry setting I could suppress that popup.
[HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-18\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\Zones\0] "1201="dword:00000000".
[HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-18 is for SYSTEM account & we can also set this for HKCU for current user account.
Activex Controls often prompt an error message while trying to launch course through the local files. (For IE7)
Please set the following settings under internet option\Security\Internet\custom level\
Run Activex controls and plug ins - Enable
Script Activex control marked safe for scripting - Enable
under Scripting - Active Scripting - Enable
Also please check the following check box undertools\Internet options\Advanced\security
1. Allow active content to run in my files on my computer.
