Please check if the following options are enabled in settings(Ctrl+Alt+S). It goes uncheck if Php Storm crashes. Check the below options and restart the editor. You will layout restored. (sometimes when editor crash and these gets unchecked).
This works for ver 2017.2.1
Also, check Windows->Store current layout as the default just to make sure in the future you can restore the layout.

intellij : "search results are not loaded check the internet connection"

Using Intelliji for Java, I'm trying to get cucumber plugin, so i go to the file dropdown menu and go to settings menu and go to plugins. I type in cucumber in the plugins search bar. But nothing is found in the search results.
The message given is " search results are not loaded check the internet connection "
I also get " marketplace plugins are not loaded. Check the internet connection and >refresh< "
My internet connection is fine. I've already downloaded a load of dependancies using maven via intellij. the refresh button doesn't help. Why does intellij think the problem is no internet connection? How do I get intellij to find plugins?
I needed to set up a proxy under Appearance & Behavior Settings, System Settings, HTTP Proxy. I selected auto detect proxy settings. After this I was able to see plugins in the marketplace window.
For me I was able to get the marketplace working when I went to
Configure>Settings>HTTP Proxy Settings> Auto-detect proxy settings>Automatic Proxy configuration URL: https://plugins.jetbrains.com
Actually it seems to be working even without the Automatic Proxy configuration URL disabled
The changes of the settings work for me:
As mentioned in one of the comments on this link, I made the following changes:
Enabled Auto-detect proxy settings under Appearance & Behavior > System Settings > HTTP Proxy.
Removed the below flag under the Help > Custom VM Options.
-Djsse.enableSNIExtension=false
Restarted Intellij after making these changes. Made these changes on Intellij Ultimate 2019.3.3
There are a couple of things you can try.
I will start with what worked for me!
I felt my IP was blocking the plugins, I enabled the VPN and it worked!
for some version IntelliJ looks for plugins using HTTP protocol instead of
HTTPS, so add the following lines
IntelliJ bin folder-> idea.properties,
idea.plugins.host=https://plugins.jetbrains.com
try disabling the SNIExtension, Help->Edit Custom VM options
Djsse.enableSNIExtension=false
Such questions we should refer to the log of IDEA at first.
visit the menu Help ~> Show Log in Exporer, will open the directory of log,
For me,the log file is C:\Users\lawev\AppData\Local\JetBrains\IntelliJIdea2020.1\log\idea.log.
open the file we can find such contenet
2020-09-10 12:39:16,795 [ 158219] INFO - ateSettings.impl.UpdateChecker - failed to load plugin descriptions from https://plugins.jetbrains.com/idea: SSL error probably caused by disabled SNI
Now I see ,visit the menu Help ~> Edit Custom VM Options, check or add this line
-Djsse.enableSNIExtension=true
now it's ok!
my envirment is win10 1909,Intellij UI 2020.1
Starting IntelliJ (2019.2.1) on Windows 10 64-bit in Admin mode fixed this for me.
in my case, my goland settings somehow get corrputs, i delete the folder ~/.GoLand2019.2, and restart goland, then the marketplace works.
in my case, it happen because your internet service provider/ISP block https://plugins.jetbrains.com. There is 2 ways i solve it:
Before i use Sm'rtfren SIM Card Phone(from my country) provider which is can not load marketplace plugin. Then i switch to Tr'e SIM Card Phone provider and it works!
You can use UrbanVPN Desktop software, i use windows version. it will change ISP IP and then it works!
I encounter the similar problem in Android Studio when I want to install the Flutter& Dart plugins .
For me,I install Shadowsocks vpn proxy(https://github.com/shadowsocks/shadowsocks) in my computer. Then I change the Shadowsocks vpn proxy to global mode. After this I was able to see plugins in the marketplace window.Hope it can help you

How to disable application update options in intellij

I am trying to deploy a Spring application with Intellij. While I was working with the server and using button, I did marked the "do not show this again" option as checked and instead of choosing redeploy, the "restart server" option was checked. I did read Intellij's documentation but I did not find anything. I did add a new server, but apparently the previous setting is valid for the new server as well. Please advise.
I believe you clicked on 'Don't ask again' here:
If you wish for that dialog to appear again, then edit your Run Configuration and check 'Show Dialog':
after which on clicking 'Refresh' as in the first snapshot the dialog should appear again.
Furthermore, note that clicking on 'Don't ask again' will only affect the configuration of the specific Run Configuration. For instance, in the snapshots above, the only Run Configuration affected is RunOnTomcat.
The default configuration can be changed and will then affect all future Run Configurations. For instance, if you wished to not have the dialog appear for any future Tomcat Server Run configurations then you would uncheck the 'Show Dialog' option here:

Remote web server pages do not update after making changes via SSHFS

I've been troubleshooting this for a while now and can't seem to find a solution. I have a remote LAMP server in my office and sometimes need to work from home. I use a SSHFS between my home computer and work to accomplish this.
However, I have run into an issue where when I update the local files, the changes get pushed to the server immediately as they should. I have verified that the changes are there via SSH and VIM. However, if I refresh and even force refresh the page in Chrome the changes do not appear.
I also created a local file which showed up immediately on the server and I could view in Chrome, but any subsequent changes to the file are not rendered.
Any time that I'm in the office the changes are rendered immediately as well.
Anybody have any ideas?
Apache 2.4.7
Sublime Text 3 Editor
Client SSHFS: win-sshfs 0.0.1.5
Server SSH: OpenSSH_6.6.1p1
My guess is that the modified time isn't updated correctly on the remote filesystem. I'm not so sure what would be the fix for this but this at least could be a first trail to follow?
In fact, I just did a little search around and found this bug : https://code.google.com/p/win-sshfs/issues/detail?id=99
With a possible workaround in Sublime 2, I'll let you check if there is such a setting in Sublime 3

IntelliJ - Corrupted Workspace

My machine crashed and corrupted my .workspace file in IntelliJ IDEA> I deleted the .workspace file and restarted IDEA. It restarted but now I've lost my Tomcat config.
When I try to re-add, the Application Server menu is greyed out.
Can anyone tell me how to get my config back, or at least re-add it?
I've tried the Local History method but I don't see any previous history.
Add the Tomcat app server back under settings and you should be fine. Once you do that, Tomcat will appear as an app server choice again.
I restarted and IntelliJ is now working. I don't know what fixed it because I restarted a few time.

IE11 Developer Tools Blank Network and Profile Tab

Extensively used IE9 Developer Tools and I just updated to IE11 "11.0.2" and the Developer Tools are garbage.
My Network and Profile Tabs are blank.
Is there a "special" setting that I'm missing in order to enable them, or could there be a specific windows hot fix between the IE11 RTM and 11.0.2 that I may be missing?
I had the same problem (version 11.0.9600.17633) on WIN7
Only on one of 4 accounts. Reinstalling IE11, etc did not help.
With regedit, I renamed HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer
to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer Old
I logged off, then logged on again and started Internet Explorer. This recreated the key. The network tab and profiler tab are no longer blank. Internet Explorer settings have been lost however. I assume the settings and state of Internet Explorer are the same as just after creating a new account.
The network tab was not working for me on Windows 10 Creators Update (Version 1703 OS Build 150063.540) in IE OR Edge.
After trying the various registry changes mentioned by others without success, I removed Internet Explorer as a Window Feature (Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows Features on or off).
I rebooted and opened Edge and the network tab was working again.
Then I went back into Programs and Feature and added IE back as in installed feature. I rebooted and now the network tab is working in both IE and Edge.
To make blank Network Panel/Profiler Panel appear again(also pin F12 developer tool not working either), delete the following registry DWORD key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Main\TabProcGrowth
This key could be recreated automatically.
I still have this problem using IE 11.0.9600.18097 on Win 7 [Version 6.1.7601]. I post my solution here in case someone faces the same situation like me, that your company doesn't allow updating IE on your own. My

Here is the solution: install the following patch from Microsoft and restart your computer:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=46507
This helped me for IE 11, Windows 10:
sc config diagnosticshub.standardcollector.service start=demand
(see https://www.systemcamp.com/network-collection-agent-failed-to-start-in-ie-11-or-edge/)
It's definitely worth getting the latest updates.
There shouldn't be any special settings. The only special/different thing about the network and profiler tools are the two tools that weren't rebuilt in IE11 and were just themed. However they should most definitely work just fine. Though there are some timing bugs that can cause the tools to hang and crash :(. But, that doesn't seem to be happening for you.
I'm a bit of a loss as to make recommendations on how to fix the issue as we've not seen the issue before (I work on the F12 tools at Microsoft).
If you try a different user account does the same issue happen? Is it happening on all your machines or just one? Does it happen on all pages or just some? (try both an intranet and internet site.)
I created a new local account, logged into that account and that solved this problem for me. All of the tabs in the developer tools work and I can now dock the developer tools as well which I could never do before.
more info:
Not sure if this is the full answer but this appears to be related to settings on your computer more then IE itself. For whatever reason I could not change visual settings or apply themes or change the desktop wallpaper. I followed all the online setting changes for fixing those things. Basically it can be setting changes in group policies/registry settings that disable this. However I'm pretty sure at one point I had a virus on my computer and that destroyed my settings so there was no real undoing of all the damage that it had done. So creating a new account was my only answer.
I doubt this would fix the issue but just to make sure it is not being caused by an extension have you tried running IE without extensions?
from run: iexplore.exe -extoff
This happened to me and the answer was that my machine (win8.1) wasn't being patched per the group policy since the rest of the company's on win7 and the patches are controlled.
When I forced the update-- there's a link on the windows update dialog box that says "Check online for updates from Microsoft Update". I got a gig a of stuff to dl and installed it and we were fine after that.
NOTHING until then- wiping bits of the registry, uninstall ie11, reinstall, etc, worked.
Change the value data in DWORD "TabProcGrowth" that located in "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main" to 1. close and open IE11 .
For me, Network tab stopped working one day and following worked:
Restart Microsoft (R) Diagnostics Hub Standard Collector Service
Just close IE11 and all its tabs and reopen
