How to use the OS default theme as my app's theme? - xaml

I want to use the user's Windows 10 Mobile theme (dark or light) automatically in my app so my app is in line with the chose theme on the OS. How to do this?

Just remove the RequestedTheme="Light" attribute from your App.xaml file. If you do not set a RequestedTheme, then it will use the system theme by default.

The app should have a supported template list, contact the app support team.
Additionally, it seems your theme css it's overriding the app files. That's the reason why you shouldn't use unsupported themes unless you know what you are doing. Nevertheless, you can disable the theme css by creating a new layout file without the main css file in the header and only using the app css specific for that page.

Application icon in Notification Center is the default Mac icon

I use another image.icns as my applications icon file.
I've deleted ~/Library/Application Support/NotificationCenter/*.db and restarted my computer but the notification icon is still the default Mac icon for my application.
Stop your application from running in Xcode. Force quit the Notification Center process via Activity Monitor. Relaunch Notification Center and then launch your application. Your notifications should now display your application's icon you've provided in your AppIcon.appiconset.
Turns out you should probably keep your icons in an ".iconset". And have all the recommended sizes available for the notification center to pick up (e.g. might be 32 x 32, might be 16 x 16).
And to create this, you can use the "Icon Composer" app to convert your .icns file into a full blown icon set. The .icns file does end up in your built app package / bundle in the end, though.
Details can be found in Apple's "High Resolution Guidelines for OSX" document, under the "Create a set of icons that include high-resolution versions" section.
Archive your app, export it to your applications folder. When there is a copy of your app in Applications folder, notification icon is somehow visible. This worked in my case...

How to make built app with icon?

I'm writing an OSX App and added an icon for it.
After building in Xcode, I can see the app with icon under Products folder, but when I RightClick->'Show in Finder', the built file is shown without icon. I want the built file to have an icon.
For Mac OS applications, you need to create an .icns file and include it in your Info.plist just like any other project.
Just change icon.png to icon.icns
When I submit an icon image for my app, I never add the .icns extension. It is automatically assumed by the compiler. So for the icon file "icon.icns", simply enter "icon".
