Jwplayer 6.10 subtitle first line not appearing - jwplayer6

The closed captions lines that should display after a line that was empty aren't being rendered. For instance,
9
00:00:32,000 --> 00:00:36,833
10
00:00:36,833 --> 00:00:38,700
Good afternoon, Sir, how can I help you? -> not displaying
11
00:00:38,700 --> 00:00:43,633
Hello. -> displays OK
12
00:00:43,633 --> 00:00:45,766
13
00:00:45,766 --> 00:00:46,500
Oh, yeah, OK. -> not displaying
I tested this on Windows Media Player and it's working correctly, so it does seem to be a jwplayer related issue.
I found that if I add a space in the first empty line, the script works correctly, however this workaround isn't currently an option. This can be reproduced in all videos we're using, the captions are .srt files and use UTF-8. This is not a playlist. The code is just standard, and the .srt files are being retrieved from the URL.
Is there a way to get jwplayer to retrieve the first line of a subtitle/closed caption file? Thanks.

As subtitles can span multiple lines (and in accordance with the SRT file spec - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SubRip#SubRip_text_file_format) each subtitle is delimited by a blank line containing no text.
The fact Windows Media Player understands your file format doesn't make it a JW Player related issue - it just means WMP is more tolerant of badly formatted files.

Typo3 LTS9 PDF dimensions are not read and displayed in 0x0

I am having an issue with PDF's in the latest Typo3 release. If I add PDF to the Image content element, I get this:
The file info looks like this:
Checking the Image Processing Test of Typo3, no errors are returned. PDF/AI also seems to be fine.
I tested several PDF's and AI files as well, they won't show dimensions either.
I have the suspicion that the command 'identify' does not work within Typo3, it still returns perfect results from shell.
Any idea where to look?
multiple reasons possible:
you just need to reimport metadata (scheduler task)
your PDF is coded in an unsual format (there is more then one option in PDF to include the title image)
missing/wrong rights:
maybe another program is executed from commandline than from PHP.
maybe the file can't be accessed correctly from ghostscript started from web

Removing the blue resolution selector bar

This might sound a bit silly but I can't remove the bottom bar that allows you to select the device the website is being displayed on.
I understand i need to remove the unordered list from the index.html file and make the iframe that contains the store be the main focus, but even though i can indeed remove the list, the space that it occupied will still be there, just fully white. I'm using VirtoCommerce 1.13
Anyone got any ideas? Thank you!
Fixed it:
Comment the unordered list from the index.html that contains the screen size options.
Edit lines 5 and 8 in the main.js file that's under responsive>js to remove the '-47'.
That should do it.

Launch screens supporting iOS6 and iOS7 - forced to splash screen

When it comes to the launch screen I can't find a unifying way to mimic the look of the application on both iOS6 and iOS7 (supporting both). Are we forced to make a regular splash screen of a logo or similar if we have a toolbar menu or do you guys have any great ideas how to solve it?
Short answer
In iOS 7, an app can use a different launch image depending on which version of iOS it’s running in. To provide different launch images, add the UILaunchImages key to the Info.plist file and use a dictionary to describe each launch image.
Background
It uses the following keys:
UILaunchImageName - A string containing the name of the PNG image file. The image file must reside at the top level of the app bundle.
The name you specify for this key should not include a filename
extension, nor should it include modifiers such as #2x, -568h,
~iphone, or ~ipad.
On disk, your image filenames may still include the #2x, -568h,
~iphone, or ~ipad modifiers as appropriate, although they are not
required. The system automatically accounts for such modifiers when
choosing which file to load.
UILaunchImageMinimumOSVersion - for iOS7 this should be a string “7.0”.
UILaunchImageOrientation – String containing one of: Portrait, PortraitUpsideDown, Landscape, LandscapeLeft, LandscapeRight.
UILaunchImageSize – String specifying width and height, ex: “{320, 480}”. You must specify the width and height with respect to
the device in a portrait orientation. In other words, portrait and
landscape images targeting the same device would have the same width
and height.
If this key is present, iOS 7 uses it exclusively to obtain launch
images.
BUT: I found that sticking to the naming convention also for iOS7 helped a lot!
This key is supported in iOS 7.0 and later.
OK – so now what?
Because I already had launch images for iOS6 and with all their specific naming conventions. I chose to make a copy of all of them and prefix the name with ”iOS7-” so as to limit my own confusion about all the different sizes and names. Making a prefix should prove to come in handy as then most of the images would immediately be loaded correctly.
The filenames:
I had these for iOS6 already, I also list the file sizes for those in need:
Default.png (320x480)
Default#2x.png (640x960)
Default#2x~ipad.png (2048x1496)
Default~ipad.png (768x1004)
Default1024x768.png (1024x768)
Default1024x768#2x.png (2048x1536)
Default-568h#2x.png (640x1136)
Default768x1024.png (768x1024)
Default768x1024#2x.png (1536x2048)
Default-Landscape~ipad.png (1024x748)
Default-Portrait#2x~ipad.png (1536x2048)
So I made a copy of all of these filenames for iOS7 (same sizes) prefixing them with "iOS7-":
iOS7-Default.png
iOS7-Default#2x.png
...
In XCode
Now to create your entry in PLIST. Go to your-name-of-application.plist. In a blank area, right-click and choose ”Add Row”. Make sure it becomes a top item and not a sub-item of some other information in the .plist.
Write:
UILaunchImages
Right-click on this UILaunchImages and select value type ”Array”.
Use the illustration below as a guide to the text and for how it will look when it is all finished:
If you open up this array so the little indicator triangle to the left points down, it is empty the first time, but if you choose ”add row” while it is open it will create a sub-line. Do that now:
Right-click on the UILaunchImages and select ”Add row”.
Right-click on this new line (item 0) and select value type ”Dict”
Continue opening this items with the triangle indicator and right-click and ”Add row”
This item you will name UILaunchImageMinimumOSVersion and set value type to “string” and the string to “7.0”
Now the following are all strings and should be at the same level as the UILaunchImageMinimumOSVersion item. In the same dict (dictionary). Create these by just choosing “Add row” for each:
UILaunchImageName – base-name-of-iOS7-launch-image. In my case this was ”iOS7-Default”
UILaunchImageOrientation - example: Portrait
UILaunchImageSize - the size of the elementary base iOS7-Default.png: "{320, 480}". The program will find all the files with permutations of the base name. Remember to select the base name of the file without ipad/iphone/portrait/landscape or .png specifications.
Note:
Xcode had already made the following items in the .plist for me after first adding iOS6 images in all available slots :-)
UILaunchImageFile~ipad … = ”Default” – so this was OK
UILaunchImages~ipad … Had two items that needed to be updated to iOS7 versions, because they where now incorrectly holding the iOS6 version. Those I had named Default1024x768 and Default768x1024 and now I just prefixed ”iOS7-” to each of the names and I was done.
Example of how it may look for those wanting to edit plist directly:
<key>UILaunchImages</key>
<array>
<dict>
<key>UILaunchImageMinimumOSVersion</key>
<string>7.0</string>
<key>UILaunchImageName</key>
<string>iOS7-Default </string>
<key>UILaunchImageOrientation</key>
<string>Portrait</string>
<key>UILaunchImageSize</key>
<string>{320, 480}</string>
</dict>
</array>
[edit by jd: fixed spelling of "UILaunchImages"]
Highlight the project in the project browser, select "General", scroll down to "App Icons", click on "Use Asset Catalog", and select "Migrate". Your existing icons and splash screens will be automagically migrated into an asset catalog. You can then select the catalog to add further images.
To add new images you simply drag from Finder and drop into the squares for each image type.
(Caution: The catalog editor inexplicably uses a non-scrollable wide format, and you can be missing stuff off the right side if your screen isn't wide enough.)
You can also use the new image catalogue feature in Xcode 5 to manage multiple versions of launch images.
Now you can directly add the app icons and splash images in the images.xcassets,
Click on + button to add the respective image set for iphone5 with iOS 5,6,7 ,iphone4, iPad.
now no need to set the images name like default.png,default#2x.png
Be warned when using an images.xcassets repository it will not allow you to localize your splash screens.
I'm currently trying to get a French and English version of our app.
WWW> Will this 'plist' method work if you need to localize your splash screens?
I also had the same issue with an older app that I developed for iOS 7. It Archived and Uploaded fine with Xcode 6, but the "binary not optimized for iPhone5" error returned with Xcode 7. After trying a myriad of other solutions, I was only successful by removing all references to any Launch Image (since I was using a universal .xib) AND setting the deployment target from 7.0 to 8.0

video.js.map throwing a 404 (Not Found)

Playing around with the newest video.js today, I'm noticing that video.js.map is showing up as a 404 when putting the video.js script into a site that I'm working on.
I don't see a source map file in the initial distribution, but it doesn't throw this error locally, only when I put it on a server.
Ideas as to solving?
You have a few options when you don't have access to a source map:
Ignore the message. It generaly only gets thrown when your dev tools are open.
Remove the reference in the original file. These are the last characters (comments) at the end of the file.
Generate a source map yourself when you have access to the source code. For video.js, it can be generated from video.dev.js.
Use a public CDN version which might not link to the source map.
There also is a discussion on GitHub about this topic.
I get the same error, everything should still work though. I think it's an html5 or browser bug
I was seeing this as well, but only in my log files. I was getting three multi-line entries (failures) every time a video was played in my production.log in a RoR site. It was really bulking up my .log file. More info on #smhg's 2nd bullet (remove references). I'm using video.js 5.4.6 along with some vpad-vast plugin stuff - I could see all three files referenced in my .log file. Your mileage may vary.
Edit video.js and remove the following entry on line 19694:
//# sourceMappingURL=video.js.map
(for vpaid-vast plugin only...)
Edit videojs_5.vast.vpaid.min.js and remove this line from the very end:
//# sourceMappingURL=videojs_5.vast.vpaid.min.js.map
Edit videojs.vast.vpaid.min.css and remove this line from the very end:
/*# sourceMappingURL=videojs.vast.vpaid.min.css.map */
The entries are no longer appearing in my log file and the player works fine.
Hope it helps!

When using pdfpages in LaTeX, how to avoid page breaks before the first page ?

I am creating a large LaTeX document, and my appendix has reproductions of several booklets that I have as PDFs. I am trying to create a section header and then include the pages at a slightly lower scale. For example:
\section{Booklet about Yada Yada Yada}
\includepdf[pages={-}, frame=true, scale=0.8]{booklet_yadayada.pdf}
However, pdfpagex does two annoying things. First, it devotes one output document page for included document page. I can live with that as I am using 80% scale. The main problem, however, is that the first page is also a new page, so I have a page with just a section title, and then a separate page with the booklet.
Is there some way to get pdfpages to be a little smarter here?
\includepdf uses \includegraphics internally, so something like
\section{Foo}
\fbox{\includegraphics[page=1,scale=0.8]{foo.pdf}}
would include the page without starting a new one, although it only does one page at a time.
For me the following worked just fine:
\includepdf[pages=1,pagecommand=\section{Section Heading}]{testpdf}
\includepdf[pages=2-,pagecommand={}]{testpdf}
I tried this solution too, but \includepdf keeps the advantage of outputting the file over the margin (the output is centered from the edges of the page).
So I openned pdfpages.sty, and I searched for \newpage command. I deleted the first occurance (line 326), just to try, and after saving then compiling again, there were no page break anymore.
Use the minipage environement :
\chapter*{Sujet du stage}
%\fbox{
\begin{minipage}{\textwidth}
\includepdf[scale=0.8]{../sujet-stage/main.pdf}
\end{minipage}
It doesn't add any extra page and it works with includepdf.
Thanks for all the answers - I couldn't for the life of me figure out what logic \includepdf uses to insert blank pages; the trick with including the first page via \includegraphics solved most (but not all) of those problems; so here are some notes:
First, out of curiosity, I have also tried to use only \includepdf, but split in two parts:
\includepdf[pages=1]{MYINCLDOC.pdf}
\includepdf[pages=2-last]{MYINCLDOC.pdf}
... unfortunately, this has the same problem as the question in OP.
Since #WASE's answer, there are now multiple \newpages in the source (pdfpages.sty). I tried reading the source, but I found it quite difficult; so I tried temporarily setting \newpage to \relax only for \includepdf - and that puts all pages in the document on top of each other; so probably not a good idea to get rid of \newpage blindly.
Just \includegraphics[page=1,scale=0.8]{foo.pdf} works - but (as #WASE also note) it is aligned at the top-left corner of the page body, which is to say inside the margins; for a full page we'd want the pdf inclusion overlaid over the whole page, margins included.
This page: graphics - How do I add an image in the upper, left-hand corner using TikZ and graphicx - TeX - LaTeX points to several possibilities for positioning on page over the margins; but for me, the best solution for a full page PDF inclusion is to use package tikz to center it to the page:
\begin{tikzpicture}[remember picture,overlay]
\node at (current page.center) {\includegraphics[page=1]{MYINCLDOC.pdf}};
\end{tikzpicture}
\includepdf[pages=2-last]{MYINCLDOC.pdf}
After this is done, as a bonus, I have also experienced:
Proper targets of PDF bookmarks (going to the right page when clicked)
If you use package pax, the data seems to be included also for the \includegraphics standalone first page, so no difference there
If you have a twoside document - pdfpages, with the above split of the first page in \includegraphics, will now (seemingly) correctly insert the equivalent of \cleardoublepages between pdfs that are included back to back (so I don't have to insert such a command manually).
Hope this helps someone,
Cheers!
I'm a little late, but the following solution worked for me:
\includepdf[pages={-},angle=90, scale=0.7]{lorem-ipsum.pdf}
All pages are imported, scaled and rotated by 90 degrees.
Works with Texmaker 5.0.4
