IntelliJ System.out.println() - Cannot resolve method println(java.lang.String) - intellij-idea

I am using IntelliJ IDEA, learning Java. All went well until yesterday, when the mentioned error occurred.
I didn't make any changes. I was looking for the solution the following ways:
reboot the pc
restart IntelliJ.
delete the project directory and use another one (both on desktop)
nothing helps. buy running simple hello world method. It keeps showing this error:
Is there someone able to help me?

ok, is solved.
file -> invalidated caches / Restart

One reason for this to happen is if you have print statement somewhere on the body of the class, and not inside a method.
Here is an example:
But if the print is inside a method, it should work fine.
Here is an example:

I think if you have tried the method above, maybe you can consider where you use System.out.println() because this method should only used in main(String args[]){},the latest version of the Idea is OK. I wish what said can help you.

If you have orcale sdk configured as your project sdk there is no way System.out.println can't be found - besides you are using another System.out.
So my guess is that you don't have a proper project sdk configured.
Goto to Project Settings or press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S, go to Project Settings -> Project and check if your sdk is setup correctly.

In my case my project was set up to Java 6th and I had installed jre1.8.0_131 which I assume was causing the problem. After changing Java to level 8 problem have been solved.
Press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+s or go to File -> Project Structure -> Project, and set Project Language Level to yours.

case 1: if all sdk setup is complete and perfect
then
file -> invalidated caches / Restart
this could work
case 2 : if something missing in sdk setup of intelij
then goto
1.file->project structure->libraries
2.click on + button
3. add location of lib folder of tomcat directory
C:\xampp\tomcat\lib
to add lib directory to tomcat

import static java.lang.System.out;
Or do you possibly have more than one class named System?
Or possibly this link could be of use to you.

Just make sure that your SDK in the setting of INTELIJI is set up have a look here
I had that problem because I pulled the repository from work where we have java 8, but on my private computer, I have 17..

Kotlin Multiplatform issue : Type 'org.gradle.api.tasks.Copy' property 'sign' doesn't have a configured value

I am trying to build a KMM project everything works fine in Android also in iOS simulator but when I connect an iOS device I get the below error .
FAILURE: Build failed with an exception.
What went wrong:
A problem was found with the configuration of task ':shared:embedAndSignAppleFrameworkForXcode' (type 'Copy').
Type 'org.gradle.api.tasks.Copy' property 'sign' doesn't have a configured value.
Reason: This property isn't marked as optional and no value has been configured.
Possible solutions:
Assign a value to 'sign'.
Mark property 'sign' as optional.
Please refer to https://docs.gradle.org/7.4.1/userguide/validation_problems.html#value_not_set for more details about this problem.
My gradle wrapper properties has 7.4.1, I have used 7.2 version as well same issue.
If anyone can tell me how to resolve this gradle issue to get the framework library ready for iOS project it will be very helpful thanks.
Meanwhile I ll try to figure out myself will update if I find any solution.
Looks like you are missing EXPANDED_CODE_SIGN_IDENTITY. Xcode sets this variable if you select an iOS device. For a simulator In my case, it sets it to -.
Kotlin multiplatform plugin requires this variable to be set for embedAndSignAppleFrameworkForXcode to work properly here.
I think updating Xcode may help. alternatively, you can set EXPANDED_CODE_SIGN_IDENTITY to - if it is not defined.
To do this just update your run script phase:
: "${EXPANDED_CODE_SIGN_IDENTITY:=-}"
./gradlew :shared:embedAndSignAppleFrameworkForXcode
Hopefully, it will help.
The answer is that you need go to 'Build Settings' -> 'Code Signing Identify' and make sure that you have a signing certificate set. You'll need to make sure you have a Team selected in 'Signing & Capabilities' as well.

Not able to add implementation 'com.google.android.libraries.places:places:2.2.0'

I am trying to add Places SDK for android.
I am following the following documentation
https://developers.google.com/places/android-sdk/start and
https://developers.google.com/places/android-sdk/client-migration
Unfortunately i am not able to add dependency "implementation 'com.google.android.libraries.places:places:2.2.0'"
I have gone through following links. But no use. Please help me with this.
Failed to resolve: com.google.android.libraries.places:1.0.0:
Google's new Places Library ( implementation 'com.google.android.libraries.places:1.0.0') not resolving
Finally i found solution to my issue.
I solved it by installing the compatibility library.
Followed this. https://developers.google.com/places/android-sdk/client-migration
Following two steps resolved my issue.
Copy the contents of places_compat_compatify.sh, and save as a file to your local computer.
Use the following command to run the compatibility script
./places_compat_compatify.sh 2.1.0
After this, I could run my project successfully and could Place API.
Thanks

Error: Cannot find entry file ./node_modules/react-native-scripts/build/bin/crna-entry.js in any of the roots:

I keep receiving this error when running my App.js for React Native that was working perfectly well before I attempted installing Victory charts. Somehow something broke and after over three hours of work I am unable to figure out a solution. I have tried everything I could find on the web including uninstalling watchman, reinstalling watchman, reverting to React Native 0.55.4, some other recommended commands. Nothing is working.I am so confused.
$ yarn add react-native-scripts
This helped.
I think the other library may hurt the installation part of your package. To solve this issue on IOS you need to add its library like below:
First do 'yarn add react-native-scripts'. In the case that it dose't work continue other steps.
1-Go to the node module of your project and find the package folder and find the ios file inside it.
2- Then drag it into ‘library’ section of your xcode. (It is the subset of your project folders)
3- Then go to ‘build phase’ and in the ‘Link binary with libraries’ add it there by clicking on the plus sign
4- Then in some cases you need to add the correct path of the ios file inside your node module in the xcode. To do that you should go to ‘build setting’ section in the xcode and search header there. Then you need to add the path there below other paths.
5- Then clear everything (cmd+shift+k) and then finally compile it.
I hope it works for you.
In my case the "crna-entry.js" file does exist in the roots and my project should work (nothing have been modified from last time when it does work).
After hours searching, finally I figured out the reason:
the packager's directory checking is case-sensitive and in windows terminal the drive "c:/" will not be auto-corrected to "C:/" which will lead to error.
Hope this will help someone who gets the same error.
Below is the full error message:
The development server returned response error code:404 Cannot find

Kotlin - Error: Could not find or load main class _DefaultPackage

I followed the Kotlin tutorial for eclipse here : Getting Started With Eclipse Luna
However, I'm running into this error:
Error: Could not find or load main class _DefaultPackage
Anyone who knows to get around this?
This was a severe bug (KT-10221) in automatic generation of Launch Configuration in plugin version 0.4.0. It was fixed in 0.5.0 so the recommendend way to workaround is to update plugin.
The source of the problem was that the plugin used an old pattern for generating name of the class for main function that had been abandoned by Kotlin compiler.
It's possible to workaround it by editing launch configuration (Eclipse Menu -> Run -> Run Configurations...) by hand and changing Main class field in Java Application group. If the file is named hello.kt with no package directive, as it is described in tutorial, than corrected string should be HelloKt.
If file has name other.kt with package my.tutorial than the Main Class should contain my.tutorial.HelloKt. You can read more about it in the section Package-Level Functions of Calling Kotlin From Java page.
I have been getting the same issue. And after putting the right compiler output path, it got resolved.
Go to Project -> Project Compiler output :
In the text box, fill this:
[Absolute Path]/{Project Name}/out
In my case I was having this problem while trying to run the program using the Application Gradle plugin. The problem was in the mainClassName property using single quotes instead of double ones
This didn't work:
mainClassName = 'demo.HelloWorldKt'
With double quotes, it works:
mainClassName = "demo.HelloWorldKt"
For me it worked after I installed the correct JDK. I first had JDK 11 but the tutorial I did was with JDK 8 so after I installed this and set it in the "installed JREs" options it found the main class without having any "mainClassName" or any other option in the build.gradle file.
For me, it worked in a fresh eclipse workspace. Possibly, the Kotlin eclipse plugin is not playing well with other plugins (in my case, PyDev).
I'm creating a Kotlin Application with JavaFX and I had this issue until I went to:
Run > Run Configurations > Java Application > Common
I unticked "Allocate console" and it fixed the issue.

Cannot resolve method 'ok(?)' with Play 2 Framework in Intellij

I have been trying to get play set up in IntelliJ for hours but I can't get it to work correctly.
I continuously get this error: http://imgur.com/MYY8fXI
I have tried create a project though the terminal with:
play new
and then using the terminal to create the idea files with
idea with-sources=yes
I have also installed the play 2 plugin and used it to create the project, but I get the same error.
I am able to use the plugin I downloaded to successfully run the app and view it in my browser, but I keep getting the
Cannot resolve method 'ok(?)' error.
edit: I am using OSX, and have the ultimate version of Intellij.
edit 2: I have made a little progress. If I import the view directly using import views.html.index; it gets rid of the errors on the application. However, if I use import views.html.*; it results in the errors. Any ideas?
At the time of this writing, it seems that play2 support in IntelliJ 13 Ultimate has some minor problems...
How I did solve the issues:
1) Navigate to your project director and start your play console (play.bat / play.sh should be on the PATH)
2) enter command 'compile' in your play console
3) enter command 'idea" in your play console
4a) in case your IntelliJ project was alread open, IntelliJ will detect the changes and suggest to reload the project. Confirm you want to reload
4b) in case IntelliJ was not running, open the project by File | Open... and select your project Directory.
These steps should resolve your issue.
Does it help to make sure that play has compiled the templates to class files, 'run' + open in browser or 'compile'?
