I have the following 2 queries that are almost identical except the second query contains a table join, where clause and has less FAXDEPTs(the commented out portion is included in Query 2 just shared the one query to make easier to read).
I want to join the two queries by FAXDEPT and have the results look something like this,
FAXDEPT| TOTAL DOCUMENTS(Query1)|TOTAL PAGES (Query1)|TOTAL DOCUMENTS(Query2)|TOTAL PAGES (Query2)
Query 1 contains more FAXDEPTs than Query2. Is there a way I can display "0"s for Query 2 TOTAL PAGES and TOTAL DOCS
I'm assumed I would do some sort of FUll OUTER JOIN but can't seem to get it to work. Not sure if using alias is part of my issue or not. I appreciate all the help in advance!

I'd like to add a field to this query that provides me with the sum of a field in another table (FS) with a few criteria applied.
I've been able to build a stand alone query to get the sum of FS by ID_T as follows:

I now want to match up the sum of FS from the second query to the records of the first query by ID_T. I realise I need to do this using a sub query. I'm confident using these when there's only one table but I consistently get 'syntax errors' when there are joins.
I simplified the first query down to remove all the WHERE conditions so it was easier for me to try and error check but no luck. I guess the resulting SQL will also be easier for you guys to follow:

It's difficult to advise an appropriate solution without knowledge of how the database tables relate to one another, but assuming that I've correctly understood what you are looking to achieve, you might wish to try the following solution:

Instead of trying to perform the subtraction within the scope of the CTE, I just had to place it into the sub query which was using this particular CTE, in the main select list.
The Problem was, `InnerOQLI.FreePlaceCount is not being recognized, since it hasn't been defined within the scope of the CTE and is only being used in the Exists statement.

This is the first time I've used CTE's, I've joined multiple CTE's together so that I can retrieve an overall total in a single column.

Without going into to much detail, this brings back incorrect data because of repeated rows in the main query. (I believe it cos of the same joins within the main query)

You can see where I've attempted to perform the subtraction, but It doesn't recognize InnerOQLI, where I've tried to add it to perform the subtraction. I can't work out how to correct this, I realize that it cant fully recognize the InnerOQLI since it's in the Exists statement, Is there away around this? If anyone could help I'd appreciate it

It looks like your "d.name" reference might be incorrect as the "d" alias is on your Inner query vs d1 in your OUTER query... Maybe that should be a "d1.name", but you should also include your left-outer join (+) reference by the document ID too otherwise you will have a Cartesian result.

But, to better offer an answer, I will try to answer by writing what I THINK you are looking for, then a query to get that. Since you are looking for the maximum "mrs.no", this would imply you want a JOIN and not a left-join via Oracle's syntax of (+)=, but for a specific product, document type and unit. Once that has been found, get every document name associated with the materials route.

Without applying a join condition on your outer documents "d1" alias, you WILL get a Cartesian result set.
I have a big SELECT statement which has many nested selects in it. When I run it, it gives me an ORA-22813 error:
Ora-22813:- The Collection value from one of the inner sub queries has exceeded the system limits and hence this error.

Some quick hits that may or may not solve your problem (for better help, I need better information) --
Are you sure you mean OUTER join? Outer joining students to courses means students who are not taking any courses will still be around. Is that the desired behaviour?
Don't select * if you only want a limited subset of the columns. Enumerate the exact columns you need. The rest might not seem like much on a row-by-row basis, but when you multiply by the total number of rows you have, this sort of thing can mean the difference between in-memory sorts and spilling to disk.
How many rows of data are you looking at? there are times when separate queries with programmatic aggregation can work better. Someone with more knowledge of Oracle query optimization may be able to help, also, tweaking the settings could help here too...
I've had instances where a sproc was being called that aggregated data from more than one source took exponentially longer than two calls in the app, and putting it together in memory.
Post DDL of your tables and exact plan of the query.
Meanwhile, try increasing pga_aggregate_target, sort_area_size and hash_area_size
