I am having a hard time figuring out why this isn't working.
I have put the image property to "Content" also and still nothing.
Here is my code:
<Window xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"
xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"
Title="Window1" Width="744.09448819" Height="1052.3622047">
<Canvas xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" Name="svg2" Width="744.09448819" Height="1052.3622047">
<Rectangle xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Width="726" Height="577" Name="rect3336" Fill="#FFECECEC"/>
<Ellipse Canvas.Left="10" Width="263" Canvas.Top="10" Height="137" Name="path3340" Visibility="Visible">
<Ellipse.Fill>
<ImageBrush ImageSource="Images/1.PNG"/>
</Ellipse.Fill>
</Ellipse>
<TextBlock Name="my_TB" Width="{Binding ElementName=path3340, Path=Width}"
Height="49" TextAlignment="Center" Foreground="Black"
Text="Avatar" Canvas.Left="10" Canvas.Top="53" FontSize="36"/>
<Ellipse xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Canvas.Left="218" Width="266" Canvas.Top="152" Height="143" Name="ellipse2" Fill="#FFFF00FF" MouseDown="ellipse2_MouseDown"/>
<Ellipse xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Canvas.Left="404" Width="266" Canvas.Top="300" Height="143" Name="ellipse3" Fill="#FFFF00FF" MouseDown="ellipse3_MouseDown"/>
</Canvas>
</Window>
If I change it to this, it works:
<Window xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"
xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"
Title="Window1" Width="744.09448819" Height="1052.3622047">
<Canvas xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" Name="svg2" Width="744.09448819" Height="1052.3622047">

<Ellipse Canvas.Left="10" Width="263" Canvas.Top="10" Height="137" Name="path3340" Fill="#FFFF00FF" MouseDown="ellipse_MouseDown">
</Ellipse>
<TextBlock Name="my_TB" Width="{Binding ElementName=path3340, Path=Width}"
Height="49" TextAlignment="Center" Foreground="Black"
Text="Avatar" Canvas.Left="10" Canvas.Top="53" FontSize="36"/>
<Ellipse xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Canvas.Left="218" Width="266" Canvas.Top="152" Height="143" Name="ellipse2" Fill="#FFFF00FF" MouseDown="ellipse2_MouseDown"/>
<Ellipse xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Canvas.Left="404" Width="266" Canvas.Top="300" Height="143" Name="ellipse3" Fill="#FFFF00FF" MouseDown="ellipse3_MouseDown"/>
</Canvas>
</Window>

So I've been struggeling with this really badly and I don't understant any of the found "answers"... I have a menu which I want to use on multiple pages, but not all of them. So I have an "index" page with a splitview in it, to have a menu on the side and the content on the right. But I want to be able to "include" the menu, to be able to edit just one file and not to write in every page the menu again... Below you can find my code of one page;
<Page
x:Class="RittensportRekenSoftware.Views.Index"
xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"
xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"

mc:Ignorable="d"
Background="{ThemeResource ApplicationPageBackgroundThemeBrush}" RequestedTheme="Dark">
<SplitView x:Name="MySplitView" DisplayMode="CompactOverlay" IsPaneOpen="False" CompactPaneLength="50" OpenPaneLength="150">

<StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal">

Width="50" Height="50" Background="Transparent"/>
<TextBlock Text="Button 1" FontSize="18" VerticalAlignment="Center" />
</StackPanel>
<StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal">
<Button x:Name="MenuButton2" FontFamily="Segoe MDL2 Assets" Content=""
Width="50" Height="50" Background="Transparent"/>
<TextBlock Text="Button 2" FontSize="18" VerticalAlignment="Center" />
</StackPanel>
<StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal">
<Button x:Name="MenuButton3" FontFamily="Segoe MDL2 Assets" Content=""

<TextBlock Text="Button 3" FontSize="18" VerticalAlignment="Center" />

Now, It would be great to have something like "include menu" that gets the content from a file in Views.Layouts.Menu.xaml, except I have no idea how such file should be made and how to include.
Kindest regards
Robin

Making a UserControl was on the right dirction. Please follow my following step to have a try:
Right click your project - Add - New Item - Select User Control
Copy your code into this UserControl XAML page like the following:
<UserControl
x:Class="AppSplit.MyUserControl1"
xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"
xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"
xmlns:local="using:AppSplit"
xmlns:d="http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2008"
xmlns:mc="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/markup-compatibility/2006"
mc:Ignorable="d"
d:DesignHeight="300"
d:DesignWidth="400">
<SplitView x:Name="MySplitView" DisplayMode="CompactOverlay" IsPaneOpen="False" CompactPaneLength="50" OpenPaneLength="150">
<SplitView.Pane>
<!-- Here will the menu be included, so we don't have to re-render it every time again and it's changeable from withing one file -->
<StackPanel Background="#202225" RequestedTheme="Dark">
<Button x:Name="HamburgerButton" FontFamily="Segoe MDL2 Assets" Content="" Width="50" Height="50" Background="Transparent" Click="HamburgerButton_Click"/>
<StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal">
<Button x:Name="MenuButton1" FontFamily="Segoe MDL2 Assets" Content=""
Width="50" Height="50" Background="Transparent"/>
<TextBlock Text="Button 1" FontSize="18" VerticalAlignment="Center" />
</StackPanel>
<StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal">
<Button x:Name="MenuButton2" FontFamily="Segoe MDL2 Assets" Content=""
Width="50" Height="50" Background="Transparent"/>
<TextBlock Text="Button 2" FontSize="18" VerticalAlignment="Center" />
</StackPanel>
<StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal">
<Button x:Name="MenuButton3" FontFamily="Segoe MDL2 Assets" Content=""
Width="50" Height="50" Background="Transparent"/>
<TextBlock Text="Button 3" FontSize="18" VerticalAlignment="Center" />
</StackPanel>
</StackPanel>
</SplitView.Pane>
<SplitView.Content>
<Grid>
<TextBlock Text="Content here :D" FontSize="54" Foreground="Black" HorizontalAlignment="Center" VerticalAlignment="Center"/>
</Grid>
</SplitView.Content>
</SplitView>
</UserControl>
public sealed partial class MyUserControl1 : UserControl
{
public MyUserControl1()
{
this.InitializeComponent();
}
private void HamburgerButton_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e)
{
MySplitView.IsPaneOpen = MySplitView.IsPaneOpen == true ? false : true;
}
}
If you want to include this UserControl on other XAML pages, you could do like the following:
<Page
x:Class="AppSplit.MainPage"
xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"
xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"
xmlns:local="using:AppSplit"
xmlns:d="http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2008"
xmlns:mc="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/markup-compatibility/2006"
mc:Ignorable="d"
Background="{ThemeResource ApplicationPageBackgroundThemeBrush}">
<local:MyUserControl1></local:MyUserControl1>
</Page>
After using MahApp Metro formy project in WPF I encountered a problem I can't solve. the framework works fine except when I am using the NumericUpDown control.
I can see this control onto my UserControl while I'am working on it. But at the compilation the code then becomes :
The tag 'NumericUpDown' does not exist in XML namespace "http://metro.mahapps.com/winfx/xaml/controls". Line 75 Position 26.
With my XAML code it could perhaps help :

I could provide more information if it can be useful.
When I first started developing everything was fine but then started up the project for the second time got this error. Since there is an error in the xaml the preview of the design layout never shows so I'm working blindly here.
Did some research, where this individual had the exact problem as me but I tried their solution but it didn't work for me maybe because they were working with Windows Phone 7.1 and Im working with 8. Here's the link: VS Developer Express for Windows Phone new project shows XamlParseException
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have added WP-toolkit to my project, the pages' animation and the LLS tilt effect is working, but not the Turnstile effect. Instead of animating each list items separately, it animates the whole page at the same time. This is my xaml:

I've tried it both on simple and pivot pages, and it still don't work. What is the problem?
You are using "regular" turnstile transition instead of feathered one. Change it to this.
<toolkit:TransitionService.NavigationInTransition>
<toolkit:NavigationInTransition>
<toolkit:NavigationInTransition.Backward>
<toolkit:TurnstileFeatherTransition Mode="BackwardIn"/>
</toolkit:NavigationInTransition.Backward>
<toolkit:NavigationInTransition.Forward>
<toolkit:TurnstileFeatherTransition Mode="ForwardIn"/>
</toolkit:NavigationInTransition.Forward>
</toolkit:NavigationInTransition>
</toolkit:TransitionService.NavigationInTransition>
<toolkit:TransitionService.NavigationOutTransition>
<toolkit:NavigationOutTransition>
<toolkit:NavigationOutTransition.Backward>
<toolkit:TurnstileFeatherTransition Mode="BackwardOut"/>
</toolkit:NavigationOutTransition.Backward>
<toolkit:NavigationOutTransition.Forward>
<toolkit:TurnstileFeatherTransition Mode="ForwardOut"/>
</toolkit:NavigationOutTransition.Forward>
</toolkit:NavigationOutTransition>
</toolkit:TransitionService.NavigationOutTransition>
I want to make a control displaying three bitmap like this :
My problem is that I don't want to have fixed "Width" and "Height" for bitmap. They must take all available space where they are and keeping their aspects.
When I'am designing it with Blend, the designer always put fixed size....

How can I do that ? Thank for any help
Image.Stretch property can be helpful http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.windows.controls.image.stretch.aspx.
