How to test an unreleased version of the app using branch.io? - branch.io

So i want to test an unreleased version of the app for deferred deep links. How do i do it? As the changes made will not be there in the app i download from the play store after redirecting.

Alex from Branch.io here: this is pretty easy to do! On your Branch dashboard under Settings -> Link Settings -> Android, select Custom URL, and put in the information requested.
Alternatively, you can delete the app from your phone, open the link, install a side-loaded build of the app (directly from Android Studio), and then manually launch the app. You'll still be deep linked to the correct place.

Expo uses old code even though new code has been deployed

I have a react-native app that is using Expo.
In the beginning of the project I pushed some code to the default publishing channel that was never intended to be used in production.
Since then I have released dozens of versions to production and mostly all works as expected. (New installs gets the latest JS code)
However, a few users still gets old versions of the code, even though they literally just downloaded the app from App Store / Google Play.
This is extremely frustrating. How can I make sure that fresh downloads of the app will download the correct/latest version och my JS?
Note that this is not related to the app detecting new code that might be available for download. It is the fact that the wrong code is downloaded and used to begin with. Is there any way to remove all JS-code except the very last version that I published? I imagine that would solve my issue

This is what expo gives as a feature known as Over the Air updates (OTA). Whenever a new version is built with expo channel, it automatically updates even in the app store and play store. But there is a way to disable the updates. the expo documentation for disabling:
It is possible to entirely disable OTA JavaScript updates in a standalone app, by setting updates.enabled to false in app.json. This will ignore all code paths that fetch app bundles from Expo's servers. In this case, all updates to your app will need to be routed through the iOS App Store and/or Google Play Store.
This setting is ignored in the Expo client.
And I do recommend you to read the documents of OTA, which is a good feature when you get to know all of it.

Cannot add new app through android studio plugin

I followed all instructions on this link https://fabric.io/kits/android/crashlytics/install but I still cannot see my app in the dashboard. This was never an issue for me before.
Clicking on the +New App only brings me to selecting which kits to use.
Then when trying to distribute it says project is inactive..
The project is definitely not inactive..
How do I fix this?

Deploy app onto a real device and get rid of local-dev-server dependence

Currently, I can successfully deploy the app onto my iPhone device.
However, the app is rely on local-dev-server.
How could I get rid of the local-dev-server?

Building an app for distribution in the App Store requires using the Release scheme in Xcode. Apps built for Release will automatically disable the in-app Developer menu, which will prevent your users from inadvertently accessing the menu in production. It will also bundle the JavaScript locally, so you can put the app on a device and test whilst not connected to the computer.
To configure your app to be built using the Release scheme, go to Product → Scheme → Edit Scheme. Select the Run tab in the sidebar, then set the Build Configuration dropdown to Release.
you just need to select the Release scheme on the run configuration in xCode and hit the run button.

Fabric.io: new app does not show up in the dashboard

For some reason we needed to change the package-id of our existing android application. We already use Fabric for Crashlytics.
I'm trying to bring that new app up in the Fabric dashboard, but it's not showing there, despite the device log showing no issues (as fas as I can see): device log
Any ideas why the new package-id isn't visible in our dashboard?

I experienced a very similar issue to this when building an app with multiple flavours. The solution is to manually specify the package name, and not let Fabric try to automatically grab it, as it tries very hard to "stick" your old package name.
There is a full post available (disclaimer: my site), but essentially you need to use:

Make sure to include all dependencies on their dedicated gradle.build and meta in manifest file. Next is to throw a force runtime error on your device with internet connection also do not forget to initialize it first with Fabric.with(this,new Crashlytics()). If this doesn't work try to download and install Fabric for Android plugin in Android Studio, restart the IDE and you will see a fabric icon above. Start it and select your package name.
I had the exact same problem, in the log I clearly see that the Crashlytics is in use.

But I cannot see my project on the dashboard, and always redirect to the tutorial.
After a Build-Clean and an Android studio restart, build and run the app again to my phone, and voilá, it finds itself. Now working, without any change.
I have the same problem. After hours of researches I resolve this for my application.
First: After adding new flavour, I make changes in Firebase console (added new app in existing project, with production SHA1, changed google-services.json).
After that app does not show in fabric dashboard and fabric plugin in Android Studio. Problem was resolved after linking new app in crashlitycs in firebase console. And after that check your roles, must have Owner role (on Firebase Console Project).

Problems with TestFlightApp

I'm developing iOS apps and I'd like to share my apps with TestFlight testers. This is not the problem and works fine (via email). However, when I'm uploading a new build, I'd like to have in-app updates.
The SDK describes this as being possible, but I don't see anything from an update in my app.
I closed the app from "Multitasking".
I added the SDK to my project and in the AppDelegate my TeamToken, Checkpoints, etc. work fine.
Any ideas?
On testflight, have you enabled the force upgrade? (Your Application -> Build -> Build information -> Forced upgrades)
Also please make sure that the activity report is showing your session when you start your app.
