I am really new to this stuff. I have read online but cant figure out how to setup everything properly.
I have a domain from Bluehost
mydomain***.com
with nameserver
Default Nameservers
ns1.bluehost.com 74.220.195.31
ns2.bluehost.com 69.89.16.4
I have a dedicated hardware device with static ip 20.x.x.x.
Now on the first step it asks for a hostname.
In /etc/hosts its
mydomain***.com
Should I give the same hostname here ?
Second in the third page NAMESERVERS what should I use. Should I be using the nameserver from bluehost?
I am really confused about this so If someone can guide me.
You can set " Server.domain.com " as a server hostname and nameserver ns1 and ns2.domain.com.
Once you setup ns1 and ns2.domain.con, you will have to register this nameserver at your domain control panel with your server IP's

There's a website example.com served at 1.2.3.4

I'm currently trying to set my Apache configuration on ubuntu server. I have one IP(ex: 34.228.1xx.xx) and one domain(ex: mydomain.com).
I succeed to connect "Apache2 Ubuntu Default page" using IP 34.228.1xx.xx
Then I added 34.228.1xx.xx mydomain.com in hosts file(/etc/hosts) and restarted apache using this command sudo service apache2 restart
But I can't see "Apache2 Ubuntu Default page" using domain mydomain.com, but I still can connect it using IP 34.228.1xx.xx
This is my first web hosting I know my question is messed.

0.0.0.0 is not a port, it's an IP. And it is a special one which shouldn't go to /etc/hosts. Remove it.
To access Apache on the local machine (on the same on which Apache is running), use "127.0.0.1" or "localhost" as host name in your browser.
On all other machines, use either the machine's IP or its DNS name.
Of course, you have to ensure that the DNS name is pointing to the right IP. This should be a public IP (not something like 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x etc.) If you haven't done so already, you must register this name with your DNS hosting provider as a DNS "A" record.
Additional points to consider:
Firewall on Apache machine must be open for incoming traffic on ports tcp/80 and/or tcp/443
If your server is behind NAT, there must be a "forwarding" rule on the NAT machine
I am trying to create a third-level domain virtual host on my server. I hope the configs are set up correctly, but I am getting a ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED error.
I have read that I have to "add DNS entry" somewhere so that the name would get resolved, but how do I do that? Where do I do that? The server is running on Ubuntu .
I suppose you get that ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED error from Chrome. This means that Chrome is unable to find the subdomain in DNS.
You are correct, registering your subdomain in DNS will require DNS changes. Specifically, you have to add a DNS A resource record for your subdomain to become "visible" to browsers over IPv4. For IPv6, add an AAAA, too. Both record types point to an IP address and it will be the IP address of your web server. (Technically, you can also use a CNAME type record, but make sure to read up on how that works.)
Subdomain DNS will be served by the authoritative DNS servers for your domain, so you can register the required record(s) through your DNS service provider. If you are not sure who they are, look up the NS records for your domain, this will give you the list of authoritative name servers for your domain and you can work from there.
I understand you have already configured your Apache to work with the subdomain, so setting up DNS completes the setup process.
from default httpd.conf to updating the host file and httpd.conf i tried but the website fails to open with domain name give
in host file
<my current public ip address> <domain name>
in httpd.conf
Listen [my public ip]:port
then restart of wamp server and finally restart of PC and of-course change of ip is done in above all.
But of no use

I think you are misunderstanding the function of the HOSTS file.
The hosts file acts a little like a local DNS Server. Any changes you make to it will only effect the single PC that you made the change on.
What the HOST file actually does
When windows starts it starts a service called DNS Client also known as dnscache. That service reads the HOSTS file and seeds the dnscache with any domain names you put in it and the ip that should be connected to for each domain name.
Any program (the browser in this case) that wants to connect to a domain, checks this cache first, to reduce accesses to an actual DNS Server out on the web and therefore speed up the conversion of domain name to Ip Address.
So if you want external users, i.e. anybody on the internet to be able to access your site you have to either purchase a real domain name and get it pointed to your WAN ip address, or use a Dynamic DNS service like DYNDNS or NO-IP, to mention only a few, and get that dynamic dns service to point to your WAN IP.
You will also have to change your Apache config so it will serve that domain name, my suggestion would be to create a Virtual Host to do this.

I have a VPS with a single IP address and with Virtualmin/Webmin installed. I have created a virtual host *example.com *that will answer to www.example.com (the domain already points to the IP address of the VPS). However, when I access www.example.com I am not seeing the website I have uploaded for example.com but rather the default server:

Yes, you will need to configure DNS for your www.* site if it has not been done already. This www.* alias may have been created automatically when you set up the domain in DNS, but perhaps you will need to specify it explicitly.
Seeing the message "It works!" is a common issue. Apache has a default virtual host which you may want to disable. Exactly how to do that depends on the platform of your web server (it's a good idea to mention the platform and version when asking questions).
For example, if you have shell access to a Debian or Ubuntu machine, you can use the command:
sudo a2dissite default
In virtualmin there may also be an option for this, see for example http://www.virtualmin.com/node/15854
Once you have DNS set up and the www.* domain responding correctly to pings with IP of your server, you will also need to make sure that the virtual host definition for your site includes the www.* alias.
