DNG gives me original picture not the edited one - photoshop

When we use UFraw or other programs based on DCRAW we get the original picture, not the edited one.
When our photograffer takes a picture in DNG.
Afterwards edits on this picture are done with photoshop or Lightroom.
Picture is saved again in DNG.
When I open the picture the new picture in UFRaw I see the original picture.
How can I avoid this

You cannot. The edits in Lightroom are not done on the source image but saved as editing steps in the XMP (non-destructive editing). You could read the XMP-data but it won't help you, since you cannot re-apply the LR editing steps.
If you want to work on the edited picture, you will have to ask your photographer to export a TIFF from LR and use that instead of the DNG.

DNGs can contain a full size JPEG version of the image showing the adjustments. Not all DNGs have this, as it optional. It is possible to extract the preview from the DNG if it exists. This is clearly outlined in the DNG spec.
Note that even if a preview does exist, it does not necessarily reflect the current state of the image settings, since updating the embedded preview is also optional.

How to edit Contents in pdf in edge

Actually I got a pdf file today and it's contents are a mess, and the file is way too huge to go through page-by-page to find the required data, is there anyway I can edit the content like:
Chapter - 1
Be sure to check this page!
remember this point!
or even like the following would work:
Chapter - 1
Chapter - 2
please help me out
Do you mean you want to edit the title of the contents highlighted in the picture below?
If yes, it is not possible to edit those contents for a PDF file using the Edge browser.
We can only use the options mentioned in the picture below to draw or highlight something on the PDF file. We can use an eraser to remove the drew or highlighted part. [Note: We cant use these options for the table of contents.]

I've got the solution for anyone having the same problem as mine, to edit, merge, or split pdfs anyone can consider using 'Wondershare PDFelement' it's a really cool app with tons of features that I found out while searching for solutions for my problem. The app has a really cool interface and you can add, edit or delete bookmarks and save the changes. The free version has limited features and also leaves a watermark but I am ok with it, however you can always buy the pro version.
Thanks.

Automatically remove all PDF content outside a crop area

For a deck of lecture slides, I have extracted several vector illustrations from a PDF-file. I did this by highlighting the relevant area in Preview.app, copying, and opening a new file from the clipboard.
The figures look just fine, even though I noticed that the files are a little large. When I open them in Illustrator, I can see what's described in the screenshot – that all of the page content is still there, it's just hidden because it lies outside the crop area.
Now I could simply remove everything except the relevant figures in Illustrator, but I would much rather automate the process, since I have a large number of figures.
How can I automate this process such that everything outside the crop area is discarded and everything inside it is preserved as a vector image?
You can use redact utility to remove the content.
Just go to https://doxiview.cib.de/showcase/index.html?locale=default
Choose redact tool
upload your PDF
Choose on the right Select Area and redact fill color as white
Mark all content, which you want to remove
click on apply
download PDF
Afterwards you can crop the PDF and you won't have the content being still there.
There's no need to rasterize. Just crop the pages then use Acrobat DC to "Sanitize" the document. That will completely remove any non-visible parts of the file.
In Acrobat Pro, go to Preflight and select the setting below.
Then click edit to the right
You should be able to create Adobe droplets with this preflight setting for automation

Workaround for inlineshape.LinkFormat.Update

I am writing a Word 2007 document with a lot of images that are sure to change before the document is delivered. Therefore, I am inserting them in the document as links to PNG files. My problem is that if I select the image and execute:
Selection.InlineShapes(1).LinkFormat.Update
MsgBox Selection.InlineShapes(1).LinkFormat is Nothing
the message box displays "True". That is, the Update method broke the link.
I have tried using Selection.InlineShapes(1).Delete, followed by Selection.InlineShapes.AddPicture. This updates the image, but now I need to crop the image and that introduces its own set of problems. Before trying to deal with the cropping issues, I'm hoping that someone has a better way of updating the linked file.
BTW, closing the document and reopening it updates the image nicely as long as the filename has not changed. The point of the macro is to cope with filename changes, if necessary.

Extract screenshot or picture of portion of PDF using VBA or VB and Adobe SDK

I am currently using an excel macro (although I will switch to VB.NET if necessary) to loop through all of the text in a PDF and populate an array with certain portions of the text in the PDF (via the Adobe SDK and getPageNthWord). This part is working just fine, but now what I want goes a step further.
There are certain portions of the PDF where just grabbing the text isn't giving the full picture, and I'd like to see what more I can get. This is exactly the screenshot or snippet I am trying to get:
So, I know that I could use getPageNthWordQuads to find the coordinates for the words "Compliance Warning" and I could figure out a way to find the bottom right of the screen as well, but my problem starts there. After I get those coordinates what would I do with them? Can I zoom in the PDF to only see that portion and then take a screenshot? I already have the code for a screenshot of the activewindow, but I don't know how to scroll or zoom on a PDF.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. A fresh approach would be welcome as well. Thanks!
There are probably a number of approaches that would work - I don't know enough about your environment / constraints to know for sure which would work best. I'm assuming you are talking to Acrobat through OLE here.
1) You can open a window, get its AVPageView and ask it to zoom and move to where you want it to do your thing.
2) You can open a PDF document in one of your own windows using OpenInWindowEx and then grab the contents of that window (the advantage being that this window could be off screen).
3) You can use the DrawEx method (in AcroExch.PDPage) to render a specific portion of a page into your own window and then process that.

Is there a quick way to change the underlying image in a .snag Snagit file?

I'm using Snagit for user guide screenshots. (New to it, but so far it's great!). I save the screenshot as a layered .snag file, then export .png files for putting into the document. The layers in the .snag file consist of the underlying raster image (the background) plus a layer of annotations and callouts on top.
Doing it this way lets me move and edit the annotations and callouts with ease, then export a replacement .png file. But what if I have a bunch of callouts on a screenshot and the screen itself changes?
Is there a way to replace the raster layer (background) with a new one, while keeping the callouts in place, so I don't have to create a new .snag file? (I want to avoid copying and pasting the callouts from the existing file into a newly created one...)
Thx!
Yes, that is possible, as long as your annotations and callouts are still vector objects. Here's what you need to do:
Delete the existing screenshot.
Make a new screenshot and paste it into the snag file.
Select the screenshot and use the Send to Back function to move it to the bottom layer.
If required, adjust the positions of your annotations.
